The trick is to figure out your own balance. Do you want more commissions, but a little less each, or less but a little more each? Sometimes it equals out to the same end dollar result but not effort result, sometimes it doesn't. It also depends on your target audience. Like if your followers and target audience are mostly teenagers you need a lower price threshold vs if your followers are mostly 20-somethings with actual disposable income.
