Bodies are usually about 7-8 lengths of the head, including the head, though that varies for some people of course.

So Seeker (three-eyes) is a half-elf who never knew who her father was. She was raised by her human mother in a large rural town. Disaster struck when she was about 13, in the form of a devastating attack mounted on the town by a mysterious creature. It happened in the dead of night, an no one was able to fend off the beast, resulting in the tragic destruction of her home town and known family. She of all the villagers was the only one left alive. She soon found that the encounter left her with a dark gift; monstrous and roiling wild magic rushing through her being. Spells and magic seemed within her grasp now, but at a cost. Every time she uses the power she was cursed with, there is a chance that things go severely awry, resulting in an unpredictable magic surge. To her ultimate dismay, she learned that the magic inside her could not be repressed. If she went too long without using it in some way, a surge would occur from the buildup. Feeling scared, alone, and bereft, she was fortunate enough in her wanderings to meet kind souls willing to harbour a child in exchange for menial labour. She quickly learned that good people and communities were not spared her chaotic magic’s wrath, and after a few too many disappearances and deaths on her conscience, decided to go it alone. Becoming a hermit to protect others from her curse, she decided to try and rid herself of her affliction. She believes that if she identifies and finds the creature from that dark night long ago and slays it, she will be free and ultimately avenged. Her journey has been arduous and lonely, never allowing herself into heavily populated areas or to keep the company of even an animal for fear of bringing it harm. She learns to conceal the evidence of her abnormal nature by using clothing and accessories to mask the remnants of previous surges.

So far what I've got is that she grew up in a city that shunned most races + magic, started conscripting any magic users for the war efforts, got separated from her parents when they tried to flee because they were put on different ships. She was 15 I think? She ended up taking care of another young orphan, a half orc boy of like 7 during all that. They survived on the streets of whatever port city they landed on until something related to their criminal background resulted in the boy's supposed death a couple years prior.

Flavor-wise I'm playing her with high constitution because she knows how to take a beating and also because I've got some notion in my head of a close-combat sorcerer that combines magic + quarterstaff because she's scrappy af and not good at backing down from challenges.

She's only got 8 strength so she's not meant to be mainly close range but she absolutely has the option, and with her temper there's no way she'd always stick to the back. In the long run I'd want to give her more mobility so she can dart in and out if she needs to. Plus she's definitely getting the knockback thunder spells.

Agreed, taking pictures of your own hands helps a bunch

Also break them down into their geometrical components to try and understand their general form

If you do this from a variety of angles, you'll find you immediately have s better grasp on how they should look 😃

But the position and angles of everything looks perfect

Still looks a little thin? Like compare the index fingers mainly.

Hands are usually roughly the size of the face of spread out across it, give or take (put your hand on your own face for comparison)

Obviously it'll be a bit different for different styles

I think the thickness of the pen is why it looks a bit thin so if you increase by like a size or two and space it out it’ll probably look better idk
