I don't know myself, but I searched for other users with the same issue. This is how the last person solved it:
Removing SMAPI from the list of programs in my graphics setting, restarting then re-adding it seems to have fixed it. Perhaps an issue with updating either drivers/SMAPI -- both of which I've done recently.

That's the 5th stage of the plant's growth where it's full size, it looks the same as after harvest. But once it gets there it takes nearly another week before it grows the harvestable crop on it the first time.

So I haven't been able to connect to multiplayer games for a few months now the people I play with can all connect and play with other people just fine whenever I try to connect I just get connecting for ages and then eventually connection failed. I've searched for a fix for this we've both restarted multiple times I've even uninstalled and reinstalled, I don't have any mods is there any fix for this?

SDV uses a Peer 2 Peer connection. So most likely there's a hiccup somewhere while you're trying to connect. The only simple way I know that you can try, would be to install something like Hamachi, and use that as a middleman

@empty scaffold @calm zodiac I think Steam Cloud only syncs when the game exits, so I don't think it's an issue for that error. Usually that's due to a security app scanning the save file as soon as it's created, which prevents the game from writing to it. Check if your security app has a feature like 'active scanning', 'active monitoring', etc; if so add an exception for the game's save folder (https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Saves).

Ok, so just give them the save, and they can do debug customize in the SMAPI window to change your character to whatever they want... Then when they sleep it'll save a new copy of that game with their new name and stuff, and they can delete the original version with your name.

ok... I did that. Still no sound, but get this- the volume meter on Stardew is fluctuating, like there's sound, but nothing is coming out of the speakers. I tried plugging in headphones just to see, and still nope

If you're trying to edit a mod, most mods are open-source so you can download the original code instead (go to https://mods.smapi.io/, click "show advanced info", and see the "code" column).

@kindred bone It's possible, but I think you need to jailbreak your Switch to access the files. Note that Nintendo may permanently ban your device from online services if they detect that it's jailbroken.

@hasty hamlet disable the mod by renaming the folder with a . at the end, like .[CP] Immersive Farm 2. On windows, you may need to rename it to .[CP] Immersive Farm 2. tho
or by moving it out of the mods folder

btw I think I fixed my earlier issue with foxyfficiency. I got curious with what you asked about flowers and how the debug always mentioned "nectar tick". I went to the mod page and found that the IgnoreBeeFlowers part of the mod isn't implemented in v1.0 of the mod and I had it enabled in the config file. Hence the errors and debug spam.

hey, I'm gonna put this here because I finally got my crap working and I don't want anyone to go through this madness:
my stardew valley multiplayer wouldn't work. at all. and it was really weird because it worked flawlessly when I brought my laptop to my grandparents' house, but it wouldn't work on my own house.
here's what I tried to do, since I was convinced it was my internet:
resetted my router, didn't work. messed with settings on it, didn't work. called my ISP, nope.
then I tried doing shit on my pc: formatted my pc, it still didn't work. made a firewall exception, also nope. reinstalled drivers and redistributables and literally everything else the internet told me to do: multiplayer was still busted.
then TODAY I decided to... change my router. to another router, from a different brand. it worked. flawlessly. the stupid ass router was the culprit for some stupid ass reason 🤦♂️

@hexed apex I've seen the fishing rod issue, but I've never seen the player in swim mode too. If you have SMAPI, you could try entering debug canmove into the SMAPI window.

last time I used immersive farm mod, it broke one of my save files to where I couldn't use multiplayer on it anymore (despite having removed immersive farm when I wanted to go to that specific save file), and I don't want a repeat of last time

I donated the Ancient Seed Artifact, but now that I have a second Ancient Seed I don't appear to have the crafting recipe. I checked at the museum, there are unclaimed rewards, but the recipe is not one of them. What gives?
I'm on the Switch, if that matters.

there are two versions of the item - the artifact (that can be donated) and also the seed (which is planted)
the crafting recipe turns the artifact into the plantable seed

howdy!! I've been trying to play multiplayer online with a couple of friends for like... a week now, and I haven't been able to get it to work. It's definitely on my side, because they can connect to each other's farms but I can't connect to theirs and they can't connect to mine when I try to host. I've tried a wide array of things that were recommended online but nothing worked. I always just get the message 'Connection failed'.

That may only be for your currently planted crops. Newly planted ones may work like normal.

I noticed there is meat in the springobjects.xnb file and would like to make a barn animal that produces meat. is there an item # assigned to that meat in there? is it sellable/useable if you do access it?

the easiest way to solve it is by using Hamachi (the people you want to play with will also need it i believe)
and join through LAN
