Do I need 248 seeds to plant the entire area of a scarecrow (with the scarecrow in the centre) or 247? Because the wiki says 248 tiles but idk whether that counts the scarecrow in the middle?

got another question for yall. I've been playing multiplayer switch on 1.4 with a save from 1.3. I get major lag and it takes an in game hour for loading screens to go away. I also stutter and freeze on the farm. the loading screens usually cause me to disconnect frequently from the host. we're in year 5 currently with basically end game stuff

we have a fair amount of kegs, casks, and garden pots. 4 woodchippers, 23 furnaces, like 4 charcoal kilns, 4 each of the mayo and milk machines, 5 oil makers, and 2 looms

all of the kegs and garden pots are in sheds though

and the greenhouse is full of trees and ancient fruit

I've been having this weird walking glitch in my game. It glitches up and makes me slow walk when going left. I've cleaned my controller many times and tested the buttons but they are all fine. I recently played GoW so idk whats happening. Is this happening to others too?

i want to play my save file from windows 10 to my ipad mini, and i did it with itunes, copy and pasted the file from the saves folder in pc, and dragged the file into the stardew valley documents, and synced. but nothing happened, i opened my stardew valley in my ipad mini, the save file didnt show up. is this because of the outdated version? This is probably a lost cause but I'll ask anyway. I had a multiplayer save file with friends on my 2nd SSD but then my computer had some terrible errors so I had to do a factory reset. This erased everything on my first SSD, where windows was installed.

I installed steam and saw that stardew was still installed since it was on my 2nd SSD, but my save file is still gone somehow. Now a buddy of mine is sad because the file is gone. I had steam cloud off. Turning it on brings up saves I had a long long time ago but not the one that we had been recently playing on

Hmm, I realized that I had two appdatas: one on C: and one on F: The game was loading the ones in C, so I dragged the F ones into the C folder and my file is magically back!

Hmm. It might be Steam Cloud Sync misbehaving; unfortunately without SMAPI I don't think there's any way to recover them if you don't have a backup. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Nope. If it deleted the files, it's because they were deleted in Steam Cloud. It would restore them on the next game launch otherwise.

You could try checking the trash bin just in case; otherwise apparently there are third-party tools to undelete files, but I don't know how well they work.

so I think I found a bug, at least on the switch version, I put down brick flooring on my farm, closed the game and came back to it the next day it was converted to wood flooring, I had some brick leftover and put it down, closed the game and came back the next day and that brick was converted to wood ๐Ÿค”

Is there any way to make PS4 controllers connected through Bluetooth compatible with Stardew? I followed the instructions in this article: https://github.com/Pathoschild/SMAPI/issues/598 where SMAPI breaks controller support - it works when the controller is connected via a USB cable but my sister has the newer laptop where there are no USB ports. The controller connects without any problems to Steam and shows up in the 'detected controllers' through Bluetooth, it just doesn't work in the game.

This is still a problem on OSX 10.13.6. I can't use input mapper to bypass Steam. Steam suggestions say no changes needed to run. Essentially the controller works fine when run without SMAP...

Does the opening game screen show the current version of your game with patches? I have the GOG version of the game and there's a list of files and patches and I downloaded the latest one and assumed I was good. But just looking at my opening screen my version is showing 1.4 but I know at least 2 patches came out after that and I should be on version 1.43 or something like that. Should that show up on my opening screen? I reported a bug and now that I see my game version I'm wondering if I didn't patch my game properly.

Hmm. Can you tell verifying your game files? I'm not sure of the exact process on gog, but one of our Steam recs is to delete your content folder to force the verification (and thus the update)

on floors 10-19 the junk rock take 5 hits to break instead of 1 hit. as soon as I get down to level 20 they only take 1 hit again so it's just those floors--really weird

Yes, currently PC is on v1.4 of the game and mobile is on 1.3, so any PC saves won't work on mobile until that platform gets the 1.4 update later this month :)

Hey ๐Ÿ™‚ Im new here and I'm looking for help to get my PC saves to work von my iPad. Transfering saves from PC to my iPad works fine - also the other way around. The only Problem is: I can't open saves from my PC on the iPad. I can however open saves from the iPad on my PC, play and alter them and save them. But when I try to get them to work on my iPad, the save doesnt show up anymore. I guess there is a version issue of some sort, since I haven't used any mods. Just a clean install via Steam a couple days ago and a new install on the iPad. I have seen one guy with the same question on the steam forums, but no answers.

Does anyone have some insight on what I might be doing wrong here? Or is it simply not possible atm? Thanks in advance!

Yes a save from the PC (sdv 1.4) don't works with sdv 1.3, that means the PC saves don't work on phone / iPad and so on.
But 1.3 save being converted automatically to 1.4.
Your iPad saves will become sdv 1.4 saves, when loaded at the pc, and don't work on your iPad then anymore!
(until the phone game is still not updated)

Hi! I am having a problem getting my xbox controller to work with SDV on my mac. I have the most up to date xbox360 controller driver. I have it set to pretend to be an xbox 360 controller (it is an xbox 1 controller). I start up steam in big picture mode and the controller works, but as soon as I launch Stardew, it will only recognize the mouse. I have had this problem before and fixed it though I canโ€™t for the life of me remember how I fixed it. Any assistance would be appreciated.

SDV uses P2P (Peer to peer) servers, where each player has to maintain their own connection and communicate with the other player(s). There's a distinct difference between the two, thought there are probably other reasons behind the difficulty in porting multiplayer to mobile

I need some SMAPI help! So the last time I went to play SDV, there was a notification saying that there had been updates. I got a message saying I should install the upgraded smapi. So I went and installed that, and after that, the game started up just fine - but inside my house, i noticed only some of my mods were working. @dusty delta @tribal nacelle The bundled Save Backup is very simple; it just creates one backup per day, and keeps up to 10 backups. There are two main possibilities: Save Backup wasn't working before today (e.g. due to an error, SMAPI issue, etc); or the backup files got deleted for some reason. Have you already checked the trash bin just in case?

Found the problem, it seems that all save files in %appdata%/StardewValley/Saves are all synced except for the main save file. The _old files look intact so I will be reloading those. Losing one day of progress is better than four (including one with a good skull cavern run).

It has its own set of interior maps, so you need to either remove Karmylla's mod or uninstall all the SVE packs. Hi, so I recently downloaded stardew valley on my chromebook from the google play store. The problem I'm having is that every time I close the app, when I open it back up, the entire game is buggy/glitchy and there's black patches everywhere. The only way I've found that solves this is deleting the app every time and redownloading it. Yeah, all the people I've seen with it just say force close, someone else notes to make sure to sleep and save when finished playing, too.

Select app info --> Force close

though also references to needing to clear the cache

EDIT2: Force stopping the app and clearing cache works, but when it comes back the keyboard controls have stopped working. Only a full restart seems to fix it.

Hey there, I'm currently having issues installing smapi to coexist with steam on linux. Upon the initial install, I noticed the executables didn't have the correct permissions set however this did not allow the game to launch. Please note that there is no error log (nor its parent directory in ~/.config/StardewValley/) created what so ever. I can manually start the game by running 'StardewModdingAPI.bin.x86_64' however this will not allow steam overlay or achievements to function. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Hi! I need some help... I've ran into a weird glitch with the switch where co op is not working anymore. It was working perfectly fine, then I was disconnected and cannot enter ANY co op farms now. I have tried deleting save data, uninstalling and reinstalling the software several times (It's currently redownling for the third time now) and I can't find any support online for this issue on switch.

I can see the file when I load co op, but whenever I attempt to join it sends me back to the title screen. I was able to join just fine before and played for a couple days(irl) until this disconnection and now no farms in co op, new or old, are joinable.

I'm a little frustrated because it's been a couple hours and I haven't been able to find any solutions. Can anyone help me with this issue, it would be incredibly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hey guys so im trying to transfer my stardew save to my iphone 11. I plugged my phone into my pc, found my stardew save, opened up itunes, opened file sharing, dragged my save file and preference file over, and hit "sync"

Still pretty sure that is intended since those collections are based on what you have found, not on what you have donated. Shipping collection mismatches are bugs if you have shared money, but artifacts, minerals, fish, and cooking collections are all per-player

But if you were to use the prismatic shard to turn it into a galaxy sword would it show up on the collection menu or would you have to give it to Gunther. We do share a wallet and have similar issues with shipped items.
