sigh. A friend of mine reading my story's first draft insists I should restate something that was stated a long while ago that has been implied ever since.
and that a character who's stated to have no healing powers, and who has been bruised and battered enough that she'd use healing powers if she had any, should think to consider that if something happened to another, she wouldn't be able to heal them.
healing just isn't something she considers doing because she already can't.
This is such a conundrum. I just can't find a way for her to organically restate the fact that healing magic can't deal with mortal wounds except for an exception that is stated to be missing entirely.

What I said about the issue with the friend suggesting the character restate something that there's no reason she'd ever even think to restate.
Like... if you have no healing magic, you're of a very practical mindset, and, in fact, your nature is the opposite of what it'd take to have good healing powers, you don't just stop and ponder about how, if your friend got attacked, you have no magic that'd heal them.

i used this style for a gift for a longtime friend of mine's pokesona and i'm seriously thinking about doing more gifts in this style because with shading, linework, and all, it took me thirty dang minutes. and i'd say that's pretty good considering i had two points of distractions.
the only problem is that i feel like it might be TOO simple but it'd be for free art or small/chibi things so i'm not too worried about quality considering how much use the end product will end up receiving or what my goal is in the end for it
i did this today and in the same amount of time it took me roughly an hour to complete. for something this simple. i feel like it's because the brush is more...unstable? or rather instability is more easily recognizable so i have to go over lines repeatedly in order to achieve a desired result. i'm still going to use this style for my ask blog but the difference in overall production rate when matching quality standards is quite surprising to me
