Hi! Not sure if this is the correct place to post, if it isn't I apologize.

I'm currently trying to setup a SMAPI server for my friends so they can play without having to rely on each other (they all work diferent hours, etc). I was wondering if I could set it up on my Debian VPS? It runs Debian 9.6.

The issue I'm running into is that the installer is asking for the game's executable (which is absent). Can I run SMAPI on Debian 9? I thought I saw that it could run on Linux.

SMAPI is the mod loader, so you'll need the base game too.

Both the game and SMAPI do run on Linux though, and there's a mod for always-on servers.

Yep. Unfortunately the game needs the GUI to run, it doesn't have a true server mode.

(The host is an actual player that other players connect to, it's not a headless server.)

Good evening y'all! Wanted to ask if there are someone else here that has experienced a very sudden drop in fps that is hard to troubleshoot? Since I play with mods I'm trying to cautiously do that now in order to not corrupt my save file, but do any of you have a tip of where to look? I play on a Mac, have everything up to date, and have tried to verify the integrity of the game files via Steam.

And I don't watch netflix! I do listen to podcasts both on iTunes and/or YouTube, but I've also played without any of these in the background and I can't really notice a difference. I do however experience that the lag gets worse during the day, and continues to worsen with the day after. So directly after I start the game I can play around half a day without any significant lag, but then it goes downhill

This is a wild thing to try, but try removing the Deep Woods better performance addon

I noticed lag in my game a couple days ago and it ended up actually being that, I haven't figured out why so I haven't notified the author yet

but it seems like it actually hurts performance on my lower end computer rather than helping it

With regular deepwoods I'm fine, but with the performance addon installed I get incredible lag just like you described

Hi, i'm new here, i recently started using mods for Stardew and suddenly my game decided to crash completely every time i try to open it, i uninstalled Smapi and tried removing my mods folder and then it gave me the "Missing Executable" error message every time i tried to start the game. i tried uninstalling and re-installing but it didn't help. @ancient badge the invisible joystick with 2 button (also hidden) is in the right side of your screen it can be modfied in setting the area of each buttons

my tips: use invisible joystick to roam arround the town as it easy to control the direction and switch to tap2 control by the small button in the top left to do work like farming/mining

they did pretty good job by adding those little switch button. well done

I have some sound issues on Android.

Sometimes the sound FX will get a Reverb/Delay (footsteps, menu sounds, ect) music sounds washed out and I have the feeling there isn't much music playing as on the PC version.

we tested things out a bunch, I have an error log, and what we notice is that, the one who hosts has mods working perfectly fine (we have the exact same mods and i made sure they worked before transferring them over); but the non-hosting person can't go to the pelican town center

idk if i can't leave the farm at all or if its just that one area, but it's causing difficulty to say the least aaa

the bus stop between the farm and pelican town also works?

we can't tell if its a problem with a specific mod or if its a problem with the game.

Hey guys, I've got SV on my computer, but have really wanted to get it on my phone. The problem is that it doesn't seem to be appearing on the South Korean Google play store. I could change the location of the Google play store, but I can only do that once a month, and I don't think one could top up an account with a currency of a different country (using a 10,000 won gift card instead of a 10 dollar/pound one). Furthermore, I don't have an address/phone number in any other country, and so I couldn't be able to pay for it anyway.
TL;DR: does anyone know whether SV is coming to the Google play store?

you cannot send a nintendo switch save file to your mobile device

the only way you can currently transfer saves is pc to mobile

It's possible to access the Switch save (I think you might need to jailbreak the Switch first?), but unfortunately the save format is different so it won't work on other devices.

@rigid orchid It's a bit tricky if you can't use Steam. The easiest option might be to use Hamachi (which has a Linux client) to set up a virtual LAN connection, then just connect via IP.

@hexed apex You could try asking ConcernedApe, but usually developers don't accept fan translations because it makes the copyright situation a lot more complicated. Instead they hire translation companies that have contracts specifically to address that.

Yep. You can reinstall SMAPI temporarily, trash the items in-game (SMAPI automatically prevents things like that from crashing the game), then remove SMAPI afterwards if you want.

Are you able to destroy the crops despite the error? If it's just showing an error in the console but otherwise working, you can just trash those error items.

Those seem to be custom crops that no longer exist, so the game is just erroring when trying to load their info.

@novel oasis Stardew Valley 1.3.36 was released recently, so updating to the latest SMAPI from https://smapi.io should fix that. You may need to update your mods too; the SMAPI console will show update alerts in purple, and you can check https://mods.smapi.io to know which mods have updates or alternatives.

it was also having errors from climates of ferngill/weather illnesses which we both thought would work but apparently did not so it just kept repeating errors over and over and somehow didn't crash for a VERY long time
