idk what you'd need to do to fire old-type clay at home. Sculpey you just cook in the oven at.. a fairly low temperature 275 or so idk. for a certain amount of time depending on how think you made it

I use the watercolor brush! On certain brushes like the watercolor brush, you can increase how much blending power it has.
Low opacity/ink can also help in increasing the blend power.
