Im not sure if it's always been this way but when I start a new day and talk to a character they do not turn to me and face me to talk. After I exit the chat window they turn to me. If they have a second dialogue I talk to them again and then they will usually face me. Has anyone else experienced something like this (sorry if this is the wrong chat :c)

I asked this question on the forums as well, but wasn't sure if here is preferred - today I quit out of the game after the Luau so I could re-do the day, and now the game won't start. I'm getting an error that says "schedule pathing tried to find a warp point that doesn't exist". When I uploaded my log to the SMAPI parser (https://smapi.io/log/49e03ee9d9094645937c87d5dc816ee0) it found errors in the game and SMAPI. Could someone take a look and tell me if I boned my save?

@wanton dagger It's peer to peer, so that can be a problem :( If you're on PC, he can check ping in-game by typing /ping in chat. There should also be a DisconnectLogs folder in the same folder your saves are in. (Mostly it just says what you already know, but it could have something useful there.)

To open the Community Center, the player must enter Pelican Town from the Bus Stop on a day when it is not raining, from Spring 5th onward, between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm. Entering town from another direction, at another time, or on a day that is rainy, will not trigger the cutscene.

@median crypt They are also not in the game where they are supposed to be, or on the map. ex: where the henchman is supposed to be blocking the road, an invisible wall is. Gunther never shows up to the museum, ever and is nowhere to be found anywhere.

I have two game saves. One in Year 3 and one in Year 1. In my yr 3 save, I can left click to hide the item that I am holding, except furniture I believe. In my yr 1 save, I cannot hide my item by left clicking. I don't know if it pertains to the different years or anything like that

Hiya! I have emailed the support about this but I figured I’d ask here too. My game just now started crashing every time the person I play with attempt joining our co-op farm. It works all fine and dandy up until that moment, then it just freezes up and dies. I have restarted the computer and the internet, validated the game files and played a day alone to get a new “save” and none of it has worked yet.

hello, I had a strange bug just happen during the fall festival... after I talked to the mayor about judging my grange he didn't move and just said I won and gave me my reward. Then a few seconds later on I got the message that the mayor was judging the displays and to talk to him. It didn't cause any huge problems, just buggy. thanks

@molten edge I'm not familiar with the game on Android, but if you're not using any mods you could report the issue here https://community.playstarbound.com/forums/stardew-support. I skimmed around and didn't see it. Maybe there's some kind of screen adjusting you could do for a workaround?

@hexed apex That's a weird one. I can only assume it was caused by a mod, but I'm not sure which. Possibly something killed all your NPCs at one point, even The regular villagers and such would all respawn the next day, but probably not ones like Gunther.

If you zip your save folder (see https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Saves#Find_your_save_files) and upload it here, we can save edit Gunther back in, but I kinda wonder what else has gone wrong in that save along with it.

Bug: Sunfish are supposed to be a river fish. However if you choose to fish in the mountain lake when using the pole for the first time, you will catch a sunfish (this was on the 3rd, a rainy day, if that makes any difference).

You're guaranteed an easy fish the first time you use the pole, so it'll sub in a sunfish to do it if needed! It's normal :)

Hello! I Installed SVE mod and found out that Bridges near Mines and the lake in the mountains are rocky paths. It's kinda pretty visually annoying, normally they were wooden planks. Would be nice to know a way to fix it, thanks!

I just reinstalled windows for technical reasons and I reinstalled stardew valley because i have no idea why it doesn't work

But I lose all my saves because the installing program made a new folder for the game
I still have my old folder
How can I move the saved games?

Edit: I tried launching the old folder and it worked but still, no saves...

If you check https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Saves#Find_your_save_files, you should be able to find where the game wants to store your save files. If you have your old ones backed up, you can add all those folders into the Saves folder :)

this is a silly weird glitch im having. for context, im on a mac.

sometimes when im playing, my mail will randomly open up and itll do the 1/2 screen as mail, and other 1/2 as stardew? its so weird. i can close the mail app and itll go back to just the game in full screen. but then mail will randomly pop up again later. it seems to be random and not when im doing anything specific. im not sure if maybe im triggering it somehow with a key? lol

@rancid apex Oh, I thought you had backed up your saves folder and were looking for how to put them back 😦 They aren't stored in the game folder, so they won't be there. If you used SMAPI, it automatically installs a mod called SaveBackup that stores them in a folder called save-backups in the game folder, so those would be in the copy if they ever existed.

@maiden elm Including reinstalling .NET/XNA? That usually takes a bit, and is even kind of a pain on later versions of Windows. You can try installing SMAPI to get a log, in case anything jumps out there, but if you went through everything on the list, you might need to resort to something like Hamachi.

Hey, I got an issue that I can't join anyone in MP nor can I host it, I always get error messages. This was the case when the beta launched, and now it's still the case. i tried restarting Router, reinstalling game, launching admin, etc.
After googling I found that installing Visual C++ Package helped a lot of people, but that also didn't do anything. Anyone got an idea what it could be or how to fix it?

So did anyone else run into a problem with the 1.4 update eating unfinished quests from your journal? I'm not sure what the heck is going on, but I basically don't want to progress in my main save now because whatever is in my quest journal, and I'm pretty sure I had SOMETHING in there, it's just gone. Shows the ! icon on the right but when I click on it, the journal is empty and then can't be reopened. I first noticed it after starting a new game and after saving at the end of the first day, then restarting the game, the quest journal disappeared until I got the quest to meet Willy from the mailbox but the two starter quests to harvest a parsnip and talk to everyone in town were gone. Pretty sure I don't want to skip the newbie quests, since they have some important rewards that unlock through them and nowhere else, don't they?

I do have a modded game, but as the issue persists when I open the game and my character up without mods, I'm at least moderately certain I can rule that out as being the culprit. AFAIK nothing I have installed goes anywhere near the quest journal.

@fallen kernel You can uninstall SMAPI by running the installer again and choosing the "uninstall" option. Does it otherwise work? Is it your user session it is logging you out of?

@safe dirge Sounds like you're using mods and have one that replaces craftables that hasn't been updated yet. You can check this page https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Migrate_to_Stardew_Valley_1.4#Update_impact for a list of all the assets that would be broken by old XNB mods, or CP packs that uses Load to replace the file entirely. You can post your log in #making-mods-general if you're not sure which one.

If it still happens without running mods or SMAPI, you can also try a reset to verify your XNB files. See here for how to do that: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Troubleshooting#Reset_your_content_files

(Let us know if neither of those work and you've confirmed it happens in vanilla.)

I have a 1.4 bug I was wondering if anyone else has encountered, hasn't been in the game since the first multiplayer update but seems to be back. My wife, who is a farmhand on my 4 corners world, donated the ancient seed to the museum, we both got the seeds as a reward but no recipe for making future seeds. We just got to the point where we need 5 gold quality fruits but would like to be able to make the seed as well. If anyone can help let me know. I tried following the reddit post from 3 years ago but I think the program used has been updated beyond the instructions. Thank you!

Hey guys, so my friends and I are in Co-Op right now, and for some reason one of my friends can't move his coop? Any reason why?

I am the host. I didn't buy the coop, he did, and the buttons aren't showing up on his menu at all for moving or demolishing the buildings. Also, he is able to do it in our other Co-op, but not this specific one, both of which I host.

Hey guys! Have a multiplayer question, me and a friend have played on a farm quite into year 2, so we've gotten the rusty key. A new friend of ours has joined our current farm, how does the new player obtain the rusty key/or access to the sewers?

First, have them go into the museum and check for rewards (twice); since donations are shared, they should receive all the stuff they missed which may also trigger the key for them. If that doesn't work, for debug commands, they'd probably have to trigger the event (debug ebi 66); however that event is a host-only broadcast event so the host might have to try to trigger it instead (if they can.) The farmhand could also add the key directly through CJB cheats.

I reinstalled .net and xna with no changes. I then installed smapi, google the error log, and it looks like an issue with the latest amd drivers.

Narrowed it down to that as I checked my device list and it said no drivers were installed after the SV crash.

Rolled back my drivers and it works fine. Looks like Radeon Adrenalin 2020 has issues with SV.

@tepid garnet Generally mods will work fine with a pirated version; there's no anti-piracy checks or anything like that. In some cases a pirated version can modify the Stardew Valley.exe file in an incompatible way; in those cases you'll need to find a different download to use mods. Also you'll need to keep it up-to-date, since modders generally only support the latest version of the game.

We can't help you get a pirated version of the game working, but we can help in #making-mods-general if you have unrelated questions about mods.

It's failing to find one of the game's texture files. I would do a reinstall on Steam (which should also update to 1.4.3)

Ok for that, we will verify the files. So Open Steam Library -> Right click Stardew -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Files

Soooo I'm giggling a lot right now (probably need a nap XD) I woke up on a new game, my first day and the game defiantly declared "Your Apricot Tree was not able to grow last night." To which I sat there and said, uh-hum, we have parsnips, there is no fruit trees game! xD Any clue why the game it trying to tell me my "Fruit trees" could not grow last night, when I have no such fruit trees on my farm? lol

Super happy and seriously proud of all you modders out there. And of course the official game creator!All the awesome things. The mod looks pretty awesome. I am looking to add some things into my game that expands it a bit (I've had it since it was first released) So far, I've got the unofficial deep woods, because I've not yet looked deep enough into the modding community to see if there are others out there.

Hmm, I'd suggest maybe trying to reset the launch option to make sure it didn't break when getting the new smapi version
