The big thing about this character is that he's really just a soul that's being shot around through different people every lifetime so he doesn't really know what's going on or what to do, but he's seen a lot of different sides to humanity and as such he has a very.. Mixed viewset on it. Another thing is like.. He has family, but he also doesn't. Like.. He has a family for that life time; but once that life ends, he has to start over with new people and stuff and it's weird for him. He has no problem forming these attachments but it makes him sad.

Clarissa's old concept involved her being a god that controlled the stability of the universe subconsciously however, before her personality haul, Clarissa was very eccentric and arrogant and did whatever she pleased without any fear of consequence or repercussions she was really reckless and because of this, several versions of her from different timelines broke through the barriers set in place and the several clones came from resistance organizations that were set on changing the outcome of their timeline this ranged from a utopian society that was fed up with the harsh and deadly government controlling them to a dystopian society where everyone suffers to a completely normal timeline where the only difference is Clarissa is a boy

basically is understanding the distance between one item of your face to another
as you can see you can go on breaking those distances very easily and slowly
notice how the end of the eye line is also close to the end of the jaw line if you put it vertically
it doesn't need to be PRECISE
but eyes are can begin basically as ovals in the sketch
and refined later on

and honestly with enough practice it becomes second nature to know what should go where

Definitely don't be afraid of using references. And for studies - don't be afraid of tracing here and there if it helps your mind understand the subject. Obviously you don't want to trace something and say "Look what I drew!" but when you're learning it's really not a big deal (provided you're tracing photo references and not other peoples' art).

it's part of the 'show-don't-tell' but don't be afraid of showing your references too, especially when it comes to professional photographers and stuff
free images are more flexible with that
but if you're gonna post your studies it's quite nice to show
there's a DA that's entirely dedicated to posing photos, the owner is super nice and they say you don't need to link them back if you make your own original piece using their photos as reference
but that they'd be very grateful, for example
I find it nice to throwback at them because it helps other artists find a very nice reference source and I think their work is awesome

The only reason you don't want to trace other artists' work when learning is because then you might accidentally end up picking up too many of the things that make their style unique. It's fine to take bits and pieces of styles you like and try to incorporate them into your own style, but it's always very obvious when someone takes too much inspo from one place, or obviously based their work on a single other artist.
Free stock photos or things licensed under creative commons are great resources though. (Mind "free" not "it's a stock photo on a website that wants me to pay but I'm going to copy the preview")

Redraw it, it'll be so much better the second time you draw it. That's what I do with music, I do several takes, and each one is better than the last, because I 1) don't make the same mistakes again, and 2) can develop ideas I couldn't expand on or finish during the first take

my issue with DA was mostly the community. Either people cozying up and eventually asking for free art, or people who want to point fingers and compare styles etc
