so, i still have space at the top but idk what to put on
something decorative maybe ?
multiplayer cabin and stable so when someone wants to join, you'll be ready
Crops look cool
tks !!
You don't have any sheds yet, that's one option
why do we need many slime hutch tho?
oh the slime hutch on the right its a cask house with my mod
i dont use shed cuz i use the cabin with that max upgrade so it good for me
For what do you even need a slime Hutch?
Looks good, you'll probably want a space between those two shed by the farmhouse
I sort of just took it a section of the farm at a time and planned it out as I played the game. And I've changed pretty much every part my farm at least once
And welcome the server!
guys is ancient fruit good for the greenhouse?
Yes, it's the best option for crops you don't have to replant after each harvest
oooo that's true
i was thinking the starfruit but that needs to be replanted i think
so i should just fill the whole thing up with ancient fruit?
i already did that! i'm very excited because a fruit and a rabbit's foot are the only two things i need left to complete the community centre
Oh nice!
yayyy 😄
but it also means i have nothing left to do except............... going to...,,,,,................ the skull cavern.........
pray for me
Good luck!
thank youuu, it's really scary haha
@shut latch
(1) as for the two sheds by your farmhouse, I would move the left one two tiles left (to align with the cliff) and the right one, one tile right (to sit beside the farmhouse). Space to walk between them (and access your pet's water bowl) is nice.
(2) your beehive area is ridiculously suboptimal. It's OK if you're just doing it for an excuse to plant pretty flowers, but if you're trying to make money from that area, strongly consider just putting more crops there. If you want to plant pretty flowers, how about the north area, along the walkway between your farm and greenhouse?
(3) The sprinkler directly above your coop can't sit there, that's a cliff. It'll need to be moved.
(4) if you want more sheds, the area below Grandpa's Shrine is a good spot for them.
(5) I kinda like your sprinkler layout. A lot of people are just slaved to the squares that the game gives them, but honestly you can get more mileage on non-standard farm types by following the lines that the game gives you, than by forcing everything into a square shape.
@fervent granite thanks for the feedback
it's hard for me to give feedback on aesthetic stuff, so I try to limit myself to things with concrete game effects. There... isn't that much more for me to comment on, because half your farm is empty?
oh, in case you didn't know, after the Community Centre is complete, you get access to a building which auto-harvests your crops for you in an area
same location as the gold clock
I mean... I'm not really sure what to do with the other half.. taking it slowly.
And yeah I know, never used one though. And I'd have to replot everything around it in addition.
I wanna put up fences eventually too...hmmm
@fervent granite
hm?
eh, it's fine to take your time
"crops" is never a bad answer though
more crops is always better
Lol. Of course
But I just started Summer on this farm. I've got time to figure it out
I honestly need more trees. I need logs
I planted em. Just waiting for em
Question: Does anyone know if the Remastered Immersive Farm 2 map by the "Stardew Valley Expanded" author will be added to the planner at any point?
@pallid gulch around this weekend when I get back home from vacation
ayyy ! i downloaded it too, excited for the addition
r
There's no wrong way :)
just hard cause its solo and mobile but i do love the game
I neber play mp for a long time
And I prefer solo anyway
I'm turning Shithole Farms around babey!!!
Any advice on what I should do with the bottom right area w/ all the trees?
Both below and to the right of the junny hut
Fruit trees?
Even after pumping my greenhouse full of em?
Is the profit margin good enough on em to be worth it
not really. It's not aesthetic
Crystallarium farm?
That’s great!
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
any idea what to do with that huge bottom section?
or the space between the crops and the stairs leading to the greenhouse
animals! Always more animals, they can take up however much space ya need
lol. thanks for the suggestion. but as to managing all those animals....
y'all talk like managing animals is so much work you just run though their grass patch and scream every so often
that's a good idea,
Please Know That My Above Statement Was Like, At Lease 85% In Jest I'm Just Bad At Conveying That
@shut latch did you make any changes since my previous suggestion or
389 crops and counting
Wew 389 nice
i mean..i moved the sheds. i do believe the sprinkler can stay there. and i'm not sure what to do about the bee hives. @fervent granite
That's a junction of space - so placing beehives (which obstruct movement) may not be fantastic
Maybe move the beehives somewhere else?
Maybe to the area south of grandpa's shrine
i'll be able to get through there fine. i gave myself just enough room to move around
Yeah that's the point
If you didn't need to navigate the junction then you could fit more beehives
? i don't see the problem
Right now the beehive space efficiency is 24 beehives in 72 tiles (1/3)
Which is low
There are less beehives in the area than you can fit, because that's also a walking area
It's not a problem per se
It's just inefficient use of space
where would you suggest i put them?
i also just realized i have no sprinklers in there anyway
Below grandpa's shrine, maybe? Between your house and the greenhouse?
For me it was first a question of 'where do I want flowers to grow' aesthetically (in front of my farmhouse) and that's where I put my beehives
I also use junimo huts for all my crops, so the second consideration was 'where are there crop tiles which are not covered by the huts' and that's where I put more bee hives
honestly i like them in that space, even though it's kinda inefficient
and i'm not sure how to/if i even can incorporate junimo huts in my farm
i've never done it before
and yeah, I added sprinklers
shrugs
junimo huts are pretty straightforwards - when you place them on the farm planner, you'll see a blue box, the junimos will collect crops in that box
so it's a matter of placing them to collect crops without taking your bee flowers
i feel like now i have to retile everything if i wanna do junimo
just the crop areas =P
it's a secondary concern right now though
the important part is that you kinda want to get a feel of what goes where for the farm
it's good to have an idea of that "I want crops in this location, bee houses there, and animals over here"
yeah, good point
@shut latch here's something I just threw together in the time since... since I last talked to you here I guess
you can give that a try if you want
or something like that
oh awesome. ty
intresting
maybe after a few years, when I unlock them and all I'll decide
it's a bit messy - if I were to redesign it right now I'd shift the right-side hut one tile down and maybe one tile right, to give me more crop tiles (on the right and above the hut)
thoughts on fences?
mmmmm
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
they look pretty, so that's their most major function
aside from that, almost literally wherever you would put a fence, you can instead put a bee house or a lightning rod (or hell, a statue of some kind)
and get the same effect without needing to replace fences
gates exist, and gates have to be bordered by fences
so that's it
i just feel like they look orderly
then that's enough reason for you to use them
for me, well...
fence? what fence? No fences here, sir...
and when a farm doesn't have them, or like...tiles it just lt just doesn't seem as put together. Like paths in animal crossing
it's mostly aesthetic
yeah, that's fair
but...i never see good places to put them
the important thing is that you like your farm and like how it looks
me? I only care that my farm overall doesn't look stupid, for the most part
if you haven't already, you can check out https://www.reddit.com/r/FarmsofStardewValley/

just for inspiration
woah, thanks. i'll have to look at thoselater
take inspiration from them as much as you want
but remember, at the end of the day? Your farm and you are the one who has to be satisfied
the first result, for example, has 9x24 crop tiles (216). I could not be satisfied with only 216 crop tiles.
(I have 440 on Forest farm.)
for year 1 and probably year 2 you just plut things where they're convenient
hah yeah it's odd isn't it? Not necessarily bad, though... just odd.
Leah on my first farm
I'm late summer y1 on a hill farm and proposed to Emily a couple in-game days ago
i'm almost done with summer on yr 1 on this farm. Sebby doesn't even know I exist
He emerges from his den for about 3 hours sunday to wednesday in spring
at like 6:30pm
that's a good time to catch him, if you're courting him
he spends that time by the lake
lol. the emo vampire
not sure about his summer schedule
Seb is... if you're courting him, it's worth looking up his schedule because otherwise you just won't see him ever
yeah, i'm use to tracking him down
i love the days where i'm just...waiting for him to come out of his room
I was going to try Elliot this time....but...i just can't
heh that's fair
to me, it's a video game, so I don't hesitate to court someone else in different saves
I'm old-fashioned, though, so I'm not courting multiple people in one save.
hmmm.....
idk. I just relate alot to Sebastian and i wanna marry the person i have the most in common with
like...I was interested in Elliot because he's a writer, something I wanna do irl. but besides that, there's not really much else that interests me about him
that's fair too
no one's forcing you to marry someone different per save
that's just what I do
yeah I get it
so yeah have lots of fun o.O
yeee

dope
Hey everyone, this was the rendered plan for my farm redesign
And this is how it ended up in-game
selfie with Leah
I'm waiting on those mushrooms and trees
I'd love to get some feedback :)
I love it. Super lucky with where you got your mushrooms
i think its dope. You could also maybe take out the wooden path thats around the sheds and stuff and put grass
play with something like that if you want but its nicee
Wish slime hutches had more purpose other than purple slime slaughtering. They just eat so much space.
Only other thing I can think of is maybe adding a cabin for some mp action
(@rain gale You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
You have to manually plant it all. I only do it if I want truffles
or you can just feed them hay
But yes it will not grow more
You can feed them hay and still get truffles from pigs? Thought they had to eat grass outside
Ya that's what I thought
I really want to make an orchard/honey farm once the next patch comes out. I'm just not sure if I will make enough to get everything done by year 4
Oh yeah honey is fun
I never did it on this save, my main one
I'll really miss my mods once 1.4 is out
I only have utility mods and I couldn't live without them
i like this layout but since i don't have the mod i don't know which buildings are which, can someone point help?
i don't want to install the mod
far left is slime hutch, bottom left seems to be coop, two buildings next to greenhouse are sheds, buildings parallel to farmhouse also sheds, and a bit above the sheds barn(?)
is what im guessing
Bottom left may be shed, the other things (near mushrooms and greenhouse) may be cabins?
Hmm, but there are four of them.
Yaah i dont think its part of the multiplayer mode but i could be wrong
can u have more than one shed?
yes
cool
hi plz help ! this is my farm design so far but i want to get rid of the area with the crops because to be quite honest i am a lazy cow and i dont want to grow crops outside of the greenhouse its 2 much work so any suggestions of what to do with that area would be amazing
Maybe add some beehives or fruit trees?
And I really love how you put a well on the little animal island
ohh good call actually i think i'll put fruit trees + beehives together i think that'd look really cute thank u!!! and ty! i wasnt sure what to do with that area but im finally ok with how it turned out
So I actually have a question. I’m trying to place paths and I can’t get the transparent thing to go away. When I click it just places that there and I can’t do anything about it. Can’t place fences, crops, or other paths with it there. Does anyone have any idea what I’m supposed to do.
What do you mean by transparent thing?
It’s hard to tell from the picture but it looks like when your about to place something. How it’s kinda transparent.
does refreshing fix it ?
No
The guide lines?
Yeah
Those just help you with keeping stuff aligned across the farm, they don't do anything
and you can’t delete the path ghosting i’m guessing ?
I don't think I've seen that before
neither odin
Definitely a bug of some sort
Glad it’s not me just being an idiot then
Yeah I can place literally everything else
Farm machines
Buildings
its just paths ?
weird

@warm linden Any idea what's going on here?
Will do
Just found this handy tool - it's wonderful! Whenever I place a building, the top of the building's render is cut off. Is there a fix for that?
it's intentional ! the planner only shows the buildings hitbox (so you can see behind it) however when you render the farm it should show the full thing
Ohh! cool cool - thank you!
And welcome to the discord Mar!
Do you guys have some nice forest/default farm layouts to share? I want to make my own pretty farm but I have no idea on how to design it :(
@gloomy pine https://www.reddit.com/r/FarmsofStardewValley/

you can also sort by farm type: https://www.reddit.com/r/FarmsofStardewValley/search?q=flair_name%3A"%3AForest_Farm%3A Forest"&restrict_sr=1

Ooooo thank you!!!
F
Is stardew planner web has support for IF2R mod? Kinda hard to decorate a big farm layout without a planner.
I'm dealing with that right now
though it seems like IF2R is missing base image in the nexus, so I'm trying to get someone to picture that for me
Planner now has IF2R Farm
oh wow that's a big farm O_O
anyone have any ideas for this? it's a WIP so lots of blank space still and also my first plan so I'm probably not very good (still enjoying the experience though)
Moar beehives? Maybe some cute decorations in the empty spaces?
I quite like lampposts
One flower is enough for many beehives, and you don't really need sprinklers for them, you can just water them. More lightning rods?
You can get a better-looking screenshot to share by clicking a button (purple I think?) at the top right.
anyone up working on their farm?
I am!
(@somber elm You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
Just finished this plan for my farm, about to get started on it
that looks so awesome!!
mine is... decent? ^^;
compared to yours its nothing
gj!
alright, i've finished up and i'm stuck in the top right corner 3:
I love it it’s so cute
thank uuu
thank you!!! omg
If you're on a horse it's not any slower :)
ah yeah i always forget that
there is lots of empty space because i like that feeling for a farm, idk
its my dream farm. a balance of function and aesthetic
It's a great setup Divine!
thank you odin!!
i've been looking at farm plans for like an entire day instead of actually redesigning my farm help
@tardy garnet lmao me every day
standard map has too much space and it's overwhelming but my last few saves i used other maps and there was too little space 🙃
i used the white water map on my last save but like anxiety still took over lol yikes
yeah the worst part is there's not as much reference for the modded maps. like not as much farm plans to look at
Does this channel help with farm design
Yes!
Great... Never knew what this channel was for
So I have a wilderness farm, and all my buildings are just... Scattered... I have 1 silo, 1 barn, 1 coop and... 1 shed
And 1 windmill thing...
I'd send a screenshot, but idk how to take one with full view on android
You can use https://upload.farm/ on android :)
You can always rearrange them by going to robin’s
I remember not having that feature before and I needed to destroy some buildings because I couldn’t move them
You can also just pinch to zoom on android and get a good section of your farm captured that way
Ok thanks guys
I'll send a picture in a bit
This my mess at the moment
I want it to look like a modern city-like farm... I dont know where to start or what to do
ok... finally started throwing around some ideas, this is obviously just a start
Well Summer, maybe some stone paths would bring it closer to what you're imagining?
Trying to make a design for the mining map and it's so difficult. I can't figure the space out at all, any ideas on how to work with such an odd space?
@grand inlet I'm in progress on making a winery/meadery out of mine. Going to build 5 sheds up on the mining platform
I was heading towards that direction too, I think it's better to do a sort of artisan type farm.
at least for the mining layout
(@grand inlet You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
Does anyone know if there there is a way to plan out use of spaces outside the farm? I’m using the quarry and the tunnel road for kegs.
not to my knowledge
but the quarry and tunnel road have been "solved"
don't use the road map on the wiki, you can fit 4 keg rows
tfw no crab pots in planner
Do crops grow on green tiles
Not without mods
would something like this work modless
In the stardewplanner, there is an option to show junimo hut coverage if that's what you're asking.
(but also. Yes I believe it should be collected)
You might want some sprinklers, but yes that will work. In fact, you'll only actually need one of those huts, although it certainly looks more symmetrical to have both
wooden sign is one tile in game right
yes
so planner has wood signs now
Nice!
Apologies from yesterday, I didn’t specify what I was asking about: would the trees near the huts work
If they're fruit trees, stuff is too close to them... If they are normal trees, I think it's fine.
if fruit trees, they will not grow/mature
but if already grown they will continue to produce froot
here's where we're at, end of spring year 2! pretty happy with the efficiency of things, want to make some adjustments to the animal area bc its kind of a pain rn. hoping to add another barn just for pigs soon.. and maybe want to define the areas by the negative space around them? like pathing everywhere but the squares. idk. oh and tapper area is a work in progress!
middle area with fruit trees will be for golden clock, eventually
it looks more boring than i expected lol, soon i hope it'll be prettier
really nice sam!
Looks good!
anyone who is good at designing aesthetic farms pls dm me !! (playing on switch)
If you post your farm here I'm sure people would be happy to give pointers :)
Im done with my farm! For now!!
But my pic contains spoilers
Is it ok
I mean item spoilers, i suppose
Yeah that's fine :P
Its not the best, but I think its good enough
That looks great! I like how you have flowers set up like hedges
It would be cool if the game had hedge blocks for the farm
i play on switch so i dont really know how to import a screenshot of my farm
Basically just a plant fence :P
Yeah i got it
I am waiting for my farm to become greener!
Hence all the empty space!
You could add some trees
Gasp! You're right! I'll add em later
It doesnt look bad though, does it? ;-;
Just be honest pls
They are, theoretically. But some grass will give you problems.
That's unfortunate. Hopefully it'll work >.<
My friend wants to do a tree farm with animals
Most of the places it'll work, you may just find some spaces it won't. If you aren't too bothered about having a perfectly symmetrical layout or something, you should be fine.
@grand inlet the tiles that are problematic in particular will usually be the grass-soil transition tiles
these guys
aside from that, the Stable is 99% of the time going to be the first thing you want to visit when you wake up
so it's advantageous to place it near the farmhouse
Thank you! That helps a lot
You might have issues with the green/dark green grass transition tiles as well
so since i can't decide how to layout my main farm, i started messing about with the forest farm i want to do instead
i'm still pondering what to do with the area around the greenhouse, but the bottom and right sides are pretty solid
the area around grandpa's shrine is going to have the statues in it and probably lightning rods if i can make them look nice
i could probably use the spot below the cave entrance for another crop space
it's not symmetrical sprinkler-wise though which bothers me
nice farm
maybe u should put like trees around the greenhouse
and decorate it with like tubs of flowers or seasonal decor idk
yeah, i'm thinking i'll have a smaller patch of crops to the right of the greenhouse and just scatter some trees on the left
Hey, I though a lot about the farm I shared a while ago here, and here it is.. with a little of remodeling and a new color scheme
Very nice! Like how all the buildings match :)
Beautiful building mod, definitely
I replaced the white ones that people seemed to find sad
The 3 sheds above the animals have preserve jars, the 2 to the right have kegs and I made a "museum" of sorts in the one next to the house
@minor onyx you can put buildings in the meadows on the left
also grass starters will not spread on "meadow" tiles
i know you can put buildings over there, but i don't want to
fair enough
you also need to be aware that we recently dug into the code for pigs
they require empty tiles to spawn truffles
👌
grass prevents them from truffling on that tile
which is bullshit
pigs are supremely profitable anyway but...
i figure it's unlikely the whole thing will be grassy at once anyways, i mostly jsut did it 'cause it looked nice on the planner
we'll see how stuff goes ingame and then i can tweak it from there
yeah, it's just worth knowing
for pigs it's kinda worthwhile to minimise grassy areas
forest farm has an advantage here - if I were you I'd connect the pigs' grazing area to one of the meadows to increase area where they can truffle
How do you guys get those pics of the whole farm?
Is it worth it to have that many lightning rods or is it just a waste of resources? I was thinking about cutting the amount I put in half. Just curious!
(Also any additional thoughts on this plan would be appreciated C: )
It's useful to have at least one.
But there's no guarantee. And batteries are useful
That's definitely not too many lightning rods, it's a good amount. Keep in mind if you get back-to-back days with storms, the ones that got hit on the first day won't be done processing during the morning of the second day
That's a good point, didn't even think about that. I'll leave it as is then. Thanks for your feedback!
Should i build my farm with Like CBJ Cheats menu and Item Spawner Remove them to mods and play normally or should i just play normally with mods
I'd recommend play normal if first run through
Otherwise, whatever feels more fun
If it's your first playthrough, definitely start with Vanilla. Learn how the game works, get familiar with it, then go crazy with mods.
@small island you can go up to 30 lightning rods without anyone blinking an eye at the number
more than that and it starts to be questionable
20 is usually fine for most people
Awesome. I feel better about having that many then. Thanks!
Yeah... It checks 5 or so of your rods randomly to see if one isn't busy/full, so the more you have, the better, really.
hows this so far? I've actually moved some stuff around but it hasnt saved since
thoughts?
updated haha
its a good start !!
you can move buildings right???
is it possible to upload it to the planner and move things around
You can move buildings as long as Robin isn't currently building something
oh nmv i found it
kind of a plan of what i wanna do, i want to add a second silo and move the barn and coop right&back
sooo basicallly im done with my farm :D
I love how you've laid your buildings out and the trees! I'll have to keep that in mind while I'm playing around with my farm
The tree fan on the left is really nice.
Looks great Alicia! Very well organized
Love the tree fans on the back of the sheds!
It beeyootiful
after fruit trees are fully grown, will they spawn fruit if the tiles next to them are covered?
They will, but the quality of the fruit won't improve over time
Is there a valley planner for Mobile¿
Not to my knowledge, aside from trying to use this planner on a phone (definitely don't recommend doing that)
Someone should make planner like on website cause it's hard to make farm lay out whit out planning
Best suggestion is to use this planner when you have computer access, take a picture with your phone or something, then reference that as you play on mobile.
Thx @frigid raven
@warm path hehe ty!
@frigid raven but... why would you take a picture with your phone? There's a save an image option? https://www.screencast.com/t/VoYfCCYbzOc
I am aware. I said as much as the person was playing on mobile.
You could save the image on the PC, but then would have to transfer said image to the phone. I was just omitting that step for sake of simplicity.
except depending on the phone, and the ability of the person, the quality would probably suck
I made my comment for the reason I stated. I'll leave it to the person I was helping to ask for other ways.
So I am in stardew valley planner v2 and I am getting so annoyed that I have to click bee hive Everytime I need to place one does anyone know how to fix this
Hold shift while placing
Thanks!!
You're welcome!
Guys, I try map image export mod from nexus to screenshot my farm and it still make a black picture, in the forum says if you have too much mod, you can't screenshot your farm. Did anyone have alternative app or how to fix it?
#making-mods-general would be the place to ask :)
Oh ok thanks
||the living off the land guy retires!! I'm crying||
is anyone have stardew valley expanded farm layout design? I need some reference for my own layout
!level
@stark glade you can use commands in #governors-mansion
lol
(@stark glade You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
.
Depends, what platform are you playing on?
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
so....i'm experimenting with fences....
and it looks so derpy
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
unoptimalization
try something like that?
sometimes less can be more when it comes to aesthetics
Id move the left scarecrow down 1 space. The space currently below it isn't watered.
also, the top right iridium sprinkler can be brought down left 1,
which means underneath it can be 2 quality sprinklers instead of 1 iridium and 1 quality
the point of that was to propose an alternative fence layout, I didn't even look at the sprinklers
but yeah sprinkler positioning will change depending on the fence layout
everything's watered and under scarecrow protection
@fervent granite any idea what I should do with all my extra space at the bottom?
Really?
I mean...they won't really fit in that bottom right area. Can you do a visual @fervent granite
or like
the thing is that the upper island of hill map just isn't too great for raising animals
it's ok if you have one barn and one coop
Yeah...where I have them isn't really ideal
but any more than that and it gets cramped
It's very cramped
I'll have to move my keg barn somewhere else
And cull my mushroom trees
I kinda got use to that as a crop area. But maybe I can change it around. Idk
shrugs
Lol
's up to you
brb
anyway the point is, it should be something that (1) works and isn't too cramped, that (2) you are comfortable with
here's another possibility
Think of all the wasted farming space
Lol.. I'll figure it out eventually. But at this point I'm tired of getting stuck trying to walk through my animals
Maybe? Idk
if you want them to wander around then there's always gonna be some element of wasted farming space
True.
just up to you where and how much
hill is a bit... interesting
Yeah....
I actually spent more time pushing buildings around on hill farm than river
the narrow corridors are weird to design around
I think putting crops on that hill where my animals are currently might be interesting
I said a few times that hill farm is like better river farm
river is still weird but hill is not friendly to buildings at all
I've only tried Forrest and now Hill
Splatfest is on ... and I'm just thinking about my farm layout
Smash isn't my thing.
Guys how to upload farm?
@gloomy pine https://stardew.info/planner
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
or upload.farm
It's said security error?
what do you mean?
K thx
is there any point in downloading the stardew planner mod?
I've been using the website but what does the mod itself do?
its just the readme
how do i upload my farm to stardew planner
You can also upload your farm to the planner, it's the blue button in the top right :)
If you're trying to share an image of your farm, upload.farm is what you want like Soly mentioned, uploading to the planner just imports your farm there so you can start your plan with your current progress
finally got my farm to match the planner! ❤
it took me a long time to make sure everything matched up
i had to count squares to make sure lol Thats the main reason for them stone flooring lol
holy jesus it's so pink
...four slime hutch???
one hutch for each color slime lol
uh you realise that slimes can breed with each other to give you weird new colours, right?
that's like the whole point of slime ranching
because slime hutch kinda sucks otherwise lol
The point is to have only purple slimes because they match the color of the hutch :P
i have purple, green red, blue slimes already
Can you download Stardew valley planner
No, it's just a website
Oh damit
What would be the advantage of it being a program?
it be fullscreen
F11 in web browser to make it fullscreen...?
Just uh don't scroll down to that?
:D the hardest ive gone on a farm
it's modded, the line of chests are custom machines
I'd have one tiny issue with that layout, and that's the two sheds not being level with each other
@violet moss You can always use this to share modded maps https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1073/?
It looks good though!
Hey so I keep getting a message when I try to render my farm on the website planner that says: “upload.farm rendering failed. Please try again in a few minutes.” This keeps happening since yesterday. Any ideas how to fix this?
Modded farm maps can't be rendered
Would that explain it?
Also, welcome to the discord :)
Hm, I just have it set to the regular farm layout, idk what’s up with it 🤔 (also thanks for the welcome!)
Alright, well that's not it then. Try saving your plan, which creates a unique url, then copy and paste that in a new tab to refresh the site?
Oh huh, I'm getting the same issue
I don't think it's on your side then
Oh well. Hopefully it’ll work soon. But thanks for trying to help anyways!

Fair i wanted them to be but there was a bush in the way @ashen wolf 😭
my farm with various visual mods!
the shed has most of the storage
i'm just debating whether or not to remove the crystalariums with kegs
That looks amazing! Nice job
That looks great! I especially like the area around the gold clock :)
@torpid mist upload.farm cert has expired
@ripe narwhal dude amazing 😮
nice quarry
the horse is amazing utility and it's probably the first thing you go to at the start of the day, so for me, the nearer it is to the farmhouse, the better. Consider putting it on the other side of the shipping box, to the right.
not much other advice from me for now
well i pet my cat and water the trellis crops first so its in a good spot for me but i understand that
mmm that makes sense
I mean it's clearly not a late-game/"finished" farm so a lot of my usual advice doesn't apply lol
I guess... have fun?
or is there any particular issue you find you've been having?
no i sjt wanted to see what people thought
i went to go look at hilltop farm layouts for ideas....my farm looks horrible compared to these, lol
oh hey....evy did hilltop too
you've seen r/FarmsofStardewValley, right?
thanks uber
i'm currently...somewhere on reddit looking at beautiful farms
people are so tallented
talente
*d
why....discord
i don't wanna build over my quarry though
I wouldn't mind seeing a few more hill farm references myself
i would mel
i genuinely enjoy mining
that's the whole reason i picked mining farm
i only have 1 wow i got like 60 pics too
I'm used to being able to push my own stuff around and get good results, but hill farm... the thin corridors make buildings and animals a little weaker than most.
rip slime hutch
I would say I'd be more impressed with that farm if I could tell what building was what, but you appear not to have any crop tiles at all... so maybe I'm impressed in the wrong way.
alot of farms seem to put slime hutch on the quarry
yeah theres not a single crop
wow
do you see anywhere else that can fit a slime hutch decently on hill farm?
because there pretty much isn't
no place for slime hutch
hill farm layout is horrendous for buildings
every farm has its negatives
depends what you go for tbh some people care about crops im in yr6 with no money at all lol
oof...i'm actually going to spend my entire winter trying to fix up my famr
farm
i just put up fences around crop areas and I hate it.....lol
it's a pretty major negative, given that I'm trying to go Shepherd on my farmer
this is my fav farm on reddit its so clean
it's depressing
that farm also has literally 0 crops
and also only 1 barn and coop
i tried forest farm
forest is great
i just didn't like it anymore
I'm beginning to think you're not the best person to take advice from if I want to optimise lol
Soly what farm do you have
forest
Aa
I'm also playing hilltop in winter year 1 but might let it drop
my hill farmer likes animals, and I can't really get a good layout for them
i couldn't use my forest farm to the best of it's potential. So i kinda...abandoned it after 190 hours and 5 in game years
I can't design around an empty space like that
i think i might redo my entire current farm plan for this...
now my farm just looks bad....
What would a good farm layout have
heres one with crops and its a nice looking forest farm
I need guiding lines and obstacles
sobs
you'll pardon me if I'm still not impressed
lol
no slime hutch
it takes a lot to impress me
do I impress you Soly? lol
Need to have good standards
disgustingly efficient while being relatively pretty still
another one ok im out 😭 all u min maxers and ur high expectations
i like fences
that hilltop is nice
if you want to keep the quarry, then you keep it
I’m still figuring out what to even do in the game so I’m not going to worry about placement yet
no one should dictate what you do on your farm
yeah but....
is the hilltop quarry more useful than the regular one?
it is not
optimization?
optimisation is always behind (1) fun and (2) aesthetics
depends ^ on the person ofc
I want my farm to be full but not like woah too much is going on
i think having a spot on my farm full of iridum rocks is fun
You get me
well it's always behind fun, at least
up to player if they value optimisation more or aesthetics
for me I try to balance them
I don't have a farm that looks like utter poop, and then I optimise it hard
it's fine to have 200-300 crop tiles
even if I tend to aim for 400 or more, that doesn't mean you have to
and they keep spreading. but i'm having a hard time figuring out where i want them
trial and error honestly with farm design there so much to do
time to build a cabin and let Soly come roast my farm
having just spent a year on hill farm... it's pretty, but I don't know if I can play a hill farm long-term.
building placement is pretty awkward for a lot of the farm
for a player who likes to spam junimo huts and sheds... it's not a good feeling to play on a farm like that
What even are Juninho huts used for
auto harvest on non-rainy days
Ooh
I could switch my farmer to Artisan crop spam and he'd automatically feel a lot better about this map
...maybe not that much better
it's awkward
about to redo my entire farm plan and see if i like version 2 better
stares at blank farm plan and dies
start by figuring out where the barn and coop want to be
that's usually my first step
it's a fantastic first step, too
if there are green spaces, that's a good spot for the barn/coop to sit on
yeah but...all the nooks and crannies of hilltop make it hard
yeah exactly
ugh.....i wanna make this work
ok...coop and barn are placed. yay
I think this is ok.....
thats what i did on my farm and its ehh
once you get more than 10 animals it would be a bit hard to move around
currently i have both barns in that top area with the barn. So anything would be better than that
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
hey everyone
do you use immersive farm 2 remastered?
kindly post ur farm layout i could use some ideas
this look alright or should i add some more?
the machines will mainly be in the shed & celler
oh just moved the shipping bin beside the barn
oh god where are the sprinklers
sprinklers smrinklers
needs them sprinklers
mk what else?
ive got one beside the barn
OH see it now
ye it's kinda hard to see bc the map is big
what are you planning to do with this farm?
Looks good, don't forget lightning rods though
How does this look? Give me critique please.
it looks good i kinda wanna see it rendered out tho. you could prob use less grass and use that place for more crops
I really like the map layout and everything but what do you do when the season ends that would take a while to plant
Other than that it’s very aesthetically pleasing and has big profit from what I can see because I’m not super experienced
You may want to add some trees Chelsea
Are trees profitable like very?
alright thank you for your opinions.
Regular trees aren't profitable, but you'll need some regular trees for sap and pine tar and that stuff so you can craft kegs, which are profitable
And fruit trees aren't the best if you're looking to min/max, but they're not bad and they look nice
^ yeah I’d probably plant a few trees just for the aesthetics in the middle or something
For the SVE farm, what do y'all put in the little wonky sized fields next to the greenhouse? Right now I've got fruit trees in there, but I'm thinking maybe bees?

Tell me what you think and Im wondering what to do on the right side of the farm
also the trees on the left are going to be different kinds, I was just lazy
https://upload.farm/static/renders/1Hv4AS/1Hv4AS-plan.png
Could do another Jumino crop area
Thanks, the picture wasnt working so i had to put a link
Your barns and coops will eat all the grass and fast
That's actually not much
Aside from that - you can put buildings on the meadows on the left
Swap the barns and the coops with the trees on the side, u can have grass on the uh grass part
Or under ur house, might be enough room there
Uh no
Grass doesn't spread on the meadow tiles
You can put it there but it won't spread and in winter it just dies
See soly is the wiki
Oh okay
i was thinking earlier about this farm plan i have for my forest save (same as i shared a little while back), and i'm trying to work out a more efficient use for the bottom grassy part than putting a barn on it since the grass won't grow on there
theroetically i think i could switch the barn with the beehive area and that'd work, but i kinda like the beehives where they are 🤔
@minor onyx the bottom right meadow space is basically worthless due to thinness and inability to plant stuff there
the meadows on the left are kinda still okay
i'm leaving the meadows empty bc i like the idea of letting the forage spawn over there and i'm chill with 'losing' that area if it maintains The Aesthetic
ok that's fair
you do have a few options with the bottom right
you can put, like, your lightning rods there
or your furnaces
there are also a few tillable crop tiles there - that's worthless for actually growing crops, but if you grow a handful of flowers there, you have a few more beehives
for me, I put down ~20 fruit trees in the area
because it's worthless
guess it's time to browse farmsofstardwvalley and get ideas
one other critique - the thing about the water obelisk and earth obelisk is that they're kind of there to be convenient
so is your horse
so for me, the nearer they are to the farmhouse, the better
I don't like tucking the obelisks in an inaccessible corner like that
up to you though
still faster than walking all the way over to those locations! i'd have put them near the shipping bin, but i need that space to be clear for the minecart
the, uh, what??
i use extended minecart - so technically i don't even NEED the obelisks, i just want them 'cause they're neat and i like them
¯_(ツ)_/¯
How do I place multiple scarecrows/items/etc without having to reselect from the top menu?
me thinks you can press/hold ctrl but im not on my PC to check
np !!
If you scroll down on the planner page there's a few other useful controls :)
If you hold shift or control you will retain the item selected

Progress update
Looks good!
thanks
What's growing in the field? I can't really see it
Pretty sure it's just a farm plan and it's defaulted to parsnips
yeah
Be aware that grass doesn't spread on the meadow tiles in the bottom right
So your chickens are going to be munching on hay
Knowing that, I'd actually swap the barns with the coops so that any pigs you have can truffle on the open meadow tiles
Also so that the chickens are eating grass (coop animals eat less grass per day than barn animals) so the grass field lasts longer
I'd also leave off the last two furnaces on the end on the right so that you can walk between rows
Is this a good farm Idea? I found it online its not mine.
I'm not sure what they're doing with all those barns, but it looks nice
depends what you mean by "good"
it's very far from bad
one thing I note is that the barns and coops don't have grass to eat
(even the one in the top left - the grass placed on meadow tiles doesn't spread)
so if that's important to you, then it's not ideal
Aside from that it's also missing a stable
one silo is not enough for all the animals, either
with two barns and two coops you're looking at five or six easily
most of those are really pretty minor though
I assume that the barns are used for storage maybe? they have more tiles per area than sheds at least
they're placed next to some small grassy areas so I assumed there were animals inside
it looks more about the aesthetic and not much about the profit to me tbh
thanks for your answers. I will of course adjust it to how I want it ☺️ thats why I need you guys for your ideas xD
But the idea is cute like the paths
i love the heart
I like everyone's ideas, but those who aren't modders aren't taking into account the unbreakable bushes on the farm
I need help choosing where to put everything
I have the mountain farm
And idk where to put anything aaaa
I spent a while plotting my forest farm and marking out the unbreakable bushes on the map. They're not remotely close to an issue there
oh neat! I love how you use those small islands, it is efficient but also aesthetically pleasing imo..
the central islands are just a mess of crops haha
my favourite part is the barn and coop though
when you have so little room to do stuff, you try to put barns and coops and fruit trees on the meadow tiles
they're literally the first thing I put down

I feel the urgency to add more bee houses just because I like them hahaha
I see~ hehehe
lonely pumpkin
no one else would look at that spot and think, "I should put a crop there"
and one specific sprinkler for it 😂
me on forest farm
lol
I like putting my bee-house area right in front of my farmhouse, it means I have pretty flowers in my "garden"
oh lol.. I'm itching on the fact there's no way to put the 4th strawberry hahaha
I learned a lesson when planning forest farm - if you're not on standard farm, you should try to play with the area you have
ahh I like to make an orchard area with fruit trees and flowers so usually my bee houses will be there as well..
I'd rather have an inefficient sprinkler layout and more crops, than have every tile of my sprinklers cover crops perfectly, but have less crops
👆 that's a wise choice indeed
now I know why when I screenshot with map image export, it become black picture. Stupid me, I add '[ ]' in word 'all' because the info says like that.
My farm still in chaos, and having too much strange mod. Year 2 Spring 27 from playing in smartphone and move in laptop.
i like the trees and grass especially, nice texture
really pretty
it's so adorable
I love it, I wish I was that talented.
okay, while I have nothing against the pretty mod, I feel like we should be focusing on the farm's layout rather than how cute the mod makes it look.
Not that the layout is bad, just...
By the way, does the grass spread on the quarry tiles??
I have to assume they have a mod for that since there's a gate at the top of the stairs and quite a bit of grass in that area
Or they're just spending a lot of money on grass starter :P
Thank you, I just use Flower Valley map & Yellog house mod. The path... I always edit myself because I didn't satisfied with the color.
@fervent granite I still re adjust the layout when I didn't know what is the eror of the map export image is.
I put that grass when I play in smartphone. And it grow itself. And become retextured when I move on the laptop
...grass grows on the quarry area in the hilltop!?
i sadly didn’t plan my farm and its a total cluttered wreck now, lol.
okay wow that is interesting
planner doesn’t really communicate well to switch anyways.
@true ivy if you use smapi, use this Crop transplant mod. It moves the tree without you chop it
https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2594
yet again, im using switch.
it sounds like Ham is on the Switch, so...
I dont have it on steam, lol.
yeah I planned anyway despite being on the Switch
Oh...
it's so useful still
I’ll probably dedicate a season or two to planning and re-decorating later on.
rn im trying to focus on bundles.
winter is the best time to redecorate
Collect the tree seed first..
Count how many you need
Yeah bundle first. Need to open many things and grandpa bad advice
My current mini-area i have, this farm is only on year 2 atm lol.
What type farm you use?
Wow that already nice
Just the basic, and thanks.
this area is adorable
as for bee houses, the honey is actually worth more if they're placed near a fully grown flower crop
smoll pumpkin
