Just to be clear, 8pm is 8 at night, which could be 20:00 depending on your language settings. Make sure you enter that map after that time. And reinstalling would make sure there's not a problem with the content files, so that's a good thing to try.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or "working as intended" - with the new 1.4 crop, ||tea,|| I'm having trouble planting it on land that is the half-dirt, half-grass spots. Grass spots and dirt spots are fine, it's just the bordering tiles that are giving me an error. I'm playing on PC and it's unmodded.

Try looking up how to take a video on your OS. I use gyazo or the new built in Windows Xbox tools to record personally. As for the zip, you can right click the folder and choose "send to compressed" or something similar.

the tool button activates the tools but for fishing it does nothing once the minigame starts (can't catch the fish)
and for upgraded tools the animation stops when the area of effect is supposed to change
Sorry I didn't explain properly for tools button, I can cast the line but then it does nothing once the ! mark appears

They're in the parent folder of where the saves are. So if you follow the directions on https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Saves#Find_your_save_files just take off the Saves part. Should show you a directory with a few folders, one of those will be Screenshots

Hey, I've got an issue with the game;;
So, I'm on Spring year 5 in my main file, married to Elliott, at full hearts with him etc. etc. and I just learned that the crane game isn't always occupied, so I bought two tickets, invited Elliott to see the movie with me, and went in to play the game.
Unfortunately, and I tried this twice, the game crashed upon paying the 500g to play the game in the first place. Please note I only play vanilla, and that I haven't tampered with the game in any way, shape, or form.
If it's any help, I play w/ the steam version on a MacBook Air... Kind of a potato for games, but it's nice for SDV. Any help would be appreciated.
Also note I've gone to the movie theatre before this and it worked just fine, the crane game was occupied then.

The VPN discussion was for the people having trouble connecting in multiplayer. I don't think it'll help your crane game issue, which is something we haven't seen before.

If a client gets disconnected when choosing a perk, they can't get that perk at all. Level progression continues as normal, but the perk is locked as being no perk. Respec at the dog statue doesn't work, and it's never offered by sleeping on later nights.

Crossplay is only available between PC platforms, not between PC and consoles

I just updated to 1.4 on my mac but i havent updated SMAPI, i'm afraid a few of the mods i had will break the game since that came up in the smapi box in yellow before the update happened

@trail fossil Check the compat page for the compatibility status between the game and every known SMAPI mod https://mods.smapi.io/ (including which mods are obsolete, or have alternatives/unofficial updates where applicable)
For content packs, they will depend mostly on the status of their parent frameworks (like Content Patcher, or JSON Assets), but also what they add/edit that might be affected by the game, content-wise. You can check https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Migrate_to_Stardew_Valley_1.4#Update_impact for a list of affected files and how broken a CP pack would be for editing/replacing it without an update. (A CP pack that uses Load for the patch in question would be considered an XNB mod for the purposes of that table.)

You'll probably have a lot of updating to do either way :) Once SMAPI is updated and running, it will skip all the mods that won't load at all and link you any available updates, too.

Hey Thorne, generally it's possible to earn achievements in games when in offline mode, and they then sync up when you connect. Support for it is on a game by game basis, though. I'm not sure if SDV allows for that or not. If your achievements and hours aren't updated when you reconnect to Steam, it may be that SDV just doesn't support that. Someone more familiar withe code may know for sure.

There should be a folder called DisconnectLogs next to your saves folder (https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Saves#Find_your_save_files) that you could check. It might not be very informative, though. You could try switching who is the host to see if you have better luck?

Hmm, yeah the wiki (https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Mobile_Saves) just says that if there’s a backup save which is more recent than the last standard save, a prompt will ask whether it should be loaded instead 😦 I don't have the game on iOS, so I'm not sure where else to look. Possibly @sinful sparrow can weigh in?

@median crypt @wooden vessel I hate to be bearer of bad news, but if you deleted the app, you deleted your save file with it. The only possibility of recovery now is if you have an backup of that iOS device itself from before you uninstalled (either via iCloud or iTunes)
To check when you last iCloud backup was, open settings on your device, then tap your name at the top, then iCloud, scroll down to the bottom of the first section. See if the last backup was made before you uninstalled the app.

@wooden vessel I'm not going to promise this is going to work, and it's going to be a bit of effort. What you're going to need to do is:
- Created an iTunes backup of your phone in it's current state. You'll need this in case the next part messes anything up worse.
- Wipe your entire iOS device.
- Setup the device from that iCloud backup
Again, I'm not 100% sure this will work, but it's the only thing that might still have your game save. This process will have side effects, for example you'll need to re-download any music you have downloaded in the music app.

@wooden vessel This is the only way you might be able to recover the save. I believe it will work, I wouldn't recommend it if I didn't, but I've also never done it myself so I don't want to say for sure it will in case it doesn't for some reason.

@dire pike if you want to play on lan, you can make a copy of the game folder for other pcs. SDV is DRM free and only requires steam for online co-op, not local. Many of us modders test the co-op features by ourselves

Can I get some help figuring out why my game is crashing? I think it's something to do with one of my mods. It crashes when making a custom machine, but only if I'm using the gamepad which is kinda weird. I can craft them with the keyboard and mouse, and the game doesn't crash, but the machines are unusable, unbreakable, and have no name.

I just tried updating every mod so it should all be up to date, but it still doesn't work. I think the custom machine mod works for other people, so it could be an issue on my end but I'm not sure what.

2 potential bugs I (and some people here) have found:
- Having a fish pond be in contact with any side of your farm makes it unable to produce roe, but still reproduce. I moved my pond away from the side after testing for a week and it began producing again.
- Have not found any seaweed on the tidal pond in 2 full seasons. Am I just unlucky or is it season-specific?

Hi, could someone help with some fps issues? I have the steam fps viewer on, and my frames keep jumping down to 45 or 36. It’s by no means a new issue, but I’ve been sitting and waiting to see if anything online is similar or can help – nothing has. The fps gets choppy whether I’m just in the main menu or in the game.
So far, I’ve tried: clean reinstalling the name, repairing and reinstalling the xna framework, checking for corrupt files, making sure my graphics drivers are up to date, and a couple other things.
I love Stardew but this is stressing me out so bad with how nauseatingly unplayable the jumpiness makes me. I’m willing to do a fps lock; but would much rather find out what is actually wrong, if only to know if this happens again.

Hey @viscid tree -- if you go into the options menu and scroll all the way down, there should be a button that says "open destination folder" (you might have to take a map screenshot by pressing the camera button before it appears). if you press that, and go one level up, do you see an ErrorLogs folder there?

I've screwed up. Yesterday my daughter got her own version of the game so we could multiplay. I'd been playing on her computer since she got i on Friday, cause somehow my microsoft account recovered the save files eventhough i was on her steam account. When i moved to my own computer steam said that my save files didn't match and ask if i wanted to use the ones in steam cloud. I didn't think it through, just thought that it would somehow have the latest files. Today when we wanted to play again, all our progress is lost. Is it completely lost due to mods, should we just reinstall everything and not make the same mistake as to play on each others computers, not use TMXloader or do you have any suggestions? feels hopeless..

Today i tried to do a new save with another firend, he updated his game + verified the files, annnnnd we can't join each other. We tried by inviting in the lobby, by the invitation code, ect, nothing worked. Yeah, sometimes the cache gets full and things freeze. Try to fully power it off occasionally, that should help!

Do you have any mods which alter machine mechanics?
Try it without mods and if you still have the problem it may be a vanilla issue; if not, it is a mod issue
