@ember marten if you have a moment, look at the planner, I've added the Claim tiers
kk π ill check back in the link
Still working on unlocking voice lol
we can voice in LIF discord as well
If I can
not sure
though I was pretty sure levels here are handed out after like 10 messages or so
yah! i unlocked it
ok family is out of the house and imlogged outof Lif so you have my attention π
or we can do this on your scheudal as well of course no rush
im in community center
Howly smokes! so i downloaded the planner into a PNG
and itipend smoothey in paint for me!
I can work with this for some pngs
kk imma make some test PNGs for ya
*happy dance
Do you work off a sprite sheet or indvidual Pngs?
individual
hehe, you are not doing these for me, but yourself :)
also you can ask around, maybe someone can help you do that
that might be easier if we get few in place though
because there are like 50 or so blueprints
haha yah but a lot of them are repeats of dementions π i have a lot already rady now up till the 3x3s
im keeping it super simple as i can.
where would you like them?
I have a few for Construction, a few for Masonry , a few forArchtetcure
kk and I will ask around π thank you
lifplannerblueprings up to 2x2
getting more coffee π
IMPORTANT QUESTION
How do I save my file from stardew planner to continue it later in the day ?
Click the save button to create a unique web address then bookmark it.
ty
This is my plan for one of my saves. What do you think?
Are they purposefully pine trees? or just randomly generated trees from the render? Otherwise, I think it looks good. I am a bit concerned about your scarecrow coverage, particularly in the upper right corner. Personally I don't love the silo location but that is just because I feel they cover up some much ground. What I might do instead is slide them to the left side of the greenhouse and move the coops over as well.
yeah i think its pretty but personally i would move the silos just cause there's no point for them to be that close to your house
Is this loss
Lmao I played yall
so the dude has a creepy smile
Really?
yes
fuck im so slow i just realized what u did @muted lake
kill me pls
i blame it on being sick all day
Honestly that took way more work than it should have to make
lmaoooo
Your trees only need one space between them
its a meme odin its not an actual planned layout
I S T H I S L O S S
goddamit
I'm not familiar I guess :P
making a new multiplayer farm
i wanna move the windmill but idk where im not a huge fan of things overlapping
also i need another stable
_<
pupu
and i dont like where the one is in front of the barn
mehhhhh
That's a lot of coops and barns
Maybe those furnaces and crystal things can go in an existing house or shed, then you can move some of the trees you have to there and make room for a stable
Also, just for looks maybe put the slime hutch between the two sheds
slime hutch is ok
you can put windmill near the shed at the down bottom left
or near the greenhouse
is it too many coops/barns?
i thought the top ones i could put the animals that produce daily and the others down lower
im guna move the sheds on either side of the slime hutch i like that idea! ty
but yea so this is my idea?
i think i could take out the 2nd goat barn on the bottom and put another shed there and switch that barn for another shed and in it put cheese and mayo then the shed next to the slime hutch put a bunch of crystalariums and furnaces?
i feel kind of defeated with this layout
u_u
It's your farm, you only have too much of something if you decide so. But if you're short on space, I would consider consolidating. Maybe chickens and blue chickens can go in one coop? Maybe you don't need two barns for cows and two for goats? It's your farm, but removing the three on the right side of the farm would give you a lot more room to work with. You could move the houses and stables to that section, or move your crops down to there.
Don't let planning a video game get you down though!
i love stardew valley
me too
(@waxen veldt You leveled up to Farmer. You're now a prettier shade of blue. Thanks for sticking around!)
i'm trying to plan out my farm using the planner but i want to use the foraging map (it's so pretty) yet nothing ... is really working :/
hnggg
and i'm already on like
the day after the egg festival
maybe i should just start over anyway π€
@humble salmon what do you mean nothing is really working?
Don't compare your first thoughts to someone else's final layout. Please feel free to share it here @humble salmon
aaah ok ;w;
It looks good @somber patio! Are you going to add more crops in the middle section?
i'm not super happy w/ it tbh, and might switch over to the hill-top version of the foraging map tbh
(once my crops are done--)
That's not bad at all! You may want to remove the fence between the coop and barn section so the path continues, but that depend how you're laying out crops. Don't forget you'll want to leave some trees somewhere to be tapped, and bee hives are always nice :)
ofc ofc! ^^ thanks heh
No problem!
You'd be terribly disappointed.
i'm so sad rn
@night eagle Im not sure yet i may just put some trees and bush and a shed
^^ slime balls make good money tho
if you get purple slimes then youre making bank off thaat
Yeah you can make money from the slime hutch
but not much
who do we contact for the multi-planner key after donating?
This might not be the best place to ask.
I heard greenhouse is most lucrative for making money.
Per space, is it cow cheese, shed kegs crops, shed jars crops, or duplicator diamond, or something else?
Thank you @night eagle
@signal mesa most people use it for crops, either ancient fruit or starfruit. You can also grow fruit trees in there year round.
Or I guess I meant what makes the most money outside of the greenhouse
And after bundles are completed
Also blueberries make less than ancient and star fruit? 80
Oh I understand now. I'll have to think about that one. I have not seen anyone do the math on that before.
@potent ore I've replied to you on Patreon
yep - thank you muchly π
(@potent ore You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
As a cash crop, blueberries win out over starfruit. Raspberries will have a slightly higher profit base over blueberries despite having a higher seed cost. But where starfruit and ancient fruit shine is in making wine.
this is preference but i prefer my greenhouse layout like this(second screenshot):
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/388333566704222210/469458492990685189/chrome_2018-07-19_06-57-29.png
-------- also i put this in the wrong channel earlier but:
there are other efficient/symmetrical ways but this gives me a reason to go more all out on getting crappy sprinklers earlier on
and its a repeatable pattern so if you have space (like a community farm) can go for miles
---------------------------- never made it past year 1 yet but need future advice for my 2 person farm (with my gf) - if anyone can help finalize some spots
im not sure if the foraging spaces are useful later on so if i should build things in them like a slime hutch - also the planner is wierd but how her house looks like is this
i like how it turned out bc not much space issues and it looks like we're neighbors instead of some lowly farmhand
First time planning hilltop farm. Any suggestions?
I mean, maybe early in the game, but at some point the space is more valuable than any of the ore/geodes that may spawn
I thought the rocks would get in the way of buildings. I guess they wouldn't spawn under buildings hopefully
Yeah as long as you clear the area you can put buildings there
lol, it happens
I think quarry is a good place to use
I feel like this is very barebones but any comments on this layout? I don't know what to do on the right side so I just stuck a bunch of furnaces and crystalthings lol. >Brought scarecrows closer so they cover everything
Fruit trees!
oh those will go in the greenhouse
forgot to restore it but oh well lol
Then again they would make the area outside prettier.
ooo i like your sysstem
i would recommend grouping your lightning rods more together tho just cause its easier to collect batteries that way
True. I just started placing them downside for areas horses couldn't get to anyway. Will do.
The ones inside of the grass are to save some grass spots, but there's only two so it's not a big deal.
oo nice
also think it might be fun to display the golden clock a lil more prominently.. maybe top right corner?
Oh I thought that entire area was unaccessable. Whoops!
haha i think u just can't plant crops there
Made the hallway of zappities, tried working on the fencegates by the barns and coops a little more but I don't have enough space to move the barn back a square, and moved the clock by the bin. Wood tiles by the lower cabins will be two more bins.
oh and I fixed the top right horse path but forgot to update lol
nice! if you wanna move the barn back i would usggest moving the silos to some corner or something, maybe they can line of the left bottom side nicely or do a grouping of 4 like u have now in the bottom right
You can also use the lightning rods as fences for animals! That is what I would use instead of the hardwood.
lol instead of having any fencing just have lightning rods
lightning rods forever
π
You still need two posts and a gate for your gates. But sometimes you need a good number of rods to catch all the lightning. I feel like I routinely get 10-15 batteries per storm day and have back to back storm days in summer.
sorry, newb question but i cant find a way to change the house level, greenhouse, etc.
can someone please help me
Under "options" you can toggle the greenhouse
I'm not sure if there's a way to show the house as upgraded
Welcome to the server though!
thanks
i couldnt find upgraded house ones, ps ty i was wondering about that LOL
hey guys im new to the game and i was wondering how many farm buildings i can have on my farm? like can i have as many wells as i would like and so on
Yeah, you can have as many as you can fit. The only things limited are multiplayer Cabins and maybe the Stable.
ok thank youw!
Welcome to the server and the game itself!
Any good default farm layouts to work towards? I'm more interested in good looking farms than money makers, but you can show your money makers too! I'll probably need it to build a nice farm anyway haha
I dont have a picture of my current farm, but look on r/farmsofstardewvalley
Thanks!
Astrid Farm
Looks great! Are two silos really enough though?
Also maybe add some trees and grass or something around the pond. You could fit another shed on the left side
I don't think that's enough silo for 5 barn and 2 coop
Oooh, nice
Hmm, silos themselves are inefficient though.
Better to have just one, take all the hay out and place into a chest.
Wouldn't you have to refill them way more often though?
Well, assuming they have max animals, that means they should have 84 animals total, 24 in 2 deluxe coops and 60 in deluxe barns. If they have two silos, they have 480 maximum hay space. That means they only have to refill their silo once every 5 days, because after 5 days they'll be at (84x5), ~420 hay. Which isn't that much of a chore, I'd wager. Costs a bit to buy the hay but if your farm looks like that, money probably isn't an issue.
It seems like it would be best to add a third silo. That way in Winter the player can choose one day a week to refill the autofeeders.

why i dont share image ?
(@gloomy pine You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
any idea "?" this place guys ?
Looks great, Sel ππ½
I love it :0 very organized
i love the aesthetic a lot
as far as what to put there idk maybe more trees or bees
maybe you could put fruit trees outside although probably not idea
ideal
oh and you need lightning rods somewhere
you could put those right of your house or by the pond or something
lol SPOILER you could make a "tribute to linus" just in case someday he changes his mind and lives on the farm with you END SPOILER
thank you so much for your idea π€
okay guys anyone idea for "?" this place ?
What about a hay field?
Fruit trees?
You could plant more crops there
may i have some opinions on a farm path? i can't decide which floor/path looks better with my farm, i'm stuck between stone and wood. i'll see the pics i took if i may
wood
stone
ye i know, i just wanted to see what other people thought
Also is you can also put the paths under the house staircases
So it's a little smoother
im enjoying the wood but at the same time its a bit...same colory? idk
its a struggle
yeah, but at the same time, the stone just kinda sticks out like a sore thumb
i'm leaning towards the wood a bit more, i like how warm it makes the farm look ^^
Does anyone happen to know if @warm linden has expressed any interest in making his planner compatible with the new Community Farm map/mod? It's huge but without a planner i'm totally lost haha.... Didn't realize how much I relied on his slick planner until I didn't have it to fall back on!
I don't think he's mentioned it, but you'll probably get a response here
π Thanks!
(@rare silo You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
are you Matt by any chance?
It was featured in PC Gamer, so people are going a little crazy hehe
Yeah I am, sorry for the e-mail = /
oh no, it's very fine
that's how it is supposed to be
though the mod doesn't have a clean image of the farm space availabe in the nexus
It has something like 24000 tiles but yeah, I noticed the same issue. I had to download it just to see how huge it actually was. The picture isn't great
I mean I can't add this image to the planner:
https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/1303/images/2493/2493-1531288251-933326634.png
If someone would provide me with the clean image of the farm, I'd gladly add it to the planner
best chance is probably ask the mod author I assume
Sounds like a wonderful idea, thank you! I'll see if I can get in touch with him, I bet he'd love to be featured on your planner. Sorry for the confusion on my part about what you needed to import the map.
Yeah, I'd need an image like this: https://stardew.info/planner/img/layouts/full_background.jpg
No worries, technically it's possible to get the image using some map unpackers too, but with big maps it is pretty big hassle and I don't have time to do that now
@solar kayak I like the wood path better
ye that's what i'm putting down
@velvet trout Lemme drop this here in case SgtPickles has any interest in his map being included in your planner π
Does it assume the farmhouse, greenhouse, etc, are all in the default places?
hi everyone
Prolly
I can easily produce another picture if needed.
The one that's posted publically was cut down in quality due to size. Also, the map is gonna be tweaked a bit shortly (Some spots are bad / some tiles need a lil more propagation)
and there's the author
/plops in my new design w/ the hill-top farm layout
far from done but
i'm actually a little happier w/ it
π€
there
miiight end up moving the well but we'll see
thats a pretty forest/hill top mod layout
I thought so, too! ^^
huh, where's the cave LOL
the grass looks like PokΓ©mon grass
right?
It looks like thereβs a little wooden door to it
π what are you hiding behind that door, squish
.... π
π
@harsh heath just one short commentary i would put doors on all sides of the fence where the pet area is just to make cutting through places easier
...can pets open gates?
@sudden cove No. If you talk about planner, the farmhouse, greenhouse etc can be whereever for a layout
@velvet trout If you could send me the original size image (has to divide equally to 16x16 tiles each way) after the tweaks, I'd gladly add it to the planner. Though please note that I'm going for a vacation this Sunday, so before that would be awesome, because then it'll be weeks before I can do it.
@clear storm ping the other taeko
Oh shit my b
this is the least active channel
I mean, people are always going to have more questions or general stuff to chat about that farm plans
While it might be the least active channel, this is the only one I am really interested in.
I'll be able to get it to you tomorrow or Wednesday @warm linden .
So excited π
WOOT I THINK I'M DONE
also i know what you're gonna say that's a lot of grass but i have expanded greenhouse/shed/house mods that will open up space for things like crops and trees and production so we all good on that front o7
and if grass grows elsewhere ... meh i have paths almost everywhere i would need to go, and i can plop more in if grass becomes an issue
oh wowww
had to update already bc i forgot there were some like bushes i can't get rid of in the way orz
Don't forget you'll need a few trees unless you tap some off the farm. And you may end up wanting more than a single shed. It look good though, and I like the map mod
i've got expansions for the greenhouse and shed as mods so hopefully they a) work and b) are enough room! but thanks for the tips anyway! ^^
right!! thanks! ^^
Happy to help!
jesus it looks even more like a pokemon map lol
awesome
i would recommend maybe one more silo at least, just cause if you have a full barn and coop it'll probably run out of hay before winter
just easier to not deal with those logistics
ooh, good idea, thanks squish!
OK final updated design (for now, gotta see if i can actually build the clock up there once i unlock it) and i had to nudge some stuff around bc of respawning stumps
but i'm actually p pleased with the result
@velvet trout Cool, no hurry because of me though, just hit me with a mention when you have something or drop me an email :)
Please use just english
yeah rule 6 @reef saffron
hi everyone
howdy Selennianus!
You have to donate then contact hpeinar π
This is how my newest farm is coming along. I am in mid summer Year 2. My initial design was to only clear parts of the farm that I needed and let the rest group wild. I was thinking of fruit trees between the greenhouse and stable. Perhaps removing the crops between the small pond and and tapper grove to replace with beehives. I'd love thoughts!
this is my first shot at designing my farm with the planner....any criticism or recommendations are welcome and requested!! https://upload.farm/static/renders/1FJcfK/1FJcfK-plan.png
i guess i dont get a preview for that :/
belated thanks, squish
@gray jolt I think it looks pretty good! It looks like you have a double wide gate which I don't think is a thing in the vanilla game. The only thing to consider is that crops immediately in front of the fruit trees will impede growth/aging of the tree. I you have a real nice design!
And once you post a couple more times, your links will show previews π
good to know! and yeah i just found out the hard way that gates dont work double wide but thats okay. im currently in winter so i dont have crops to grow and im gonna let the trees grow fully before messing around with the space around it
(@gray jolt You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
thanks for the feedback though! much appreciated :)
what d'you guys think of my farm so far? It's not complete, but is what I have so far looking messy?
I like it!
thank you!
It looks a little "busy" imo but I don't suppose that's an issue ahah
I think it looks good! It doesn't seem busy to me. You could add some edges around your crops to make them stand out more. I wonder if some of the busyness comes from other places being empty. If you wanted a little bit more room for your animals, you could flip flop the barn and coop and slide the coop behind the silo.
I'm definitely planning on bordering my crops- the empty spaces do look a little weird π
the empty spots around the lake and behind the barn I'm planning on filling with grass!
@delicate ravine There should be pretty clear instructions on the Multiplanner on how to use it. What kind of problems are you having?
@warm linden can't create a room for me and my GF
Are you a donator or contributor to the planner?
Is click + drag to erase supposed to work? It makes a big red square but nothing gets erased. I'm using Chrome
it doesn't remove buildings
I was trying to erase beehives, sprinklers and scarecrows
yeah, these are considered buildings so have to be removed one-by-one. Just click on them with the eraser brush
Ahhh. Thanks
@warm linden I donated. could i make a group room?
I've PM'ed you in Discord
@velvet trout your map must be famous, I'm getting emails daily about adding it to the planner : p
@warm linden Maybe you can do a "custom" button, players can add their own maps on planner?
I knows it's hard but... Maybe...
@night eagle hey man, you around?
Hey
I've PM'ed you
@warm linden - Apparently. Sorry I didn't get to you as of late, my cable wiring is damaged at my apartment.
I'll attempt to get it to you today, may take awhile, signal strength is substantially weak (at -12 dBmV or less)
I'm still around tomorrow as well, so tomorrow will also work if that's better for you
hey comrades jw how do you load your saved file in the farm planner after you've closed the tab? i hit the lil "save" icon in the top right corner but i'm not sure exactly what that does or how to load the farm later on
it's v. troubling
you get an unique url
save that
and you can load your farm anywhere anytime
you get the unique url from the address bar, the url changes automatically after saving
thank u my friend
Thanks I was wondering that too
any good fishing farm (the one with the islands) layout?
ooo lets see
well yeah it makes sense to use the junimo huts a lot, especially on this map
i assume there's suppsed to be some flowers on the honey farm
but i like some ideas from this
thx
Planing a riverland farm sounds like a pain. Good luck.
it is
mostly idk what to do with the tinier islands, and especially medium sized one to the west
Iβd turn those into animal grazing areas and keep the larger parts of land for farming. I assume that with mods and auto grabbers it all should be ezy pzy to manage.
yeah. idk if grass will grow fast enough there, but i can try nonetheless
oh, that layout would drive me crazy '-'
Too big for ya? π
YES
I'm making a new map. Beach Farm. Coconut trees will spawn in specific points
It also will be to the RIGHT of town, old farm spot will be a crossroad
This one was an experimental map with MTN to see how far I could push the game engine.
Turns out it breaks after Y >= 156
(0 based index)
how do you make maps?
Very carefully.;
Look up Tiled. If you wanna have creative freedom, look up my mod: MTN
Without it: Farm house, green house, cave, entry/exit points, and some others cannot be moved.
I can make more than farms now. MTN allows any map to be replaced, or extend and add custom maps π
an odd question, but how do I save the plan as an image
hm
when I click it it doesn't do anything else
it should automatically download to your hard drive
so I'm kinda happy with the top portion for the most part (kale=general crops), I'm just trying to figure out what to do for the rest of my land
I'm more focusing on aesthetic than cash tho
not sure I'll be doing horse or slime
have 12 lightning rods line a "hallway"
(maaaybe slimes at one point, but no horse)
maybe make right of shipping box ur smelting area then
true
I'm dedicating one shed to crystals and one to artisan stuff
but that's also not a bad idea
will someone help me organize my farm? Iβm really bad at organizing haha
@ me if you cannnn
This is what I'm thinking right now but idk, any comments?
I assume I'll have more beehives in the future but I only planned for what I have right now
4
Can you upload your farm to the planner?
uh sure itβs really bad though aha bc im in the process of just moving things around
Don't freak out comparing your farms to others'. Everyone is at a different stage of the game and has different priorities.
Some people care more about looks, others about maximizing crop space or moving quickly between areas, etc
Mhm I understand that
So let's take a look
oh sorry i have to do something give me a second please
Oh sure
I guess I'd start by clearing out all the debris and making your crop areas bigger
yeah thatβs what i wanna do I just donβt know where I want everything
Generally I guess you want important things close to your house, you want it to be easy to move around and you want to plan your crops based on scarecrow and sprinkler ranges
And junimo huts if you have those
mhm i donβt yet
Have you looked at some of the uploaded farms on /r/FarmsofStardewValley?
yeah Iβve looked at some but not a lot I have another website I like to use too
@kind abyss is your junimo hut isolated by itself? Or do you have multiples back to back?
This is possibly the most symmetric option.
Personally I like to have sprinklers behind my scarecrows since I can't see behind them.
You could do a 3x3 (5x5 sprinklers) and add scarecrows around the corners of the hut
This is my endgame. Junimo huts only reach that far anyway
@rigid grail Your design wastes quite a few iridium sprinklers
What do you mean @short trout? Junimo Huts have a 17x17 reach. Both my second design and your design have 27 unusable tiles but your also leaves out 64 Junimo harvestable tiles.
It all depends on what is important to the farmer. Personally I don't like having crop space behind my scarecrows since is it difficult to see behind them. So I am happy to "waste" iridium sprinklers or sacrifice symmetry in order to do that.
You're right that the hut also covers the stone border, but for symmetry and no wasted resources (besides the 64 tiles) mine is a pretty simple one to go for
I worry about scarecrow coverage too
Would two at the side of the hut work as well as the 4 corners I've placed?
One of the great thing about SDV is that the farmer must choose which resources will be used efficiently and which will be wasted. Your design wastes scarecrow coverage. A scarecrow reaches 8 tiles up/down/left/right which is a height of 17x17. This means 2 scarecrows sufficiently covers the 17x17 Junimo Hut area.
Ah you need to think of the corners
Another way to design the sprinklers is so the farmer does not have to move from an every 3 walking path.
Scarecrows have a.. rouded radius instead of the square of the junimo hut
I found just two would neglect the far corners of the crop
Yes, the scarecrows only cover 6 tiles diagonally. Which is why only 2 are needed. Here let me show you.
I'm on mobile and using the planner makes me want to pull my hair out which is why I'm not testing these lol
Someone really needs to put it in an easy app.
Also the thing with me and scarecrows is if they're taking up crop space it bugs me.
Only 2 scarecrows are need if they are placed in alignment with the Junimo Hut door.
Yeah I couldn't do that because those are spots for crops.
So pull them in side by side with the junimo hut and the corners are neglected
I would love a Stardew Planner mobile app! How much would we need to donate to the Paetron to see that happen @warm linden?
Both of our plans are good for different types of people though
I'd pay for a pro version with no ads
Do you mean pull them inside like this? The empty stone corners are where your 4 scarecrows are.
I don't mind the ads. hpeinar has put a ton of work into the planner and they help him generate some money for his time and resources. That is why I wonder how much it would take to get a mobile app version π
Doesn't the faq say they're working on it
The FAQ says that is is planned. I don't see anything about them working on it.
Ah
Looks like the two on the side would work instead of 4 then
It wouldn't work for your setup though since the 12 squares in the corners would be neglected
Correct, that is why I would have the scarecrows pushed out by 2 spaces and not lose the tiles around the hut itself.
So for people with pretty advanced farms, how many preserve jars and kegs do you all have on your farm overall? I currently have a shed filled with 67 jars and a deluxe barn that Iβm going to fill with kegs but Iβm not sure how much more I might want
A while back I had 116 kegs in the bus tunnel to match the 116 ancient fruit in my greenhouse
I have 1 shed full of preserve jars
4 shed full of kegs
ancient fruit farm
Β―_(γ)_/Β―
My main big farm has 4-5 deluxe barns of stuff. 1 is jars, 3 are kegs, and one is crystallariums. I try to plan out how many machines I need to process my crops.
@short trout Iβll try that one
my farm has 3 deluxe barn full of kegs. I only plant a.f outside, i use my greenhouse to generate seeds
i may try to copy this one
My farm was looking a little dull so I decided to redesign the entire thing. I just wish I knew you could move buildings... Skip to 8:40 for the final tour! ...

@velvet trout your map has been added to the planner
So Community Farm can now be found on the planner and used.
π
YAY! Thank you @velvet trout and @warm linden ! A grateful community thanks you~
Err actually, @warm linden , the page won't let me select Community Farm. Should I try switching browsers (using chrome atm)?
im not rlly sure how i wanna lay out my fishing farm
its a custom map, so i cant upload it
the space between the farmhouse and greenhouse is tricky, because im so used to putting paths and floors now
fences too
hmm...i think im figuring it out
its mostly the area around the house i like to develop
Do you have a picture of your farm layout?
:0 love the colors!
Very lovely
Soud, you play on pc or console?
And btw, it looks great, any reasons for that layout?
PC.
i find it the most space-efficient layout, since i'm only starting to use sprinklers and the lowest quality ones are terrible.
it has space for 128 plants.
that's the only farming plot i currently have :P
I'll show you mine wait a minute
70% of the farm is filled with debris.
Hmmmm
There we go
Lmao mine too soud
I don't even hv sprinklers π
Invest on watering can instead
lol, i got tired of going around watering all day.
so i farmed iron and copper in the mines for the time i wasnt planting anything in fall.
next is quality sprinkers for me.
hit me up if you'd like to go for some co-op, one day @tidal gyro
Sure thing, but I can't commit to mp, that's why I haven't have any long term farm to help out
share your farm guys XDXDXD
How do you even have time to water all of those @tidal gyro?
lmao i go to bed at 10.30 am :))
not sure how this'll look
going more for aesthetic than cash
(sets of trees with the one tree is forests of that kind
)
how do you guys take pics of your whole farm??
(@silent barn You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
the teleporters should be build near the house
Only if you plan to use them that much
I plan to do stuff
need y'all thoughts
there isnt a lot of space on the left side because of the incline, but hows everything else?
nice
That map is so cute ! i love it
need grass for animals tho, unless you plan on keeping them inside
i read that if you dont feed your animals inside, they eat the grass outside
and vice versa
i have automation mod, and i want to make a sap farm. Since i dont know what to do with each island yet i thought that one might be a nice place to make it. Do you guys like it? (replace twigs with trees). Would you do it somewhere else? if so, in which one? big center island is the only one occupied, there's the animals there
why the fishing farm if i may ask?
initially i thought it looked nice. Now i want to kill myself but i dont feel like rerolling
aw
i was gonna suggest this fishing farm mod i have if you wanted to have the fishing farm still
i can check it out, sure
aight lemme get the link to it
its not islandy like the vanilla fishing farm, but i still think its good because of the space
np!
im renaming my farm, but idk to what
any name suggestions? or a place i can find one?
is this a good spot for a barn?
its a weird spot, but i didnt know where else to put it
i like it
i think it's okay
i still dunno what to name my farm
i was thinkin about going with my animal crossing town name, but idk
im thinkin bout it tho
i have been working on this farm for almost 2 hours now
and i still havent made any progress
all the maps just make me wanna pull my hair out
its frustrating that i cant find a layout i like
i just wanna play without deleting my save files a day later
this is so frustrating
eh. There's no point getting too concerned with the farm's layout in the first year or maybe two, til 3rd year you're gonna be farming haphazardly with limited supplies and each season change is an opportunity to reorganize
im just tryin to plan ahead is all
using the planner
i dont want to start a new game until i know what farm im using, vanilla or mod
i think i got a lil carried away
thats a lot of crops to water
I need to fix the trellis area, but yeah I guess
I mean
Question, if a multiple harvest crop is fully grown, do you still have to water it?
Aight, now for flowers, do you have to keep watering them even tho you donβt rlly intend on plucking them? (For honey purposes)
if they're harvestable, you can't/dont' have to water
Oh heck I gotta add scarecrows to the trellis portion oops
Aaahhhh okie
Good to know
Gonna have my hands full
Also just for ref??? This isnβt actuall the map Iβm using, itβs just the only one that was closest to the map Iβm planning on using
Same size and stuff, just the upper area is a wee bit different
just to make sure everyone's on the same page, you do have to keep watering plants like corn that repeatedly produce. you just don't need to re-seed to start the next harvest.
ik
Yeah, itβs not the actual farm Iβm using tho
Itβs the only one that closely resembled it
how do y'all like this? not to sure what to do where i placed the "?"
maybe one of them would be another grass patch for the animals
(ofc no massive decorations shown here either)
lemme have a look
(using automation, so stuff like the beehives work)
sap farms, honey etc
sap farm is the tiny island in the midle, to the west
or is that bottom?
the bottom is for wood
oh i see
if i ever need it
i like how it looks!
more animals
hmm...
dunno, it looks nice but i was never a fan of vanilla fish farm
ye me neither, but you can make it work right?
next time i'm so rolling with a modded map
the one i linked or something else?
well not now
im gonna try that one soon lol
right right
later maybe

It's right in the channel description :)
Any Wilderness Farm's layout to suggest me?
How do you make it so that it only shows the till-able spaces
Hmmmmmmmmm
Like those green patches
any tips for a farm?
not much tips here but don't get the fishing farm map even if you like fishing
(@sharp crown You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
it's not worth it
yeah
Iβm in winter in my first year and I donβt even have level 1 fishing
the fishing mechanic sucks
mods can make it significantly easier
the fishing mechanic, while not implemented well, can be made easier and more worthwhile with mods
fishing is always the thing i level up first because i find it to be a great source of money when you're first starting out
persoanlly th eonly reason if i fish is the communit center
i personally don't find the mechanics that bad
there's a learning curve but it can be actually fun if your level's high
In the beginning itβs bad
me three, not well implemented and a little clumsy, however i enjoy it

WE KNOW OF YOUR AFFAIR @livid basin !!!
does anyone have any farm name suggestions?
Silverwood is my go-to
my current name is Dollwood, its kinda a play on Hollywood, just without the y
Fair enough
my cats name is dolly, you see, so i thought it was just funny
its also my town name on animal crossing, but i only had 8 spaces, so i had to shorten it
I see
i just feel like i need a better name tho
somethin that fits me
somethin natural tho
Β―_(γ)_/Β―
jeff
m'name is jeff
i think i got a name??? golden barrel ranch (the ranch part is from a mod)
Animal Farm
is there a good way to set up a honey area with flowers that doesnt have too big of a risk of accidentally pulling the flowers?
this is my current setup but i keep accidentally pulling the flowers when i go to harvest the honey
Are you on console?
Pc
@gray jolt can you share what the rest of the area looks like? It might be helpful to know your space constraints.
That seems pretty good
i think my best bet for avoiding picking flowers is to just be more careful
Yeah
hm
does your farmer have a defining thing?
wait, what kind of farm is it?
Modded standard
So lots of dirt and space
Itβs like the vanilla standard, just more space
hm, could name it based around that desert theme
(my hill farm is skyview for that reason)
Yeah, right now Iβm thinking of Mojave, Sonoran, and Mirage
how bout dashte
it means plains, and is a prefix for several iranian deserts
(a slightly silly idea, but) there's carcross, a yukon desert that's known as the smallest desert at a square mile, also a native hunting area
@solar kayak i really like mirage personally
Yeah...Iβm just so frustrated, and something happened irl that just made it a little worse...
I donβt wanna go into details but my mind has just been all over the place
Thereβs a city in my state called El Mirage
I named my farm Soupee farm. Soupee was my grandparents pet chicken
Just thought it was a cute name. Soupee
"where are you"
"I'm at soupee"
Heheh
i got a name
ironically, its not a name i ever thought of using
and it isnt related to what i wanted it to be
but ye i got a name now, im happy
ah, nice!
Is the special charm only in 1.3?
Everyone that plays on console is still on 1.2
Ah, yes.
So i just made my first stardew planner map
And idk if its good or not
here it is
Not bad!
Maybe spread things out a bit more?
@gray jolt what about something like this?
https://stardew.info/planner/serious-ladybug-53/
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
it allows for a similar design to what you have but protects the flowers. The hives on crystal floors may not reach the flowers though.
And I was just double checking that design and the right side is wrong as you can't walk on water... my bad lol
That coild work, I do have some wiggle room to scoot it over
Ill try it out, thanks! @rigid grail
No problem! You could technically get rid of two columns down the center. But it is just an idea. It is not as pretty looking as yours!
Any suggestion?
You could do more fruit trees where the stumps are at on the left!
I like cats
(@split abyss You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
@split abyss what kind of furniture?
Wait, we can place furniture outside of the house in vanilla?
No, you can't
Although there are some decoration items that can be placed both inside and outside the house, but nothing from the catalogs
I didn't think so Overlord. But just wanted to make sure I didn't miss some update with squeezed into the official 1.3 release.
hello quick question, planner can only render your current farm right? you need to manually do whatever you changed in the plan?
Are you asking if the planner can edit your save file? It can't
Is there a way you could save and reload it into the game? (With or without mods)
I don't mind losing all my items and progress.
Not that I know of, but there are options for save editors, I would ask in #making-mods-general
Dang OK.
How do you guys get this planning farm layout thing
Get it?
Plan your Stardew Valley farm! ...on a coffee break!
Thanjs
Oke I'll do it online then
theres a mod out there that will do the planner layout to your save file tbh
I just dont have a link on hand
@signal mesa
Thoughts? Ik its kind of messy as well as me using two different types of fences just nowπ
I like the idea of having everything behind fences but with lots of gates Alexa
That bottom path leading to your barns
I couldn't add a reaction
So thanks 8)
thank youu @short trout
@kind abyss the scarecrows look a little off in terms of having exposed crops. You might consider moving the bottom row of sprinklers into the row of fence.
Otherwise, I like it!
The scarecrows work
Thereβs 2 at the double up of sprinklers
And why move the sprinklers down?
Perhaps I missed placed things, but there appears to be two central squares missing scarecrow coverage.
As far as moving the sprinklers into the fencing, it suits my tastes a little bit more. Otherwise I would likely do some funky things with the odd column sprinklers.
This layout is more appealing to my eye. It uses the fencing to hide equipment like scarecrows and sprinklers. But that is just personal preference.
move the huts up one
it's centred on the door
lemme show you my setup
all crops are covered by scarecrows and junimo hut
@rigid grail
@short trout but that is not @kind abyss's question. I was just giving a suggestion on their current layout.
Also I was the one who let you know you only need 2 scarecrows for your setup
oh right
Yea I guess cause then Iβve got 5 extra crops
So I have been playing around with having a self sustaining pasture for my animals. According to the reddit guide from 2 years ago, I need 9 grass spaces per animal and 3 starters per animal. u/intoxiqued says animals are programs to make a linear line toward the nearest grass. If that is the case, would it be better to have the first or the second image as my setup?
2nd because more grass
also toss at least one fence post on a piece of grass when you start growing it so they can't eat it and you'll always have a starter planted
or wait
hang on
π€
same grass, and first bc it seems odd to run in and out of the fence if some animals aren't quite out yet
or just to check both barns
How familiar are you with the selfsustaining pasture guide, @humble salmon?
not very, tbh, i've never heard of it before
I think your farm looks great Frozen!
mission impossible
omg
Wtf just happened?
What?
LOL WHAT
So Iβm new to planning farms. I was just kind of throwing things down where I had space. Where should I start?
What kind of farm do you have/want to plan
Just the basic one I guess?
So some people start by putting down paths to block out areas and kinda section them off
Kinda figure out what they'd want to focus their farm for
I would first decide on whether you want to go for a farm based on aesthetics, profit, or a mix of both. That'll generally give you some direction on how the layout will be. For example; if you don't care much about profit you wouldn't have to section off large plots for farm lands since you won't have to use iridium sprinkles to maximize profit. You could also forgo building sheds.
best cask layout?
So for a mix of both?
(@mental wadi You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
@worn shell Here are some of the layout I have done in the cellar (and elsewhere). I prefer the second one because it feels faster while having 1 less cask. I also feel it is a better setup if you want to move to having the entire cellar full of casks. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/13d43f0U64h2HXY4mSKZdCjo11YYsPV3JxUOPndkirGY/edit#gid=2097739847
awwww thank you!
that spreadsheet has been a labor of love for me. the other trick I have for the cellar is to use 8 kegs as "timers" have harvest on the same day of the week to keep track of how the wine aging is going.
My current plan/farm save with a modded river farm layout π
Don't forget silos :)
I have one so far, there's plenty of room in the animal area for more silos, as well as a second coop and barn β€
@wraith sun I love your layout!!~
@wraith sun it looks amazing

Does anyone here know of a reliable way to contact @warm linden ? I am attempting to get a copy of the multiplayer version of the Stardew Planner. The site says to make a donation (I have), and then to email him, or contact him via Discord (I have as well) to receive an access code. He has not responded to me with a code. Any suggestions?
@muted ingot iirc he is on vacation this week!
@rigid grail ah, that would explain it. Thank you!
@eager plover @karmic igloo Thank y'all π
Anything I should add to this?
Maybe some Junimo huts...
Yeah, junimo huts would be a huge help if you're not going to be using mods
You could add an extra row of duplicators if you made them two thick
put crystalariums near greenhouse
K
I was trying to use the online farm planner but can't find where large or deluxe buildings are. Can anyone help me find em?
I don't think they're in the farm planner because all coops/barns are the same size
The planner doesn't make the distinction since it's just a cosmetic difference and doesn't affect the size of the building
^
oh gotcha thanks
has the stardew planner been updated for 1.3 so it has cabins and stuff yet
It has.
There is also the option for 4 players to plan dynamically together, if you donate.
https://upload.farm/plan/1FODRD this is looking so good
Nice! I like pathing/lighting style. Maybe a path to grandpa's shrine?
https://upload.farm/plan/1FOFjO think im done
Your farm plan looks amazing π± Organized but has some creativity too (like the center area with the trees)
thank you so much!
Any suggestions for making Grandpa's shrine look nice? It is the one part of the farm I never know what to do with. On r/farmsofstardewvalley it looks like most just leave it plain.
Does anyone have any good forest farm layouts? @ me please
@proper robin I don't know about good but this is what mine looked like on Spring 1, Year 3. https://upload.farm/static/images/4/1FvZjZ/1FvZjZ-m.png
I put a tub of flowers or similar at the shrine
That's a good idea overlord!
Does anyone know any good tips for making planning a little less daunting? I want to make my farm not ugly but whenever I try to make any big changes I think it looks bad and stop
(@formal ember You leveled up to Villager! You can now join voice chat and all public channels. See #445729591533764620 for more info. Keep up the good work!)
@rigid grail that looks so nice!
Thanks @proper robin :3
What stage of your farm are you at @formal ember? Are you just starting out? Or are you redesigning?
The one I have in mind is on Spring 1 Year 3, Forest farm @rigid grail
Why don't you share what you have here, we'd be happy to make suggestions :)
do you guys like the little melting room i've made? owo
actually that's what i wanted to make xd
Those are the lamps that come with the mountain homes
Ah ok
Well
Dead center are 3 things
A chest
A carpet
And some sort of emo creature who needs a haircut
I was asking about the lamps :P
yeah 3 farm added slime hutch below seed makers since then
been very money focused
here are the mods used
oh forgot i installed automate i havent tried it yet
Fill it up with Gold Lewis's.
iv seen a few of those around his house i take it they respawn?
No, you have to spawn or dupe more. There's always just one.
hmm ok i could swear ive seen multiple of them around there
But if you're looking to fill space I'd say put in some sheds. Even if you don't need them you can decorate them for fun.
doesnt seem like a bad idea the existing one is producing me 60-70 diamonds every few days
Some flooring isn't a bag idea, less cleanup between seasons.
As in you want seed spread?
Yeah, flooring will do that. Here, lemme grab some examples.
If you want a sort of cold look you can put down stone floors.
You can soften it by introducing wood, and designated green spaces.
A lot of farms I like use primarily wood.
that ones pretty good
My favorites use mostly cobblestone (or cobblestone and stepping stone, which are really nice when randomly mixed, you can use crystal coblestones too)
These are all from https://www.reddit.com/r/FarmsofStardewValley/
Farms of Stardew Valley β’ r/FarmsofStardewValley
pretty sure ive been there
can anybody point me to a neat for the eye, pretty/beautiful forest farm layout?
The problem with cobblestone is it looks too unnatural around corners
who says farm should be natural
Looking great!
thanks
Jeeze, these are nice, I haven't really gone for aesethics.
I have the riverside farm, how hard would it be to get that looking nice?
probs
Anyone have nice layouts for the Wilderness (Combat) Farm layout? DM me. π
@gloomy pine this is my Year 3 Forest farm. I don't love it but I think it is nice. https://upload.farm/static/images/4/1FvZjZ/1FvZjZ-m.png
you say cobblestone looks too unnatural, I say CURVYYYYY~~ ^^
interior corners are probably the offender you're referring to tho lol
in which case I agree
@subtle ridge the challenge with the Riverland is the relative small size of the islands. A lot of the layouts I have seen split the islands into different themes. So you might have animals on one and beehives on another and still fruit orchards elsewhere.
@formal ember you asked last night about tips for making planning less daunting. I think it is tough. I usually end up playing around for far too long on the planner site. It might help to think of things you'd like to change then do them one at a time. I would love to give you thought if you post your farm!
