when i first started digital art, my first drawing tablet didnt have a screen, it was like the ones in the article
and tbh i recommend most beginner digital artists do to the same
start small and then work your way up

Their blood runs dark purple to magenta on a spectrum that relates more to their society. So the Outlands, Borderlands, and Inlands would average magenta, grape, royal purple respectively.

Knox's blood is more typical of the outlands though she's a borderlander. Sane folks from her planet hail from the borderlands or inlands.
But to understand that you have to understand how iridium works on their brains, because Outlanders are all driven mad by heavy iridium presence.

But the short of it is that her species have extreme neuroplasticity. Where humans' neural pathways are pretty rigid once formed, theirs can form, reform, and more. Iridium facilities this process.
Names are something I haven't entirely figured out? Their language is that of whistles and humming. Humming is usually more responsive/mood-based, whistling is sorta closer to vocal language but still different enough that you can't translate it exactly compared to human tongues. Their vocal system is sort of a cross between that of humans and birds, notably parrots.

Culture varies. In the Borderlands it's a warrior society, everyone must learn to fight because the Borderlands are what separate the Outlands from the Inlands. The Inlands are more technologically advanced, but iridium is more scarce in those regions and thus more controlled by governing bodies.
Compared to the outlands, where it's literally everywhere but that effects their neural networks in ways that make it basically impossible to stay sane, most who live in the outlands are basically violent husks, to put it very simply.

Essentially their brains work in a constant cycle of neural pathway formation, calcification through reinforcement, and chemical erosion via iridium radiation exposure which facilitates continual elasticity of neural plasticity which is key to their healthy survival. Underexposure creates too much calcification, causing depressive symptoms and more, whereas overexposure creates manic-psychosis symptoms because neural connections can't form fast enough to keep up with the calcification erosion.

Their world has low-level ambient iridium radiation in its atmosphere, which is almost enough to sustain most people, but never entirely enough. All of their species need a bit extra to survive heathily. In the Inlands, in most cities, iridium is controlled because it's so expensive and risky to mine it from the Outlands.

Colorations are fairly limited and certain colors are more common based on the region.
You also have to consider the environment of their world for coloration. It's mostly purples, dark blues, grays. It's nothing like Earth/SDV-planet.
So Inlanders, on average, probably tend towards: darker purple blood, navy hair, green to yellow-green eyes.
Borderlanders, on average: grape blood, yellow to gold eyes, navy/royal purple hair
Outlanders: magenta blood, yellow-blue to blue eyes, medium to bright hair like bright purple to aqua
Borderlanders are more likely to have genetic abnormalities because they're more likely to have varying levels of exposure.

Because of their highly-adaptable biology, it's usually temporary and they tend to rapidly recover in correct exposure levels, though under-exposure is easier to deal with than over-exposure since the latter has to just work its way out of their system.
Repeated and/or chronic improper exposure will absolutely have permanent effects. The more frequently it happens, or the longer any given episode goes, the more likely symptoms are to persist even after proper levels have been balanced.
The actual tolerance thresholds and exact adaptability varies per individual, though, similarly to humans, but none are immune.
