I added 19 x 65 squares to the right. I wanted to add n area that would be great for farm animals. I was trying to make it so it didn't need MTN so right now there are no changes to the location of the pet place, marriage place or even where things warp into the map.
oo
but
if you warp into the farm
okay so you need to find a way to go into that upper right corner
you end up on the path
you can just open up the fencing
hmm guess I could do that.
Would I need to add fencing to the side to make sure players can't walk off the map?
yes
There are two small plants and a medium plant in the upper right. Do you know if those can be removed without needing mtn?
well friends.. mtn is boinked so i decided to redo the farm ive been working on. I cant decide where to put lightning rods...
actually i might need to place the fences so things make more sense...
Meanwhile I am trying to figure out what is causing certain areas to be blocked
check the buildings layer?
when i have that problem i just run the eraser over the building layer it usually helps
Time to check if that worked
yep that fixed it. Funny thing was when I hid the layers before erasing it said there was nothing there
Dots is this what you had in mind when you said make a place for an orchard?
Also think I should just get rid of the fence. Right now it is the marker for where you spawn in since no mtn
well it won't degrade if you stick your animals over there, which is what I planned to do with this mod
They even have a nice outdoor water source
oh that is nice
It doesn't happen that the author of https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3496 is lurking around here?
you could try doing ctrl + f on the modding:community page and looking up their nexus username
Looks like the author is Forkmaster#7751 if you want to contact them
Ah, excellent. Thanks @night eagle saviour as always :)
No problem :)
friends! i got permission to use the flower box assets for the botanical garden so it is now on the nexus. Version 2: flower boxes
epic
Nice
Oo pretty
that's awesome!! can't wait for it to be all done!
im testing the new farm map now
had to make one that doesnt take mtn to work i couldnt wait
Not sure if this is the right place to ask but i was thinking about making a fishing mod with Fish Farm(as a placeable/expandable building) Where you seed in fish X amount then feed them food and they multiply during there season. at the end of there season all the Starting and fish that Spawned will be collectable in a box. Alternatively being able to place a Item like a Crab pot but for replication of fish.
Probably helps if i ask my question has anyone already done something like this before i go and recreate the wheel?
hi! It'd probably be best to ask in #making-mods-general channel about it. I don't know of any mod that does that specifically though, it sounds like a cool idea!
^
Welcome to the discord Glitch!
This channel is more about farm maps, both designing them in game and creating your own modded layouts.
Thanks guys ill ask over in Modding, on a related note when you make a custom farm can you include ocean water tiles?
(@compact anvil You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
Thanks good to know. gives me confidence that i can code it into a building then as well.
Ya!!
ive been thinking of modding out the big ponds on the map but honestly i'm not too sure what id do with the extra space
I'm sure you'd be able to find a use for the space once you're playing :)

after several game crashes (not related to my map) i finally got far enough to post a screenshot... wizard book isnt unlocked yet so no obelisks , clock,or junimo huts in.. and the slime hut keeps crashing my game so for now that spot is empty. I
am pretty happy with how it turned out considering i couldnt move anything with mtn being busted
i thought your sheds were greenhouses and i was very confused for about two seconds
it looks super organized
thanks 😃 kinda have to be with a farm this large lol
@obtuse ridge what visual mod is that? It looks amazing
the buildings are mostly yellogs, fence is yellogs, grass is eemies i think and its flower valley
ok thanks
i need a name for this farm! I was calling it the combo farm but i really don't like that for a mod name... (also anyone see anything i missed that needs to be put in?).
is this loss
Big (big TM) farm
i went with Pookachu's Deluxe Farm
On a scale of a-b how big is it
wait whats that
a-b??
mods
idk a lot of things
oh well i assume pooka is using Tiled
i have acquired rart
but you can get the mod yourself at nexus probably lets check if shes published it
it looks great pookachu!!
Hey, I noticed that you can plant crops from Y:19 X:76 to Y:27 X:76 in the planner. However in the game you can not. Other things like torches, and scarecrows can be placed in that section.
oh hi! yeah i published it 😃 i was busy putting out a new version of my botanical garden that has rooms for trees/4 crop plots
For the plan I create an image in tiled and then use paint to label everything.
the map is 100x100 of usable space (101x101 for the black trim which makes placing fences SO much easier)
all your mods are so pretty!!
thanks 😃
i just wish i could publish versions with the flower bushes from flower valley
also yay the botanical garden is out! gonna download that right now
3 versions of it!
Trying to decide if I should publish my ... somewhat changed base farm map. Don't think it really changes enough
Pooka, you use BFAV right?
yeah
you never know! aetheris made a small cellar edit for me that they ended up publishing and it got a lot of downloads
Do you have roosters? I think I'm having trouble getting them to show up. Not sure if they need their own icon/section in the store or what.
i did i removed them cause they didnt give any product and animals that eat and dont give me anything back are dinner
chuckles Okay. I know how to convert them to be like chickens, so I can fix that part. Mostly I just want to see more animal variety on the farm. Thanks
the way i had it set up they would just appear under the chickens icon. Use paritees animal chooser and hit the arrow key to change animal type(colour)
I thought animal chooser was broken or something. Or so someone said
otherwise you are at the mercy of the games RNG to see what you get each time you open up the chicken menu
Maybe they could give feathers kinda like ducks give feathers?
The one on the nexus is broken.. paritee has links to her own
That's an idea!
i think its under bfav
Feathers
i was gonna do that but then i got distracted by farm maps and botanical gardens lol
I get a 404 error when I use the link
hmm
I just thought of something you could add in game that can use wool and feathers. Pillows
i know she's working on it... i'll just zip you mine
Thanks
that has extra icons in it that are so/so lol i never set up all the animals to have their own spot on the store though
things i had planned that never finished
i had a thought ... about extending the crop area in front of the farm house... do you guys like this better or the 3x3 crop plots with paths between each?
@warm linden Any plans to add Farm Extender (https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/3496) to the Planner?
@shadow mason yeah, as soon the mods author answers me and gives me a clean background, full resolution image for that
may be a stupid question, but if i install farm extender, it won't mess up any of my current farms, right?
It'll only effect new ones?
I haven’t installed the mod myself but most mods that affect the layout will effect existing farms
How is this so far
I changed the area where the coop used to be and the mill
also played around with the placement of the barn
smells fresh and green
I like it
dots is just SO excited about cool farms
ooh i like that
the honey farm on the side i might change
ik grass makes a lot of farms pretty
and it made ur already pretty farm prettier!!
uwu
Grass is the best farm decoration
what would you add to this?
anything on the left side
so more barns and stuff?
no sheds
and like fill them with more kegs and preserve jars
youre gonna want a lot
i added 4 sheds to the bottom
Don't forget scarecrows for your crops
oof thanks
No sprinklers?!?
oof im having a brain fart
naru
is watering by hand rly such a sin? i havent gotten far enough to make sprinklers but i like watering! it gives me smth to do
idk how to explain it but it feels,, nice to do i guess??
I also like watering by hand shrug
I got summoned
and no its not a sin Hoshi
I water everything by hand.. I never use sprinklers
The problem is mostly that it uses up a lot of energy and time but if you have enough food then its not a problem
nothing wrong with it but like dots said if you are big on farming it takes a lot of time away and energy
I didnt mind hand watering at first but the more seeds i planted the more time consuming it became
Any idea what i should add around the pond?
maybe some decorative rocks/trees?
(@mild charm You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
ive been planning out my farm but i havent left any space for a slime hutch bc they dont seem of much interest to me. are there any real benefits to actually having a slime hutch?
heres my farm plan btw
hehe thanks
not a lot of room for another building tho
the trees along the path are supposed to be a variety of food trees i just could be bothered to go and change them
yeah true
so slimes dont really have much value or benefit?
more like a novelty thing huh
theyre CUTE
Looking to start contributing to the source but have a question or two:
-
Whats the logic behind converting the tile x,y map coordinates (0,0, 12,20, etc) to svg paths for restriction paths? To be more clear - whats the tooling or method of calculating this data? I had expected to see an array of coordinates so want to understand that piece more.
-
I get mixed results for more newer versions of Node for installing and running. Would upgrading the infrastructure be considered?
-
Is there a desire for a more user friendly experience for the UI (the current works just fine but i feel it could be slighly more helpful)
How do you guys actually build the farms you planned in game?
Welcome to the server @sour rover. I think you might be looking for the #making-mods-general channel though
And I'm not sure what you mean Acorn, you just play the game and slowly build up your farm
Nah, talking about the planner site, I think.
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
should I put another area with 8 iridium sprinkers, 4 scarecrows and a junimo hut in the place I marked with crystal floors
@night eagle Hmm, according to channel topics this is the right place. My guess is that map sharing is vastly more popular than the code discussion for the planner lol
Oh sorry, I misunderstood
@warm linden hey there, would you be able to enlighten me on some questions about the source code?
No worries Odin
Sure @sour rover:
- There is no logic. Restriction paths are 1:1 SVG paths, presented in SVG path syntax.
https://github.com/hpeinar/stardewplanner/blob/master/public/planner/js/data/layouts.js#L11
Map coordinates are presented in a way they would be helpful for the modders so they show "tile index" which in planners case is real coordinate / tileSize (which by default is 16 pixels). Coordinates also show "actual X / Y" in braces.
-
Node version upgrade to latest LTS is probably planned when user system is introduced, which is when Patreon reaches certain goal threshold and when I have time.
-
I'm sure the planner could have better, more convenient UI. I haven't had the time to do a full UI overhaul and as it works and people are probably used to it now after 1.5 years, then I'm not really in a hurry with this.
Thanks!
I would say maybe consider #2 earlier as my first experience pulling down was met with a lot of package vulnerabilities, errors and a few minutes of guessing which Node I had to use
As far as #1 goes I'm trying to think of a way to include building restriction paths for placed buildings. I wouldn't want to introduce a new mapping system if you're already going with a SVG based intersection thing
just have 3rd restriction path for building restrictions and use it when user is trying to place buildings?
althought I'm pretty sure there is something called "buildingRestrcitionPath" already
I'd like to think long term it should exist statefully as an exportable data set
not sure it was implemented in the planner yet though.
I think there's a separate ticket for downloading/uploading plans as editable data?
Planner has few forms import and JSON export, yes.
though I don't see why would you export the restriction path.
Ah okay, I guess that ticket is stale then though I didn't see that option myself
Conceptually I was thinking the JSON would be a map of each coordinate and what can and can not be placed on it statefully
Why?
For more depth of tile/building placement + being able to import and export raw planner data
But you're saying that already exists so it's mostly moot
exporting raw planner data works, but doesn't have any restriction information, because it's not needed where-ever you are going to export this to.
Not the game or the upload.farm render process cares about planners restrictions.
The reason restrictions would be helpful is so the planner knows you can't place a building on a building at any point
but... it already does
it knows where the buildings are
I can place a barn on a barn last I checked
As opposed to trying to place a barn on a greenhouse
Oh sorry! Yes
well, you could just have the building placement check against already existing building array
which would probably need some additions, because right now only placement tile is saved for these as far as I remember
Right, was thinking that when I first took a gander. Haven't really caught the full breathe of how this data exists yet and the SVG paths threw me off 😅
so if you'd have a restriction array, it would be 5200 elements per default farm.
now, when you are placing something down, you not only need to check the tile it is placed on, but all the other tiles it is also "covering"
considering how the map is, you would need to check that for each of the outline tiles of the placeable objects. Just checking the corners is not enough because then you could still place buildings middle-half on water and so.
Right
So instead of checking X amount of tiles agains a huge tile Object, it was far easier to do it via the restrictions paths.
The data itself still lives in array inside the planner.
also the restriction paths are fairly ok to manage, because I have tools inside the planner I can "draw" them with
whole planner is running on http://snapsvg.io/
anyone have an answer to my question
Sorry, it got buried. I wouldn't personally place crops there since it doesn't line up with the other crop fields, but that's just me. If you're more focused on min/maxing and don't have a use for the space, go for it :)
I can't really put it anywhere else without having to move a lot of stuff
I guess that if I have to go through that place my horse can walk through the crops without getting slowed down?
Yeah, that won't be an issue
I actually have a quick question about the planner, but I tested a few things in game compared to the planner, and there are locations where in game I can place a fruit tree, where I cannot place them in the same place on the planner map. Conversely there are a few places where the planner map says I can place fruit tree where in game I cannot. Is there a place I can mention the coordinates or something like that?
Anyone got switch
If you're looking for someone to play with, you'll want #multiplayer-lfg-old :)
heyo
Okay so
With my mesurements
A bottom 25x7 rectangle
And a top 14x7 rectangle
What should I do animal wise?
I need a grass area, silos, barns, coops and... What else?
those 5by5s will be good as you build up through sprinkler tiers
you just with have some overlap with the lowest tier
and 2nd actually
but it'll get the job done
you don't NEED a grass area
or plural silos
I only have one silo for 2 barns and 3 coops on one of my saves, you just need to watch the hay count
It's not necessary, just nice
on my main farm I have animals here
it's a lot bigger so you can have lots of barns and coops
4 silos, 2 barns, and 2 coups In the area sounds good
So what should I do to decorate the area in front of my house? @jade lantern
Beehives and flowers?
Don't forget you'll probably want a stable somewhere close to the farmhouse
i put legendary fish signs and rarecrows
here is an outdated map of my farm
sorry was plugging in my hdd to import it xD
actually scratch that
don't put rarecrows there because I moved them to the area inbetween the sheds and house due to it being possible for weeds to kill them
and it looked a little nicer
but you get the idea
just think of what you would like
make a nice farm that suits you
you shouldn't really go crazy about decorating in year one
because frankly there aren't lots of options to be creative
@jade lantern an hour late but
I'm just planning ahead
So y3 I won't have to uproot a bunch of stuff
is it your first playthrough
I'm just looking for something to put in front of my house that's unintrusive but useful
hm well the most obvious is a stable
and there are the warp pillars
and the two types of statues that give you daily items
sure
what should i do with my friends' cabins?
i kinda wanna put them somewhere
but like
somewhere
y'know?
Hey, someone wanna critique my farm plan?
i'll take a look
?
didn't know if I could post an actual link
you can
I chose coopmaster, that's why there's 12 of them
What do you think? @gloomy pine
its pretty good
i dont have a lot of complaints
I just did the math on the silos though, and I would need twice as many silos for all the current buildings, if theyre full :/
If I reduce to 8 coops and 1 barn, it just needs 1 more silo to last the winter
One of the things you can do is empty the hay into a chest and then refill the silo
oh okay. good to know.
Decided to make some changes.
Although I don't know if that works for a fully upgraded coop.
i'm making a plan for immersive farm 2 and i'm not really sure how to use this space so this is what i came up with and i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what i could do to make it look/function better
Stardew Planner sounds pretty fun.
i still don't know how i want to arrange everything on this farm
I personally prefer to keep crops right next each other rather than divide each section with paths like that. One thing you can do to fill in space in create paths between the crop areas and plant some trees
im kinda starting over on this area and i think it looks a lot better so far
found a few glitches. changed up the obelisks and changed the building mod i was using (so i can play with my friend who didn't exactly love the girly yellogs buildings hehe). I am loving this farm layout its working great on the play through
"girly yellow log building" were cool
But this new color scheme is fine...
I love the slime hutch building it's got a little slime sign outside
Does anyone know how to upload your Stardew Farm planner plan to upload.farm and render out?? Cant figure it out 😦
Click the purple button in the top right of the planner
When it's done rendering a message with a link will appear at the top left of the page, make sure you're scrolled up to the top or you can miss it
Also, welcome to the discord server :)
Wait, I can upload my Stardew Planner farm to the game?
I mean. With mods you can

thinking about expanding my botanical greenhouse so it has a larger crop area, storage room, and break room area...
Ooh wow
there is one space too many on the right in the crop room >.< its driving me bonkers
Oh no now I can't unsee it
I like this greenhouse
do i make the room one space smaller making it slightly smaller then the rest of the greenhouse.. or put an extra little space in the middle
hmmm....... it can't even be a symmetrical space because it's seven plots...........
Maybe you can put some plants there
putting plants on one side of the greenhouse is not something my ocd can do but maybe in the extra space in the middle...
maybe if you reduce it to six plots instead of seven, then you can make it symmetrical and put decoration in the middle?
losing space sucks tho
yeah but with my large farm maps a greenhouse isnt really necessary
I can imagine 😛
How many spaces are the upper rooms?
just the 16 tree plots
No I meant "pixel"
21ish on the floor
The room to the right seems to be a bit wider then the rest. Would removing a column work there?
i've already committed to putting decor in the middle of the lower room lol
that floor is toast
I have a silly idea, that row in the middle will be off no matter what since it is 7 spaces. You could shift 3 of the space over to the right 1 and split the middle one into rows of 3
that's cute!
idk if it's possible but could i recommend another entrance to the bottom half? i could see it maybe being a bit time consuming to walk all the way to the other side of the green house then to the other side again to reach your far right side crops :0
yes!! i think that would help a lot!! thank you sorry if i sounded nit picky fdslkjf
i just need to change out a tilesheet i realized i used the wrong one id need to get permission to use it >.> then ill give it a test in game it should be up today
and its on the nexus 😃
Yay!! 🙌🏾
you can't, but if you render it (top right corner), they'll display correctly
Hm. Okie.
@obtuse ridge can what is the name? Nevermind found it
@night eagle yay thank you and ahhh thank you I didn't notice the pop up button before
No problem!
@obtuse ridge that looks gorgeous! i'm using v3 of your greenhouse edit already but i'll definitely have to update once i harvest all the crops in the right hand room
Yeah I love it. I might make some personal taste changes (adding a basement since I like the look of the third room without stuff in it)
it looks gorgeous with the toned down sdv retexture too
modders who make nice evenly laid out building/farm edits are the backbone of our society..... my ocd thanks you
i dont know what to add or change, does anyone have suggestions?
Wow I love that layout
it's on immersive farm 2
do you not have any chickens?
this area i want to have crops and trees and storage
i would go crazy with all that space tbh but your layout looks great
yeah, i dont know what i want to add with the spaces in between everything
i'd be welcome to any suggestions on what i could do with the empty space
What is the thing you used for designing the farm?
the site linked in this channel's description!
it supports all the vanilla layouts and a lot of the popular modded ones
Ah thanks
does anyone have suggestions for my layout?
Trees might work out. Either the fruit or the regular ones
I don’t really like the trees in the planner so those random trellis crops are trees
There a reason why tress are just the tops?
as the fruit ones
it shows how much space it takes up
since fruit trees need a 3x3 free space
lmao whats a trellis even supposed to be like i dont think thats a real word tbh
or is it 🕵
yes it is get outta here with that drew!! this is a learning opportunity
i need to find a way to put vines on my irl house without damaging it
I just have a question is this channel for farms that were actually built or planned farmed or both?
Oh okay thank you
is there any website that you can simulate a farm layout or something like a planner
as in making a farm but not really making the farm in game?
or taking a screenshot of your farm?
Zald google stardew farm planner and theres a website
I dont remember the origional name
But i think its what most people use to plan their farms
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
Yeah that lol
The link is in this channel's description and pinned messages for future reference :P
exactly what im looking for thank you!
yeah it's kinda the purpose of this channel 😛
no worries though i know lots of people (myself included.....) don't think to read channel descriptions
yeah
It's always been there yes, but like you said E, it's very easy to forget to look there. I always forget to check the pins :P
I just mentioned it because Val said they forgot
my browser closed and my layout is gone and now im sad
how does the save function actually work?
do you have to have some sort of account for anything to actually save?
@warm linden
the save function gives you a specific URL for your planned farm
it basically reloads the page with the new URL
It's an unusual save style, but it's actual kind of nice because even if you close the tab you still have the url in your history, and it's a simple way to let you work on as many designs as you want
@gloomy marlin a trellis is a frame that is used to support plants growing up it, often for vines, ivy, and such. In stardew, the only trellis crops are green beans, hops, and grapes
As the take a photo of farm mod?
Or the one that does it by save that doesn’t work with mods
This is for with mods
For no mods you can always use
Upload.farm
map exporter?
Oops
Shh
first nexus link I saw
Ok this is what Moo said cause I’m lazy
There's https://upload.farm you can upload to, but it doesn't support modded maps... There's a mod you can use which can generate images of your map... https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1073
I copy and pasted there message
Pls don’t fine me for plagiarism
you have been fined for plagiarism

hi everyone
https://stardew.info/planner/wicked-goose-34/
I've had this plan for a while, but looking at it now, I don't quite like how everything is square-y and that tree tapper area in the middle is blerg.
anyone got some tips for me? or maybe could share something similar?
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
Welcome Wilss!
thanks c:
(@wild zinc You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
Some things you could try: either relocate the tree farm to the southwest part of the map, or make it irregular so it looks more natural, maybe around the pond. Your farming layout is efficient as far as sprinklers and huts, but you can also stagger the pattern in various ways to make it prettier or break up the sprinkler plots with beehives interspersed between them.
hmm that's true!
I think I'm gonna move the tree tappers to the SW as you said and I thought of something for the crops/beehives as well. thanks
heyo! i would also like advice... again
my plan thus far... you can ignore the area around the farmhouse i have that done already. i wanted advice on what i should do with that patch of land by the right ( next to the fenced in crops ) and if i should keep the one beneath that or not 🤔
this is not a money-efficient farm it's basically my aesthetic run through
also should i keep the trellis area that long or trim it shorter? the line by the shed
also @signal anchor i took a bit of inspiration from your junimo plan! i liked how you set it up a lot
Those trellis areas are going to be a pair to collect from unless you have extended the range of those junimo huts
i have a mod to collect crops with a scythe so it makes it way easier
P.S. there’s also a walk through trellis mod
Thank
oh hecc i forgot i was planning on getting that one
Lol
Hey its almost spring for my farm 2 more days and im starting to be prepared what can i do
This channel is more about farm design, but I would recommend figuring out where you want to plant your crops, which ones you're going to buy and how many of each. Check if you need to grow anything specific for a community center bundle. Other than that, you can't buy the crops until Spring 1. Also, you could fit in a last minute watering can or hoe upgrade if you still have time to get to the blacksmith's.
Hope that helps :)
Thx
this is where I got after your advice @frail salmon
https://stardew.info/planner/big-dragon-69/
https://upload.farm/plan/1H6ZQt
I still have some things to figure out, but I like it that it looks a lot more ~organic~ now.
and there's room to fit some more stuff
thanks
Hi! My friend recently got stardew and she has a river theme farm (honestly the most awkward farm to plan) but if anyone has made or finds a really nice design could they send it to me please :) tyy
r/FarmsofStardewValley: Share and discuss the farm designs you've created in Stardew Valley!

damn it odin
What?
i was looking for the same link and you beat me to it lol
Big oof
I'd like to think I can link to my own subreddit faster than someone else :P
well your thoughts are correct thats for sure
It's really just who sees the question first though :)
Hey, here's a plan I just put together. Any suggestions
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
No barns?
i could find a great spot.
couldnt
twigs are the plain tapped trees, stumps are fruit trees
maybe sacrifice a bit of fruit tree space? unless you're set on having that many
Yeah, that makes sense
yeah i see. i edited the paths a bit, so like this?
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
yeah that looks great!
Alright! thanks
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
hi guys can I have some advice
as you can see I have 3 15x15 squares with 8 iridium sprinklers, 4 scarecrows and 1 junimo hut each
for crops
I want to add another 15x15 square
where should I put it
and should I even bother cuz I apparently don't have enough starfruit, I'm in winter, my entire greenhouse is full of ancient fruit, I also don't have nearly enough fiber
whats that lil question mark, ive never seen that before
huh
hm you could put either an incomplete 15x15 block to the right of the pond, or push that fence over
you have a lot of flooring done, im ngl that might not be the most efficient use of space
but it does look nice
which fence
fence between pond and barn
just realized that if I put it right below the square on the right I only lose a few spots
the spot on the right if for my animals tho
actually I lose a lot more spots than that nvm
you mean the stone fence?
where do I put it
that wouldn't make a 15x15 area
OR you could cut down your orchard by like half, and put it to the left of the pond
or am I wrong
no it wouldnt be complete
but you can put down all the sprinklers, and won't lose feeding area for your animals
well you'll lose a lil
if you put it to the left of the pond your only loss would be the fruit trees, you dont have a lot of normal trees there anyways
I guess I can just put it below the 3rd square but some of the areas don't line up?
but I still have a 15x15 square?
HI KAMI!!!
if youre putting it to the right and moving it over a tile it wont be a full 15x14 square, and it wont line up
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
I just marked the area with crystal floors
oh yes that works!
also there's still the starfruit
should I just put a bunch of garden pots in my house
sure, you'll have to water them by hand tho
also
should I spend my battery packs on the sprinkers or should I just buy them from krobus
I also need the battery packs for crystalariums
winter is almost ending
depends on how many battery packs/how much money you have
I kinda don't want to spend the money this time
I spent a crapton on seeds and a deluxe barn with pigs
and I need the return scepter
yeah then make them!!
also should I move the area I marked down 1 square
otherwise I have to remove one of my furnaces to make a fence there
yeah
Saving a layout as a picture doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?
Apart from that, do you guys have ideas for this open space in my layout?
Flowers or trees (tapped)
The trees up by the shed and stable are tapped ones, and the flowers are(?) covered by the bee layouts
||moar||
The barns are for produce jars/kegs/crystallariums and the shed is for a neater storage
Better?
Thanks
It's gonna be on my new Android version
I tried a more open layout, where there are less fences. That seemed to be my major annoyance on Switch so I tried my best to limit it while still keeping it nice and neat
sparklers???? @burnt schooner
I figured you'd know where they are
Wait a sec. Sparklers? Do you mean sprinklers?
Probs
But where are the sprinklers for the fields left and right with these little green plants? Or do I miss something here?
They're in the center, one iridium sprinker each. I didn't have them in there because I thought everybody knew where it would be
the animals mods I've been using aren't going to be viable when 3.0 is released (because i dont want to convert them to the new system) so i trimmed down my animal section. What do you guys think of this little soccer area?
Do you mean the benches above the animals?
Couldn't tell it was soccer, as the goal post fences were reflected across too. the ball is too tiny for my eyes,
But it's fun. Add statues of kids playing to win
now to do the other 3 seasons
My sdv life has found new purpose
oh gosh winter turned out cute!
i love the christmas-y colors!
yay it looks good in game too! here is the spring map
now I see that person playing soccer and want to join
right!
i can't wait to see how the other seasons look.. but i have to play through because i tried to force season changes in my other game and things went wrong real fast
What map is that?
Ah
well sorta im in the process of making a new version that changes with the seasons
Maps like this are just Fucking boring
maps like what
Think pook’s map?
No need to be rude Mana
Mana I find the map to b nice. Yes it may not be nice for some people don't mean you gotta say mean stuff about someones map they worked hard on!
dude that's really uncalled for... everyone has their preferences and modders work hard on making maps to suit what different people like :/
if you don't like it, just don't use it, that kind of feedback is totally non-constructive and therefore unnecessary
^^ to all of that
Idk why it would be boring?? Pooka makes hella interesting maps
Make your own fucking maps then
Let's move on now guys, if you feel like someone is being rude, please feel free to dm bouncer about it! It's a very pretty map though, I love it!
yeah sorry
yikes looks like today was a good day to be busy modding... Marnie got an upgraded shop/house now on the nexus 😃
Oh that's really cool :)
thanks 😃 notice how there arent any doors to the bedrooms because doors suck! no matter what i did those doors kept deleting themselves and then crying about it
Who needs doors anyway :P
maybe marnie and the mayor.. i dont judge though
I like how all the different store items are out on display, it feels much more like a store
yeah! and no loose hay next to the fireplace lol that drove me nuts
hello? stardew doesn't have a fire department marnie we cant have hay next to the flame!
Haha I never noticed, but that does sound pretty dangerous
I need help finding out what terrain is meant for me
(@gloomy pine You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
Because i tried the combat area and its really hard to figure out how to crap and make room
Well, I'd start by looking over https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Farm_Maps, where you can see what each map looks like and some additional info
Only the wilderness farm has monster spawns, so you don't have to worry about that on any of the other maps :)
How i want my crops organized is the issue plus trying to find some way to even things out
Even thought the game gets harder due to seasons lol
the standard farm is good for farming focused
hilltop?
if you're looking to use a modded map, there are some really nice ones out but i actually haven't found too many versions of hilltop that do much more than add a bit of extra space? there is a bigger better hilltop tho
Ill try hill
Can I place a fence like this and still enter the barn? https://upload.farm/plan/1H8che
(@fresh cove You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
Yep! As long as you have a fence gate somewhere along the fence :)
yeah ofc 😄
And welcome to the discord!
thanks 😃
playing with mass farming ideas how efficient does this look?
Low-effort farm plan, what do y'all think?
low-effort as in there's as little hand work (aka crops that you have to water every day,) as possible
But Like, Without Sprinklers Because, Overrated,
Coop things don’t have much space
not much, but I think it's enough? for the grass to sustain itself
maybe not if they're both completely full, actually, hm
that's a good idea
How do you water stuff w/o sprinklers?
The watering can
^
True, higher level can better it waters
Higher lever watering can is great at the beginning
I finally planned one I'm happy with: https://stardew.info/planner/swift-newt-25/
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
Looks good, although you'll probably want more mayo machines, chesse presses, etc. if you have two coops and two barns
I love how neat the layout is!
I think it looks great. I like to put my animal product machines in the buildings anyways
Planner now has Farm Extended map:
https://stardew.info/planner/
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
I see the button, but it's not switching when I click on it
it is for me
Hmm, I'll try again in a bit, maybe something is just off right now
! welcome to the server
PRETTYYYYY
In the plots what are those huts?
you unlock junimo huts late game, the junimos will harvest your crops for you within a certain radius of the huts
You unlock them ||after CC and doing the wizards quest line, then you go to the wizard tower and build it at the book||
beautiful farm uwu
(@split meteor You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
@gilded hinge Looks good, but 7 silos is more than enough, you could probably get rid of a few
Or u could place 3 more
Or you could fill your farm with silos
(spring) cut down on the number of sheds ( had 1 too many), added in another shipping bin. Now i just have to test this out for the 4 seasons.
i think it looks a little better having the double rows of barrels by the sheds
WOW!!!
damn that's one of the best farms i've ever seen
I think this is getting nice. I'm quite happy.
^
Why can't you do symmetrical using their whole range?
It doesn't fit.
Oh, you mean like you don't want to use either more nor less tiles than you're taking in that screenshot?
Yeah, I want the area of my crops to be like that.
Like 17x17 is a must
That's the dimension of your crops, and you were saying that's the area you wanted to cover
(unless I didn't count right)
Mhm. 17x17.
I too like symmetrical patterns, so the map tends to make me suffer a bit with the weird shapes
I really like the coops there
if you were using those iridium sprinklers to their full capacity you could water 600 crops
instead of 264
ok (--:

How do I save my plan? I try to click on the "Save current plan" button, but it doesn't work, it doesn't open my file explorer for me to save it. Am I doing something wrong?

it saves onto the site, if you copy the URL of the saved plan you can access it again
Btw, you can slide over all the iridium sprinklers over to the right one and then use quality sprinklers on the ends. That may save you a few iridium sprinklers.
I think they know that, they said this is how they want their sprinklers set up
I thought they meant that they just want to have their crop field that big

Hey guys, so I have the river farm on pc, and I feel like I'm having a hard time farming outdoors or adding new buildings because of the limited space. What general tips do y'all have, besides creating a new save file?
What I see a lot of people do is give each island a specific purpose, so one section is for animals, one or two for crops, etc.
You can also use https://upload.farm/ to get a image of your farm that you could share here if you want more specific advice :)
@floral widget Using a river farm can be difficult if you want to maximize the economy of your sprinklers (i.e. have them watering grass and not, say, dumping water back into the river) but it is entirely possible to get a decent amount of farmland on the various islands- although it will be a bit more of a pain to move from area to area given the restrictive bridges. You can get a decent amount of land for farming on the main island where your house is, so long as you are willing to avoid putting things immediately next to your house.
Thanks for the advice! I'm upload my farm soon
I'm not able to find the map file. I am using the steam client stardew valley, so the instructions seem a bit unclear to me.
@torpid mist
pc huh
nvm, I got it
I was using SMAPI which alters save file names

it's not in that, it's a steam client app, therefor not a local app in my local computer. I was using mods . For ppl using steam they have to go into program files/steam/steamapps/stardewvalley
i use steam too lol
n i still can upload my map using that to get to the file
(@tight solar You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
Steam saves things everywhere
oh ok
@night eagle this is what I got. This is an old save. I got rid of the trees on the bottom left, moved the mill to the top left next to the greenhouse, and added an extra chicken coop in its place.
I kind of regret getting a river farm, I can't fish at all, like I really suck.
Well, you can certainly get better at fishing, it's difficult at the start, but as you level up you'll unlock better fishing rods which make it easier
And you can always eat things like trout soup
I was never able to catch a second fish on my own after the tutorial fish even after eating level up food, and it was year 3. I ended up resorting to the cbj mod. Not a proud moment in my life lol. I use a trackpad to play the game, so that may be a contributing factor.
Just become one with the click
Now that I have a rod that uses bait, I'm a bit better; I'd still rather have more land than water on my farm.
lol
What level is your fishing?
depends on where you fish too.
I couldnt catch a fish when it was raining near the ocean,
but then i went the next day to the mountains, and got a 2/6, "easier fish"
yeah that's what I heard. The only fish I am able to catch are the ones near the mines.
unsurprisingly the fish bundles are the only bundles I have left to do for the community center
@floral widget Seeing as space is tight on the river farm, if you ever reconsider the positions of the buildings on your farm, don't forget that you can use Robin's powers of telekinesis to move them from her shop menu, although you'll have to double check that you've cleared out the area on the farm that you want to use beforehand. As for leveling up fishing, it might actually be advisable to stick to fishing in easier areas (potentially even off of the dock on the farm) so that you can get reliable EXP from fish that are easier to catch.
Oh, you still have a little bar then. That bar gets much bigger the more you level up.
thanks for the comforting words lmao
When I first bought this game for $11 I thought the fishing mechanics would be closer to that of AC, but boy was I in for a surprise lol.
It gets easier. Of course, there's certain fish that will always be difficult.
@wind crow call me crazy, vut i prefer the random sticks and bushes on the ground. Gives it aloooot more "charm"
Crazy.
woh cool
its my longest standing farm, so i really went out to decorate it :3c
thank you!
Me likey.
@buoyant juniper whats the stuff thats covering the ugly dirt
oh right!
sorry about that
yeah weathered floor is the best looking floor out of all of em
so i just impulsively moved my coop and barn to open up that middle space (even though it's untillable) and added those 3 iridium sprinklers to the right of the junimo hut and it like doesn't look amazing but i think it makes the farm easier to navigate
also i wanted to grow more starfruit haha
looks really cool sam
ohhh that is pretty!
i love the darker dirt recolors
its a wittily named recolour if youre interested kami
Looks good Sam! I'd add a border to that extra row of crops so it's consistent with everything else, but that's just me
thanks guys!
at what point do you guys start implementing your plan?
I'd say the same, unless I'm certain there's nothing important except changes.
Omfg I love ur pfp
🅱, 10/10 pfp
Ducks>flower garden>Trees>some crops
I still don't know how to fill up this area tho
It's not about what to put there...it's about finding a nice looking layout
I have to keep the big path tho
for the tractor
quick mock-up
looks bad tho 😶
(@gloomy pine You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
looks good so far kelly (:
Designing a farm for my friends StJudePLAYLIVE charity event... those hearts aren't really what i wanted them to be.... thoughts?
its a mead farm btw thats why so many beehives
i like the idea of the hearts but there was a range issue with the hives all being within range of fairy roses... so instead of the pretty little pink/blue flowers i wanted i had to plant there
3 more season maps to do >.>
Designed something I'm pretty happy with. Thoughts?
Probably gonna go with cobblestone paths instead.
looks good :D
I always find myself wanting to enter from the side of fenced in areas with no gate
Jskd its like a curse, as soon as i put a fence there, suddenly i cant go there
Welcome to the server beta!
Sasquatch thats a super nice farm, altho i would recommend the cobblestone over gravel
Cause gravel does that weird thing where it has holes
Nice!
I want to make full of something but my other side says thats the best I can get
Dunno what to place there
I messaged in #multiplayer-lfg-old but I think that was the wrong place!
I'm trying to acquire a multiplayer code for my friend and I to use, is this the right place to ask for that?
@warm linden - is this something I need to ask you for directly?
If you mean a code for https://mp.stardew.info/planner/, then yes, Hpeinar will be able to help with that
That is indeed what I'm looking for 😃
(@copper wind You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
I have a question are you still able to upload farms to upload.farm if yu use a modded map layout?
(@rancid dawn You leveled up to Farmer. You're now a prettier shade of blue. Thanks for sticking around!)
I'm not sure about that Nommers, but it wouldn't hurt to try
hmmm well im gunna seeif i can upload a day 1 farm of a modded farm layout and if i can ill update after a little 😄
@night eagle do you have an idea when it would be best to try to get help from @warm linden ?
hmmm it only shows the standard farm XD doesnt show the modded layout
darn
upload.farm DONT SHOW YOU HAVE STARDEW MERCH...i clicked the ad and it said page not found XD
He'll respond as soon as he can, one ping is enough :P
kk
Oh sorry, I thought you meant the planner. No, upload.farm doesn't support any modded farm maps
its okie ill just upload a screenshot here when i get my farm up to date then :3
i at least tried 😛
If you use mods, https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1073/ is the best way to share your farm layout :)
The start to my little treasures/trophy room. Any ideas on what else i should put?
Lucky purple shorts
It's too bad you can't put the mayor's purple shorts in the museum.
I sadly did a dumb and gave them back to lewis a while back
I have now added the other 2 secret statues
Its a modern end table. Its gray in game but the lighting messed up the colours
Its a furniture item
You get it from the traveling cart (only a chance of finding it tho), or from the furniture catalog, which costs like 300k
200k
can you somehow import the plan into the game?
with a mod on pc, yes
oh what is it?
(@still dragon You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
thanks!
np! good luck
@craggy bridge hey sorry to bother you but when i click on the little chrome extension icon its not downloading a .json file. can you help?
I haven't used the mod personally, but it looks like there's a way to do it without the extension if the extension isn't working
if you type plan evil-impala-82 (replacing the last part with whatever your plan URL is) into the SMAPI window
what is SMAPI?
There's the problem maybe
SMAPI is the application you need to install before using any mods
oh k
you can get it from https://smapi.io/
@craggy bridge this is what its telling me
and i have the imported .json file but no game i can load
Where in the game are you when you're running that command? (i.e. in a savegame, in the title screen, etc)
yes, you should be in the game whose map you want to replace
I think im done my lil' treasure room
Anything i mightve missed or shouldve added?
glad it worked!
Thanks
Hey could I get some advise to where to put my sheds
What do you think about if the story was a little bit different to have to ways the game to develop...my idea is If your grandpa was friend with George and you must win the trust of the George to say you what does your grandpa do when he was owner of the farm...?
Nick, you should probably ask that in #stardew-spoilers, this channel is about farm design so I'm not sure you'll get any replies here :P
And Loki, if you post your current farm here I'm sure you could get some suggestions
recreation
that's so beautiful wow!!!!
Thank you!
lol your name. I wish yennefer was in stardew
Hello! I'm very excited to use the planner tool, but I'm having trouble finding the save file. I'm on a Mac, so the AppData folder doesn't work for me. What's the default save folder for Macs?
Hi ariadne, Mac hides a lot of application-related folders by default; the page Moo linked will show you how to get to it
No se donde estoy?
Thanks for the link! Is there any way to save a new layout from the planner website to that folder? I'd like to draft something new instead of upload what I currently have.
When I click the "save" button on the website it takes a little while. I assume it's saving the draft layout somewhere, but I don't see it in the config folder mentioned in the wiki.
(@slim island You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
When you click that, it's saving it as a unique URL on the website so you can revisit it later
If you want, you can use SMAPI https://smapi.io/ and the Plan Importer mod to transfer the layout onto a save file that you already have https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2071
Got it. Thank you!
np! feel free to ask in #making-mods-general if you have any trouble with it :)
I'm playing on mobile, so I'll probably do it by hand. This is a great resource to have if I ever pick up my steam account again, though.
Hey okay my farm is absolutely disgusting and unplanned and gross but
I need a better crop layout than this
each quadrant has 52? tiles but
i can only fit 3-4 of these segments and i'll have little room for anything else after
tks
It's modular yes?
Well, whoever you're playing with may want stables as well, but other than that it looks good :)
the houses are more for astetic but i can place a stable nexto to the houses
@night eagle im looking more for what to do with the big blank space
That's what I was going to ask lol
lol
Bees maybe?
already have a million
the horse stable fits thee
Plant some more regular trees for tapping?
Yeah, trees for tapping are always good
qill try now
Also, I dislike the top part. It feels lazy to cover it with wood flooring
I still don't know what to do with this area
The incubators are placeholders for Rice boxes
? wht are rice boxes?
oh lol k
Looks good! 👍
k thanks
ooh very nice
pretty but not alot of eficency
im going for a combo of the two and my design is pretty spaciouse
tho i probably will decorate my farm
I meant just the rectangle part
oh
idk
seems like a waste of huts
and anyways i need 3 more horse stables and its the prefect with
thanks for the input!
thinking about getting rid of the no crow mod (since im still getting plots eaten) where to put scarecrows in the beehive area though >.> i could take the flower off one side of each area by the chests.. or take out the first tree in the middle tree rows...
Oo fancy
yeah this map changes with the seasons so its actually 5 maps spring year 2+ assumes you've built all the buildings and hard puts in some stones that restrict buildings from being made
currently testing it to make sure it all works as intended but i keep changing things lol
Bad idea, but since, after the flowers are grown, you don't need scarecrows,
You could remove some potted flowers, place the scarecrow, and have a less optimal farm for a week or two, and then fix it later with fully grown flowers?
i auto grow the flowers as soon as i plant them.. crows dont eat fully grown flowers?
i thought i had some getting eaten on a previous test farm
How about here?
yeah that's what i was thinking it would cover all the crops and not make the flowers look wonky
scarecrows cover more than you think i don't think you'll need four unless it's for designs sake
