well got a crash report I guess. wa sin the mines with a gold pickaxe, level 57, mining one of the big boulders. friend had an iron pickaxe doing the same and we hit it at the same time - game client crashed.

@turbid inlet That's normal if SMAPI can't ever start to begin with, but we can't see the entire error. Could you get a screenshot of the top part of it, too? It looks like possibly an assembly error or something but it's hard to tell from what we can see. BadImageFormat should have had a friendlier error at top as of SMAPI 3.0, though SDVpufferthink

If that were the case, and it were complaining about the Stardew Valley game itself and not something that looked XNA/.NET related - that's often caused by pirated copies of the game having changed something in the executable itself (and for what purposes? the game itself is DRM free SDVpuffersweats ) that makes SMAPI unable to work with it, in which case you would need a copy that has not been tampered with in this way. (A purchased one is best guarantee!) There have also been cases where malware of some kind altered the exe of legit copies.

Just mentioning in case either of those is a possibility as I need to run out - please do include the whole error if that doesn't apply to you!

Hi everyone. I'm worried I'm going gently mad- it's winter of year 1 on the switch, and I'm trying to upgrade to iridium tools. I've got $145,000, but when I try and pay to do the upgrade, it won't take, and my cash total shakes as though I didn't have enough money. Am I just reading numbers wrong, or is this a bug people have heard of?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I've recently bought the game and instantly fell in love with it. I've played many many hours with a wireless controller meaning I've had to charge it on the regular. After my last charge the controller stop working for stardew, still works for steam big picture and other games. Tried to look up on reddit and other places what to do but I can currently not use my controller, anyone who has encountered this or knows what's happing?

Hey guys, just discovered that on the villager hearts tab, if I select a villager I don't get the panel showing their likes and whatnot. I'm on Android and it works for my wife using the same device and version. We're using Samsung note 9.

Are you sure the versions are the same? That's a 1.4 feature, the 1.4 update is currently rolling out slowly to everyone on Android. It's very possible your wife has it and you don't yet. You should see the update in the next few days

@balmy ridge I had encountered that bug too. It happened when I locked my phone while running Stardew Valley in the foreground with Menu open. If I locked my phone while running the game in background, it didn't effect the game at all.

I once stucked behind the wall inside the house when this bug happen. Restarting game didn't help, only revert back to previous save fixed the game.

My partner in multiplayer has a cabin, and the dresser that came with their house can't be moved/interacted with/removed at all. We made this file before the 1.4 update that made dressers functional

The dressers that hold clothes are the ones you buy - the ones in cabins are to store the inventory of the farmhands when they are not logged in.

@unkempt perch we changed how the UIs get positioned on the screen to respect the switch OS's screen size setting instead of applying the offset ourselves. if you go into your switch's settings, there should be a place where you can adjust the size of the screen and get it looking right

@unkempt perch ive found that you need to change it on the TV. Mine has to have the picture set to “full”. Different TVs call it different things. The clipping has to do with the update. Spent a while figuring that out myself a bit ago haha

Some of the ponds were supposed to have special quests and production rules, but the error caused them to use the same generic definitions as other fish. An example is catfish which was supposed to have a 100% chance of roe and have a first quest that asked for one of (2 Amethyst, 3 Copper Bar, 3 Red Mushroom, 2 Topaz) but the error made it use the generic river pond which had only a 90% chance of roe and the first quest was for one of (3 Acorn, 10 Bug Meat, 3 Maple Seed, 3 Pine Cone)

Stardew Valley runs a bit differently than other online games, it's a Peer to Peer connection, not server hosted. Unfortunately some people have issues with their connections for reasons we can't determine, but it's usually something in their internet connection itself

  1. Mes amies ne peuvent rejoindre notre serveur et je n'ai pu la possibilité de leur envoyé le code comme si l'option avait disparu, et Je ne peux pas rejoindre d'autre aprtie non plus.
  2. Quand j'ouvre le jeu si je clic sur une autre fenetres, Discorde, Steam, etc le jeu se ferme
  3. un lizeret vert aparait quand je lance le jeu sur le contour du jeu ... mais ca encore c'est le derniere de mes soucis

Afterburner is a "optimization" program, that makes the graphics better in some games. They probably don't have anything like it if they aren't familiar with the name. And yeah, Comodo could be an issue

they tried to reinstall smapi without any change and they asked if it would be a good idea to remove any stardew related file to ensure it will install all the files

Yeah, I was kind of stumped. @copper hollow, Adanac is still getting errors with the game and can't use invite codes suddenly. Worked fine prior to Friday's update. Lumi, are they able to get the full log file for us, or is it still not generating?

yeah, i think we figured it out! it looks like it can happen when the player donates their first ancient seed, grabs the seed itself, but leaves behind the recipe. we made a code fix, but we'll probably wait until there are more fixes and stuff before we push a new build

I'm aware there are crash issues. However, we had a very recent update and the consoles are well known to have cache issues - so clearing it is a basic troubleshooting step, so we can see if the update fixed any of the issues

ah okay. i've already done that several times, so have friends. we all see the issue in multiple locations after clearing. it's a random lag lasting anywhere from 3 to 20 seconds, about every minute or two. only when playing online co-op.

Yep, that's it. If you are only seeing lag in co-op, it's very likely related to internet connection issues. SDV doesn't run on servers like other games, it's all peer to peer. You can report it at the link below though

It has, but CA is on record stating he's not sure what the issue is, as 1.4 actually optimized co-op some. It could be something the porting teams have changed, so the more data, the better

Invite codes use Steam/GoG multiplayer stuff. If you aren't connected to Steam (or Galaxy) you won't have the option to enter or make them. So restarting Steam and/or your computer is actually a good troubleshooting step, hehe.
