#farms-and-outfits

Yup!
I place wooden path under my sprinkler
just learn about that in y6, can u imagine
the more you know
i suppose my farms look like butt compared to these done on the planners.
@chrome grotto it works with any "machine"!
@fathom night You could share your farm here if you want help with planning it out :)
Why do people use sheds?
I assume they want it for keg storage.
Why not just use barns instead?
More expensive but comes with much more capacity.
@loud void most people who play on PC use upload.farm
@harsh wyvern I think some like the aesthetics of the shed or need it for space reasons.
@loud void You can use https://upload.farm/ or https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1073/? to capture your farm
I personally prefer sheds because I have no interest in min/maxing the game and I think it looks better than using barns
@night eagle hard to do on android, when playing ps4 heh
Very true :P
trying tomdo it on android is so buggy, blugh.
Well I guess you can build the farm in the planner
Yeah, if you're on ps4 and want to share it, either build it in the planner, or go to robin's, select move buildings, take some screenshots, and stitch them together.
here we go, this is how i setup mine... havent gotten far enough for slimes, totems, etc.
i didnt plac everything mind you. like full rows of trees, kegs, jars, etc.
I think you should add another barn to the bottom field.
Yeah, I agree. That's a lot more grass than you need for one barn, so you could either put another one or turn part of that area into a space for something else
i use theshed for storage chests normally.
was thinking of cutting the bottom field in half for slimes at some point. dunno yet.
also, my experience with animals is that the run out of grass if i dont overdo it.
Half the field size and use it for a bee farm. : )
i do have to smaller bee areas though.
as a whole it seems ok? i know its not optimized.
made some changes to my farm. I was just overwhelmed planting that big of a crop field so i made it smaller added fowl pens planted some trees.
@tired tinsel helped me with cp for the dutch buildings (winery and tractor unskinned) i dont think they look terrible but they do stick out a little
i can try to do the winery
im 90% sure they just reskinned the slime building for it at least thats what it shows up as on the farm uploader
when u add new buildings, it does that
its like a placeholder, so if u dont have the mod installed, it wont crash
oooh that makes sense
thanks 😉
there were tractor files for the stuff you changed last night
not sure if they didnt work or it was late and missed em 😃
working on the slime hutch/winery thing right now 😃
i think i have to uninstall the sauvignon mod to use this
isnt the point of the winery texture to change the look of the sauvignon?
if u remove it then what will it change?
maybe i got the wrong mod?
https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2709?tab=files this one takes the slime hutch and makes it a brewery/winery
I pulled up your old farm to compare, good changes! I like the section right above the lake. I assume the sprinklers by the trees are some sort of modded thing?
Also, a suggestion, I think the iron gates would fit the look of the farm a lot better.
i put sprinklers by the trees to keep them from setting on fire in the summer 😦
iron gates? i only saw wooden ones
yeah im looking now i just have "gate" made from 10 wood. The only iron i have is fencing
jessebot is a saint for putting up with my pookbrain Now everything matches!
nm i found the iron gate mod
but i dont think i can use it because it overrode my hedge mod and i have no clue where to get the iron gate recipe for a game in progress
*fixed the hedge problem but even after i set the config for iron gates they arent in my game
So your trees don't catch fire? Is that a mod thing?
no its a sprinkler thing
even before i got any mods if i put sprinklers on my outdoor trees they didnt catch fire
Huh
I've never had a tree catch fire
Is it because you don't have any lightning rods and this is another option? I never knew this was a thing
um i cant remember if i had lightning rods or not i just started putting sprinklers on all my outdoor trees
simce when do trees catch fire?
Fruit trees can get hit by lightning and turn to coal tree for a few days
i might just be crazy thinking sprinklers help lol but i havent had a tree get zapped doing it
I could be wrong, but I don't think they do anything to affect that
ugly farm 😦
i wanna focus on farm animal products, farming produce, & put a slime hutch in.. but i have no ideas and i suck at planning
Not ugly :P just a work in progress
i feel like buttecheek bc its almost year 2 and its so empty
That's why stardew is so great though, you can be on year 8 and not have a fully decked out farm and still have fun, you can do everything at your own pace and stuff
I didn't fully make my farm until year 3
true, im having fun but i keep getting wrecked in the skelli cave so i might as well make it pretty and be ready for spring !
maybe ill spend the rest of winter clearing it out?
Sounds like a plan :+1:
im looking at the top rated ones on upload.farm and theyre sooo beautiful D:
Ill se if i can find mine
Well
You could achieve that pretty fast but
Stardew you just play at your own pace
I dont remember actually
I still get golden firequartz every day
lol
But yeah, its pretty maxed
Nope
how do you upload again?
@wanton sandal I think it looks pretty good! This was the beginning of Winter Year 1 on my most recent farm. https://upload.farm/static/images/4/1FomeD/1FomeD-m.png
oh wow so yours looks kinda like mine!!
ok i feel a little better
im just scared to chop down all my trees what if i run out of wood (as i have a 999 stack....)
The first 2 years i really didnt know that much
yeah, i had a multiplayer game i had w my boyfriend and all i did was farm, all he did was fish. now i started a game by myself and im like woah theres so much more???
https://gyazo.com/cc5c05ce0792b574801a6a5e07752e21 ive been working more on my skills than making it pretty
@wanton sandal and this is my farm at the end of Winter Year 2 https://upload.farm/static/images/5/1Ga1se/1Ga1se-m.png
!! goals
ok i can do it :3
so if you chop almost all your trees down, do you just go out in foraging areas for them? the no tree farms scare me
you still have a lot of trees!!
You can save some in One of the corners
@wanton sandal you're gonna need a lot of wood for start up, so personally what I did was
let the trees go wild
on year 1
and stock
Dont chop them down unless you need more space or wood
yeah i have a 999 stack and another stack growing too
Save some
@rigid grail lovely
In regards to wood, the Cindersap forest regrows trees fast. You can also replant trees on your farm. On thing that I do is plant trees at the train station/spa area. Once they fully grow, I chop them down and replant. You can also do that in the quarry.
calico desert is a nice little pocket allowance for wood chopping
yeah ive been getting a lot of wood from the forest but i didnt know if that would be enough for the coming years?
My attitude on this farm was to only clear out space that I needed. Everything else was let go.
as well
thats how i still have so many trees
especially during winter
im currently diving hard into skull cavern almost every day
lol
i dont evven know what else i need to use my wood for ..
unless i make another barn or coop
so far i've raked up 999x11 stacks of iridium ore
Calico Desert would also be a great place to plant trees.
lucky.. as i have 3 iridium bars... cries...
Kegs. And casks.
im crying for oak sap right now
I dont save mine anymore, i wont need them
because im starting my keg journey
on year 2
so i leave the oaks at cindersap and the bus stop alone for tapping
xD
That is smart Lizzy! Plant 20ish oak trees and you'll have plenty of resin in no time!
thanks ❤
the first thing i did was tap some trees bc my first game i was crying for resin & maple
here's my current. pretty plain, but planting and getting ready for winter
and slowly stocking up on kegs
It's looking good! What do you have planned for it?
just gonna rake in a few mils, so i can do some wild shopping later on if i need to finally spruce up my farm for vanity
and right now, planting oaks
for kegs, kegs and more kegs xD
although technically, i already have more than 4million worth of iridium ore stacks and ingots ( such a miser, i know xD )
love it looks really good!!
lol noobs stardew planner is banned in my country
That’s unfortunate
Why is it banned?
VPN to use it? Google banned in China, but Google maps still the most popular maps app
just install HolaVPN browser proxy, or whatever service that suits you
its usually good enough compared to whole VPN service or setting up proxy on your network connection
lol, did someone really go into the trouble and ban it?
or does your internet work on a whitelist basis rather than blacklist
most of the time, its because of ministry of technology doesn't give a damn and blocks entire IP block
interestingly, it's one of the few game-related pages that my office's filtering software doesn't block.
very helpful but niche thing, so I doubt it's included in the large databases they use for that
yeah, compared to other game-related pages it really is small
Yeah, there's no way it was singled out. Likely just part of a sweeping ban
this is my 700th time redesigning my farm but having sections is making my brain calm so i might actually stick with this. any suggestions on where to put truffle/egg/cheese machines?
yeah that's what i had before which is probably best
or maybe just everything in the barn since it's bigger
Well I have automation mod and better auto collectors mod
So I just have the auto collector with a chest and cheese makers, oil makers, looms next to it
that mod is so tempting but i'm holding off for now
Just don’t be like me and once you have cjb item spawner on you can’t turn it off
hahaha yeah that's exactly why i haven't downloaded those
yeah @fluid dagger they did, planner has been open source from the beginning
Yeah I put the animal related machines in the coop or barn that they belong in
If i place a scarecrow in front of a hut would that block them in?
@jovial quarry in 1.2 it does block them in.
@tardy garnet I like putting cheese press and mayo machine in the barn/coop that way I don't have to carry stuff as far.
okay! i think i'm ready for spring!
(obviously it'll look nicer when the trees grow in)
I like it! If you want to ensure a huge explosion of grass for your animals, plant grass starters on the last day of Winter (or any season).
aw crap i just got to spring 1 i didn't realize they would stay in the season change
ah well, next time!
and thank you!
i never know where to put trellis crops bc somehow wherever i put them they get in the way
If you're planting with no sprinklers. 3x3 plots like a number pad, with spot 2 empty, is very efficient.
With sprinkler. You can mix trellis on the inside or mix and match non trellis crops to maximize use.
If you are willing to potentially lose harvests due to rain, you can pack them with no spaces and let the Junimos harvest them.
(The barn is meant to be Deluxe, where it fits.)
Cool just there’s a bit much farming space and not much animal space
I have concerns about how you read the bottom entrance of the farm with that design :P
I like the center design, am I correct in assuming you have a junimo hut related mod?
one of the ideas i sent to the mod maker for farmhouse enhanced. (learned you cant put things to the left of the kitchen it messes up house warping)
Might help is there was a door up from spouses room or master bedroom to showcase/fake bed
It looks like a long walk
no currently we'd have to go upstairs to access those rooms.. not sure how hard it would be to put in access from another point downstairs
I. See. U right
I was concerned about waking up and walking to those rooms might be tedious.
But the farm is big too 8P
i want a big house 😃
Looks good. What u mean
the path down is zigzaggy 😃 but if it doesnt bother you the rest looks good to me 😃
I plan to do stuff
🚔 troll alert troll alert 🚔
@somber sorrel Make sure you have proper scarecrow coverage for everything, including flowers. Don't forget a stable if you want one of those.
WildZooey will have my dream house up on the nexus by the end of the weekend if anyone wants it 😃 There are some small tweeks to make but here's the main layout
Wow that looks really nice
That does look really nice 80

Woah, that's so cool!
That looks awesome!
@night eagle I knew i'd forgotten something lol
decided i should build something on my farm map that i created
cuz i never use my own mods
pretty!
Oh that was your farm! I like when stuff on the subreddit is posted here so I know who made it :P
I tend not to look at reddit names to be honest
Unless someone's replying to my comment or I'm replying to theirs
@obtuse ridge Could there be an option to not have anything in the kids room, for those that don't want kids? xD
WildZooey has those options for all the other layouts.. i think that might be whats still in the works this weekend
i can message them and suggest it though 😃
Heh, thanks. I love that house layout but don't plan to have kids so would love that room to decorate. I wish I could mod so I could update a mod that makes it so your spouse never asks to have kids
You could always head over to #making-mods-general and
a) See if that mod exists already or
b) Get a sense of how much work that would really be and if you could do it yourself :)
it does exist it's just outdated
@hidden silo there's another kids mod which makes them parrots, im pretty sure it's up to date
I'd rather just not be asked in general. 😃 Thank you though
just dont get full hearts with your spouse 😃
for a farmer who tries to do a bit of everything, what would be the best farm layout?
Still depends.
If you do some of everything, you might not have the most time for everything.
I feel foraging and fishing take the most time, and so that might help.
Fishing you can just have like a day that you do it on
Eg if it rains and not max luck fishing
If max luck mining
Hello guys i'm new here. Im wondering, is it possible to use Farm Planner and export the edited savefile back again to play it on PC? I mean the edited farm in Farm Planner.
I press the Save button, but no changes on my local save file. When I load the game it is unchanged
The save button generates a unique url so you can save your plan and work on it later
I believe there's a mod that does what you're asking, but the planner doesn't support that by itself
Also, welcome to the discord!
I've used it year ago and i remember it worked. Dont know how caouse I can't remember but it worked. I've deleted the bushes from my farm to get more space and somehow I could save the changes and play the game without bushes on my farm.
(@lucid crystal You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
Well if you're on forest farm, I believe you can just clear the bushes in the game.
Here's the mod I mentioned, that should be what you're looking for: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2071?tab=description
Thanks dude, i'll check it out!
👍
how do you have houses like that?!
i contacted the mod maker and asked if extra rooms could be added. We talked through a few ideas and that is the result 😃 It should be up on the nexus to download Sunday or Monday
not really sure how much i like this layout its kind of a work in progress adding in more animals
What is that building that looks like it has a swimming pool out front?
slime hutch wineries?
Anybody got some cute tree farm designs? Not looking for anything huge, just nice
Would it be overkill to have a whole forest of fruit trees outside as well as in the greenhouse? (I use More Trees mod so there's a ton of trees xD)
Depends, how much you like fruit 8)
It's your farm, go crazy! :)
Experiment! Fruit tree farm only! xD
Does it expand the tree amount? or replace the trees that are in the base game?
Expand. You still have the vanilla trees and the mod adds more. I think in total there were between 20 and 30 trees including the vanilla ones
@hidden silo i talked to WildZooey they are adding in the option to get rid of the spouse room and nursery for the house. The buildings you asked about on my farm are winery's. I think Jessebot was right they are from the slime hutch winery mod. I replaced the files from what was in the Sauvignon mod
Cool, thanks. 😃 I like the spouse rooms just wanted to get rid of the kids beds. I'll look forward to it
I also use the Meat mod so I get a tree that grows jerky. xD
-Somebody ping me if you can help me plan a farm since I'm helpless lmao
You can post your current or hopeful. And go from there.
I tried to plan my farm from scratch. Turns out I needed way more money than what I had winter 1
So I had to redo everything to set up for lucrative plans before the nice looking ones
you have loads of space
you could space out your barn and coop more and plant more grass for your livestock
I still have to clear stuff since I just started this save
Don't forget you need scarecrows to cover that crop area. It's a good start though
I didn’t add details like scarecrows but yeah
dont clear out ur farm all the way. expand bit by bit
It's good to have some furnaces and stuff like that, so I'd either have a space for those or build a shed that they can go in
Other than that, maybe extend a path to the bottom entrance of the farm so you don't have to spend as much time clearing a path after every season change
Do you think you could help me design I nice farm with this stuff? I’m awful at thisssss
A
Your plan is pretty good! Is there anything you feel like it's missing?
Also, I didn't really start planning my farm until winter of year 2 because early on you just don't have as much to work with
what's the best map for planning a good farm
Some people prefer the basic one for its space.
The wilderness one isn't bad too.
Fishing is supposedly hardest and next hardest is foraging one.
yo can somone check out my plan and lmk if im missing anything
the barns are for storage and artisan machines
@somber patio That's a very subjective question, I've seen great farm plans for every map
@jolly goblet You may want more than three trees of each type, but other than that I think you have everything except the obelisks
I guess I would say forest or hilltop in that case, because you have smaller spaces to work with and maybe that would be easier for you? It's tough to say
I think you need to put your coop and other farm else where
Ya i tried hilltop
but
it's difficult to know hwat to build in a squishy place
It's tough to just start from nothing and figure out where you want everything
Yeah, if you don't know where to start, look at what other people are doing
this is a good foraging farm https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2937
if u dont have enough space
ok i will try it out
changed my farm up again to get more animals. I really tried to like more of a winery type farm but i just love the animals. Still upgrading the coop that will be for rabbits if anyone makes a mod to turn them into something else.
@jolly goblet nice layout. ive been trying to figure out a nice way to use barns for storage and artisan stuff.
This is what I have right now, minus the barns in the bottom left.
Thoughts?
The barns (on the bottom left) i havent put in yet, its just a blank area. I noticed from goblin's layout above it looks like a nice idea.
@obtuse ridge What farm layout is that? the one you posted
It doesn't look like any of the farm maps off the top of my head
default
my apologies
Do you know what farm layout that is that Pookachu did post?
i think pookachu is a modded wilderness map?
Ah, so it is modded
Just making sure that's a mod and that I'm not just going senile or something
or perhaps default wilderness. Buildings are from a mod, but i dont think the map itself is modded.
ive only used default myself. but i find about 1/3 of it i dont really use for anything normally
and im used to just having a single shed beside my house.
I've used all of them except wilderness
I hate combat in this game, no reason to ever touch the wilderness
fishing... the bane of my existence. i can never seem to get it right.
I can get level 10 fisherman within spring of year 1 lol
I don't enjoy fishing, per say
But damn do I enjoy MONEY
And fishing = big money
im just trying to get a bit of everything for the trophies 😄
one save, get em all done
but i dislike having to go hardwood farming.
Have you considered fishing so well you get everything else you need from fishing treasure?
Legitimately you can get more diamonds as level 10 fisher than miner if your luck is right lol
Pretty sure hardwood is also a treasure
pookachu is using wilderness
o7
i jever thought about fishing for resources. was planning a great crystalarium barn
Yea if...
I just started a new save and I'm planning my farm again, what do you guys usually put in the space between the cliff and the greenhouse?
Is it a default farm layout
Yeah
(@noble minnow You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
currently i just have some trees but i feel meh about it
@potent dew its the wilderness map modded to lose the lake in the middle 😃
Am I missing anything?
also those waiting for the new house to hit the nexus WildZooey messaged me last night that its taking more time then expected they ran into a few bugs.. hopefully it will be ready by next week
Thisisenolia, scarecrows.
Also. Maybe beehives if you want
Nvm. I see the beehouses. Nice
@noble minnow Don't forget lightning rods
Thank you!
I think im happy with this.... only thing i dont have on there is a windmill but i dont intend to use one
Are those truffle-finding bears? Because that is the cutest thing ever.
yeah 😃
I have the merchant pig as my truffle finders
that looks nice
lol i changed things again. I was happy with the layout but i felt the cows and sheep needed more space. I got rid of the doves and gave the livestock more room, the fowl less room.
i think the thing that i like most about this one is how easy it is to get around having the paths between the livestock is nice
Interesting. Is there enough space for a horse for all those paths
i dont know if it can fit down the single paths (i think they can its just awkward. I'm looking to see if i can find a slightly wider map with no lake
at this point i never take the horse out though i have warp points all over, extended mine cart, and the scepter back home. He's just a lawn ornament at this point
I see. That makes sense then
They can walk straight through vertical fences too I think?
I like how it's looking so far (not going for the optimal setup, just something pleasing for the eye). I just don't know what to put in the rest of the space. Any ideas?
Pleasing for my eye*
that's just with the planner, It's not actually in the game yet
^
Maybe put more paths leading down to the entrance of Marines ranch, and line them up with flowers? And add maybe a storage shed?
@fathom night Thanks man
making my farm based from your layout. mine should look fun once done
@fathom night awesome! im pretty sure i have most of the basics. if you have any questions feel free to ask
😃
🤔
does anyone have any clue how i could recover my plan if i only have the upload farm picture?
upload again and go to the planner?
i got the upload from the planner ;-;
if there are any kind souls 89574
out there that know how to get the plan back im all ears
sorry about the random numbers my cat ran across my keyboard
Lol
I don't think you can recover the plan, be sure to save and bookmark it next time! If you are basing that on your current farm, you can upload your farm to save some time. Also, scroll down on the planner and read through the keyboard shortcuts so you're not wasting too much time placing stuff again
Tell you what though, I'll get you half way there: https://stardew.info/planner/dry-gecko-37/
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
Try not to lose your save again @jolly goblet :P
love you @night eagle i am forever in your dept
Don't worry about it
@fervent cape nice catch
Did you mean to post that in #making-mods-general?
opps yeah
Not out for release (yet) but WildZooey gave me the files to test. Final version will have the decor removed from the spouse room. Cellar entrance is hidden you just walk through the area to get down there. I'm so in love with this house.
whoa

That looks awesome!
How big of a house do you need?
a giant one is what i want
maybe like a indoor swimming pool
with a garage with a lambo
about 29 living rooms at least
This is Stardew Valley, not Doctor Who
XD
wildzooey says it cant get any bigger there is a hidden thing that makes your game implode
so you can have a swimming pool but you have to give up the library or something
how would it implode? i think the only restriction for mapmaking is it has restrictions on the height (156px)
i didnt ask
When your house is too big, concerned ape appears in your house and explodes it.
just wanted to share because I finally have a layout I like and it looks so pretty in fall ☺
nice
a tapped mushroom tree?
possibly mods
fun
Oh. Cool
tappers on mushroom trees is vanilla!
gives common (brown), red, and purple mushrooms
^
I've never seen a mushroom tree.
You should submit that for the weekly farm thing!
That's a gorgeous layout, Samantha!
first save's farm layout is nearly complete after 10 years!
That looks fantastic Nyx! I love it.
thank you!
You should def. submit it for the featured farms deal
I might, after I finish cleaning up the slime hutch area and adding a little pathing/grass where it's needed 😄
the slime team's the greeting squad
Is that a stone owl?
Are the bottom barns sheds?
@native saddle yep!
Hey just made a planner what do you all think also just joined the server.
Can't seem to post it for some reason.
(@strange plover You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
Now you can send it
Gets the job done though.
You could maybe have a few more bee hives
Haven't really tested it all yet still building but I wanted the cheese part to really stand out and to incorporate basic stuff like chickens and stuff.
I didn't really think much on the bee hives I could fit a few more I'm sure but its a start consider its my first farm.
Ha see what you did there with the Twitch symbol. XD Nice farm!
Yea well that was the only thing that would fit in that small space
though I don’t use twitch much
Also thanks
I was just going in with the thought to fit everything into a well designed layout and fit a theme into the mix.
I'm just missing 3 barns and some trees and I'll be able to start buying goats and crafting more cheese presses.
I'm slowly getting my keg number up but till I have the barns in the top left I don't want to fill all my space with them.
Also its on the switch version of the game.
Вы чувствуете запах как Эберль
@gloomy pine Consider this a verbal warning for Rule #3. Please keep chats to english only, and please familiarize yourself with the #445729663885639680.
revisited this farm since I got some new mods and the new house. I might redo the garden area later after i get to level 20 in the deep woods for that obelisk.
Its funny that the way you put it rn has it seem like the house is as big as the farm
Otherwise.
I think you can add a row of crops on the right side of the junimo hut. But staggering the crop and sprinklers more efficiently
yeah those are also basic sprinklers i can upgrade them. My family decided today was the day to start the remodel on the bathroom in my bedroom though so that will have to wait
I was thinking about it.. how great would it be to get a greenhouse like this made? Its got extra tree boxes for the fruit and veggie tree mod- lots of dirt plots to plant crops in... sprinkler friendly.. pretty.. and a little statue /flower garden area and a storage room so you can keep all the goods in one spot (remote fridge).
Tree is a mod like that with space for trees
dont u already have that mod
oh? ive been using 2cute greenhouse v2 but i want a cp mod
the 2cute doesnt easily hold all the trees
u have 8x8 iridium sprinklers?
5x5
ok
except i took the mushroom boxes out and put statues and flowers in
oof gonna take a while
I'm not good at it too Ash, which is why it took me 11 years to finalize the layout
😂
Toootally understood that feeling
(now another 11 years for forest farm HAHAHAHA)
Good luck!
You too- happy planning!
that is beautiful @copper finch you should submit that for the weekly farm
AHAHAH thank you
and I did actually, just without the house and clock mods!
That off center clock is not ok
Please add other row of path on the right and move the clock over one so it's balanced
What are those areas for anyway?
@sudden cove For future kegs, maybe, or flower barrels, if you're referring to the wooden pathing
the grass area is for harvesting at fall so my animals won't get pissed at me when winter comes
@night eagle

Yeah I meant the pathed areas.
@mild plaza all the unnecessary fencing will get annoying
I like it. The upper plot can be changed to accommodate iridium sprinklers really easily (lower plot not so much)
But ye. Fences. Do get annoying
(and I think chicken can escape 1 tile wide spaces)
I just didn't put gates
Lol
i switched over to this greenhouse while I wait for the masterpiece Jessebot is working on.. holy cow its HUGE. it took me 4 days to plant it all
That looks great, just keep going! :)
forgot such a channel existed o.0
spent the whole day doing this
when i finally 100% my standard so that i can finally move onto a new farm layout
thoughts on the design?
i have 2 chickens, 2 cows, a goat, and 2 pigs
satisfactory enough for me
had a duck long time ago for bundles
3* chickens, forgot a void one
ah, the twitch one
nice
i got ideas from the subreddit standard ones
that's a lotta sheds

on the other half of the farm
personal issue~
just like an efficient farm
no-exp-waste-attitude
want to my daily's in the least amount of time
i say that, yet my totem tele's are in a bad spot for practical use
There ok
Never used the Riverland farm
😮
i've never tried river farm
.-.
uh... move main farm spot closer to house?
im probably only fisherman in this DC server...
i think main farm spot is good for now
Just one question, Why the well next to a river?
(@opal pagoda You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
@opal pagoda because i wanted
i wanted to build something
not a big upgrade but it'll make more money for me soon
@gloomy pine i dont think your gonna make a lot of money with that lol
Tappers :3
maaa
its anoying to fill
i dont know if you will have the power to fill them of bait everydays
@crude hearth ohhh i really like that
@crude hearth The design looks good! A few things though, you have a lot of flowers all over the place, but no sprinklers or scarecrows for them. Maybe hide the scarecrows behind trees? Also, if you add a few flowers by the beehives, the honey they produce will sell for more. And are you playing with other people or are the cabins just for looks?
worked a little bit on my farm this morning tell me your thoughts plz
It looks good, although the golden clock might look better in a different spot. It just looks like it was put in a corner
that clock is so ugly lol i have to mog it not only does it look smaller but it doesnt stick out as much
Hide it behind the obelisks? 😅
I changed my house around a bit (decor) still waiting to get rid of the stuff in the spouse room (there might be a mod to do that now ill have to look), what do you guys think about getting a pool table or something where this fish tank is in the game room?
wait, what is this? a mod?
the house isnt released yet wildzooey is still working on a the different versions of it
it should be on the nexus soon (tm)
no wildzooey did! it was my idea so i get to help test it out
that's a pretty nice one!
oh sweet i found this https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1374
that will look so good in there
Ah ok
There you go, I just finished my hill-top farm (prob gonna be my end famr game)
i like the clock in that new spot
ty
i worked really hard on this farm
hope you like it
as i do
Now i just need to do this in game
That looks great! You should submit it to @gritty cloak for the weekly farm plan thing
@night eagle how do i do this ?
Click on them in the sidebar, then view profile, then send message
Then you just send your farm image :)
@tired tinsel I was too lazy to put some but eventually trough my gameplay i will put some and add some furniture here and there
👌
flowers need constant care as well as scarecrows? thought it would be as easy as an item placed on the ground
On the beehives, I could move the 3 chests lower and replace it with greenery instead.
Before i added the cabins, junimo hut, and lightning farm I had all of that blank space because I’ve never really actually used them in-game (cabins and hut). So really that’s just to fill in space while the cabins can also be used as extra space.
thinking about it... by the time i get this ‘endgame’ farm i would be making tons of money per day
i would like chests closer to the hives/tapped trees for efficient storage
There's decorative flowers as well as crop flowers. If you're buying them as seeds from Pierre's they'll need watering and scarecrows, yes. If you're just buying decoration stuff from Robin, then no.
The beehives need the crop flowers for the benefit, the wiki shows which flowers are best https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Honey
must’ve misread on beehives
thought natural trees were to produce the improved honey
it is only a prototype design
i’ll change some little things here and there~
even after i posted that pic yesterday, i forgot scarecrows on my junimo hut farm as well as tripling the lightning rod farm
Hey guys after doing my first farm plan i just want to make some more farm
So if you could dm me for doing some famr in my lost time to improve myself
So just let me know what kind of farm you want and i will try to design it ty !
does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to plan a farm? New player here. I've had the game for about a month and i've put in about 60 hours thus far (on the Switch).
Welcome to the server tcake! I would honestly recommend that you don't worry about it too much at the start, unless you really have something in mind. I didn't really focus on planning until winter of year 2. I don't know about a best way to plan, but I always find that looking at other farm plans helps generate ideas.
If you do put together a design on the planner, you can share it here and people can give feedback :)
i start planning on year 1 winter
for me the most important thing is what kind of farm do i want? crops? wine? animals? a mixture? once you figure that out you can plan on how much space you will need for each aspect.
My latest farm started out as a massive wine production but i discovered that wasnt for me so I transitioned into animals with a large greenhouse
Oh yeah im still making that greenhouse
i found one to use until you get it done 😉
its WAY too big though lol
you know when I say somethings too big its toooo big
one im making is very "forest-y"
hii! im in need of some help with the stardew planner website, its currently not loading up at all and i ant find any alternatives for the planner,
(@shut junco You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
thank you everyone! I'm currently on summer Year 2, and I am thinking of leaning towards animals and some wine production.
Do you have any tips for me on animals or the best fruits for wine?
I have been playin multiplayer with my sister (halfway through my first spring) but even though we are really early we played this game a ton so I was thinking about redesigning our farm planner and I was wondering because I want to create a really good plan what tips I should use in the making of my planner?
Tcake. Wine. Most people use ancient fruits. If you seedmaker a few of them. You'll grow them fast and have a similar keg to fruit ratio
For a good planner. Usually I'd recommend going from in game. Your costs and resources would limit you a lot more than other options. Slime hitch looks cool but is ... A big waste of money and resources.
(farm plots might be good to be built in 15x15 sizes. As it's easily sprinkler filled with quality and iridium sprinklers)
Im a little confused except for you talkin about the wine and farm plots?
I was meaning about like making a planner for like the farm we work towards like our end goal?
(@gloomy pine You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
Wine is for tcake
As for end goal. I feel the best way to approach it is just going along casually. No need to rush into min max aesthetics like joja
When winter comes. You can then plan and rearrange more.
Sure it costs more resources with new fences or moving or tiling different crops. But it's a lot easier or more fun than trying to build it all out from the beginning
I think you think I'm talking about in game when I'm talking about the actual stardew planner website
@signal mesa thank you so much! I received an Ancient Fruit from the Community Centre, so have been turning all the fruit from that single plant into seeds atm. I need to make more kegs, and ideally some casks.
anyone know why the planner isnt working??
is it not?
nope
seems to work for me without problems
as shown a screen shot above
what kind of issues are you seeing?
thats been on the loading screen for 5 hours now and still no change
just reloaded the page and it continues to say loading farm
what is your farm url ?
this url right?: https://stardew.info/planner/
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
yes that url
well it isnt for mee
but I have no reason to think it wouldn't
try different browser? do you have latest version of whatever browser you are using?
chrome should work fine, never heard of torch, internet explorer probably doesn't work, edge might
as i scroll on edge. this happens, same on chrome
it fails to load something it needs, either the image or some of the source files it uses
are you in a corporate network? (or behind a REALLY slow internet)
corporate network?
so on chrome, go to the planner and hit ctrl + alt + J, should open up a console, do you see anything red there?
you mean ctrl + alt +I ?
whatever opens up the devtools console
you can open it from the settings menu as well
sigh
https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.2.0/jquery.min.js => can you open this?
in a new tab or something
nope
that's your problem
I assume you are using something that blocks it on your PC
hmm maybe but i have no idea :\
yeah, I can't tell you like that why you are blocking the google site
ill have to do a search ig to find out how
yeah it is
and if you say you can't get to the page
it says the "Connection isn't secure" right?
or similiar
it says the connection isnt private
Windows 10
so the problem is that your system / browers don't trust the certificate issued to the ajax.googleapis.com site
so either you have somehow messed up the root certificates in your system
or you are using somekind of apps that somehow invalidate these
could be hm, i have had problems with my computer, its a pain
ill download a program, ive been watching some videos
try to reload the planner page now @shut junco https://stardew.info/planner/
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
it seems to be working now'
yeah, I switched the planner to use local jQuery instead of the google CDN one
you are welcome
ahh right thanks
ill do so
https://upload.farm/plan/1GiRSx What should I put at the top of it all?
So this is my farm, first farm currently upgrading coops and barns then the insides of the sheds are last. Just got the Greenhouse unlocked so I can start getting ancient crops in there. Going to put a pin in most of the finished stuff for now though and raise my friendship with everyone before the end of my 2nd year. Been replicating diamonds all year and making mayonnaise.
@sharp lotus Truffles from pigs is the best profit you can make with animals
@strange plover Looks great! If you still have that plan, you should render it (top right, purple button) so it looks just like in game :)
@gloomy pine What sort of help do you need? k_sum was talking to tcake, not you.
@native saddle Well you could add the other obelisk. If you're playing with other people, keep in may mind they might want stables as well. Other than that, I'd either add more crops, sheds for storage, a slime hutch, or more fruit trees.
@sharp lotus i like to put my animals in separate pens like this also there are is a silo mod (big silo i think) that will make your life much easier. this is my mixed animals and wine farm (most of my ancient fruit is in the greenhouse)
omg I feel like such an idiot.
I was just wondering like what are some good tips for the planner and now adding on to the question what would be the best order to do the planner in ex:1 Pathways 2Coops etc
Well I would recommend starting by looking at some plans from other people, and then figure out what you want on the farm. I would start with how much area you want to give to crops, animals, stuff like that. You can start with paths or just section of areas and path around them.
https://www.reddit.com/r/FarmsofStardewValley/comments/9s6vsl/hilltop_farm_my_future_end_game_farm/
:)
My first post on reddit >:)
Feels good lmao
Nice, not many crop spaces though
why so many furnaces god damn
actually.... that would be a perfect spot to hide a shed, and toss everything into it.
oh that's a nice farm
@obtuse ridge Thanks! I play on the Switch, so I don't think I can mod it, but if I ever get it on Steam i will remember that big silo mod!
(@sharp lotus You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
@sharp lotus You can mod on the switch, but only if you're willing to mod the console itself
Ah. I dont think im willing to at the moment. I just got my Switch and I am not that tech savvy. Maybe if i can find a cheap used one id hive it a go.
Same tcake I mean I've modded my 3ds but its too soon for me for my switch
Welcome tcake
Thank you Regular RemixedMelody :)
hmm
I've been thinking of an animal emphasized animal
that last one looks really good
@strange plover how do you get hay?
You need a silo, then scythe grass.
At later points when money isn't an issue, buying it works too
@sudden cove I was looking at that map, I can't exactly see how they are gathering hay
I would assume they just cut all the grass you can see at the end of autumn and then just buy more during the winter as needed. That farm has a lot of grass even though it's not in one section.
true but most of the grass is in animal farms
You generally don't need to worry about hay until fall. You could also do something like have segmented fencing for the animals so they can only get to part of the grass at any one time.
Ah, I see.
Why fall?
Plus, you're not going to have a fully planned out farm right away, so for the first years there will be room on the farm to plant larger areas of grass. Then when you have more money, you can switch to buying hay and place more stuff there
Well if you have areas for the animals with grass, they'll eat that first as long as it's not raining. You go through hay way faster in the winter when they're eating hay daily. At least on my farm, I go through more hay in the winter than the other three seasons combined
I hope that makes sense :P
I see.
If you're working on a plan, please feel free to share it here!
looking for suggestions for the purple areas. I was thinking some kind of statue garden up by the side of the greenhouse
i have a tractor shed i can put in that i forgot about maybe in the area under the small lake
Silos somewhere?
i only need 1 silo its up by the beehives 😃
Only 1 for all those animals?
i use the big silo mod it holds 280,000 pieces of hay
Ah
That's a lot of hay
The game this map came from is heavily modded, but I think it looks nice.
Is also still a WIP.
@obtuse ridge Do you need a stable?
i can put one in but i dont use it i have the extended mine cart mod and scepter of return
Oh, well you don't need add one if you're not going to use it
You could add regular trees
planted some nut trees to balance it out and fill up unused space.. just need to upgrade my buildings now and get my animals 😃
hi guys, any tips on how to make my farm look nice? like what's the best kind of path to use, how to fill the empty space, stuff like that? i realize it's not great rn, trust me 😛
Actually looks fine.
Adding more of whatever you want for profit (barns, sheds, crops) would work. Maybe more beehives. Gravel path looks nice.
thanks, i was think of extending that crop area in the middle around the junimo hut, but i still feel like there's a lot of empty space
i just always see these very Aesthetic™ stardew farm pics on tumblr and i'm like how. how did you do that. was it mods. it was probably mods.
even without mods i know u can do it, but i have no idea how to make it look "pretty" :P
Honestly a bit part of nice looking farms is just filling space
plant grass and trees where there isn't stuff and you're 80% of the way there
hmm that's a good idea, thnx
And personally I would connect more stuff with paths on your farm. The path type looks good, just connect the bottom entrance of the farm and the slime hutch to the other paths on the farm
do u think paths look better or do u think filling up any empty dirt with, for example, stone floor looks better? 'cause i've seen that on some people's farms and i can't decide
Personally I dislike when people "pave" their whole farm. But that's up to you
yeah. just those empty squares in between the paths... maybe filled with grass they'd look good?
You can also make the one wide paths wider, grass works, so does fencing
ohh like fencing on each side of the path?
that's a cool idea, i will try that for sure
probably after i get the gold clock tho lol
thanks for the tips!
No problem!
Is this a good idea for my indoor crops?
I have my seed makes here too reuse them immediately after collection
Got really lucky with the sweet berries ones and have some 15 of them
oo niece
*nice
you should def prioritize getting some sprinklers to the rest of the crops
esp the sweet gem berries
Yee, I have lots of them outside but they’re still on plants currently, it’s a bit hellish right now.
Here’s all my farm mostly. It’s hellish currently because crops aren’t being replaced because I’m lazy and old ones aren’t destroyed yet like the one at the front of my house
whoa it's so pretty
Thanks! I’m trying to work on it a lot more though.
The front of my house is messy and it’s all kinda separate so it takes a while to get everything done before I can do other things.
A.k.a it takes until 11am before I’m done watering and whatnot
Nani? How?
and from the looks of it, you can toss your seed makers opposite the first set of sprinklers on the wood border
Can fruit trees grow on the edge without mods?
Also on switch ideal
I got this new version of the dream house last night. (this one is supposed to have the spouse room removed. I couldn't get that part working with her no spouse room mod). I thought you guys might like to see the changes.
I'm so eager for that mod!
that might as well be a farm map
Any idea when it will be out @obtuse ridge ?
its taking a little longer because she is doing two versions of the house ( the other one has the library off the living room instead of the kitchen) she wants to make sure that when people upgrade the house stuff doesn't disappear into the void. I think she's close though i only found one bug in last nights version
btw try to connect the bedroom with the chest room
also im sure the swimming pool thing could work
Cool. 😃 And you did say there would be a version that kept the spouse room right?
yeah im just testing this no spouse room version
Can't wait
changed the well and junimo hut all by myself
here is my house lol
oh wow that house looks really cool
i placed lamp posts
https://stardew.info/planner/ this can help
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
well...
OCD is where you pretty want everything to be perfect
if its not, you get triggered
so like u want everything to be symmetrical and stuff
Symmetry isn't always best option
well it can help you by seeing what not to do
yes
Yeah, looking at other farms helps a lot
I want to build something that's emphasizing animals
Because crops are really boring
well the one right above the farmhouse screenshot is mostly animal focused
The modded one?
I want a very aesthetically pleasing farm but still effective and money making
a bit outdated but i would say it is very efficient and aesthetically pleasing
I just want an aesthetically pleasing farm
I don't care if it's efficient or not
I want emphasis on animals
i updated it
I really wanted an emphasis on animals but then they don't really make a lot of money
just get pigs
pigs are really good
and cows that produce iridium quality large milk
sell it as iridium quality large milk
I always trn it into cheese guess I should stop
i have Ui info suite to tell what things cost
Okay here's the thing
probably aim for the shepherd profession for level 10 farming
Crops are bad because only thing they do is sit around
You can't name crops, you can't headpat crops
You just water them and play alpng
lol
pff i care about the 💰 its worth
I feel connected to the chicken I buy
thats kinda cute tbh lol
technically i have turned Stardew Valley into my industry
Im thinking of doing pigs and dinosaurs
Okay this is a stretch but
ive filled the entire mountain lake with crab pots
Think of Darkest Dungeon
also with the beach
People have the choice to rename heroes but they don't because it gives emotional attachment
Which makes you feel terrible when they die
turn your quarry into a diamond farm by putting like 130+ crystallariums
damn gg
the beach is a diamond farm as well
I feel bad for your Pelican Town
also lined up all known Pelican Town Lakes with crab pots
and i have a lot of worm bins outside the adventurer's guild
Can you block off all bridges with trees?
i think
hoe the ground
actually probably no because i dont think u can hoe the darker tiles
You should be able to
so yea to conclude, i turn stardew into factory
I'd say you shouldn't but
Eh
Your game
Whatever you want
Characters aren't really feeling anything from your actions but pretending they do is what makes the games feel alive
we all play differently
