Artisan Valley is just JSON configuration files and images. It's Json Assets and Custom Farming Redux that handle logic like converting things from/to chests.

Not sure why you were getting errors in 1.3.0, but what you describe is a known issue with Json Assets 1.3.1.

My name is Alison and I have recently purchased Stardew Valley to play with my friends! There's an issue however, the only option I see with the co-op button is to join a LAN server. Another issue I'm having is that I cannot invite friends when hosting, there is no option for it under multiplayer nor do I have a friend-only server mode option. Also, when I try and enter a friends IP into co-op, the game completely crashes or loses connection.
I have a "Dell Inspiron 15 3000 Series" laptop that is fully updated, my steam is updated and Stardew Valley is also up to date. I have already tried restarting steam, reinstalling the game 3 times, restarting my laptop, using the "jumpingjunimos" beta code, and verifying integrity of game files.
If I could please get a solution to this issue that would be greatly appreciated!

So it sounds like that's the reason you're not getting invite codes. For some reason Steam isn't adding itself to the game correctly.

@flat drift Yep, but the game isn't able to access the Steam SDK. That's the error you see in the SMAPI console, and it's probably why the invite codes (which use Steam) aren't working without SMAPI too.

According to Google results, that can be caused by an antivirus blocking parts of Steam. Can you try disabling your antivirus temporarily, and see if it still happens?

Yep, several of the search results about that error seem to mention Comodo. It sounds like it's blocking access to some of the files (that's what the OpenFileMapping errors are about).

@snow shale Updating to SMAPI 2.11 should fix that. Just unzip the latest version from https://smapi.io/, run the install on Windows (or equivalent if you're on Linux/Mac), and it'll update automatically.

Nope, that was just to test that it was causing the problem. First can you re-enable the antivirus and see if it still works? I think it's the auto-containment that was causing it.

Okay! So you just need to add an exception for Stardew Valley and SMAPI in your auto-containment options, and you won't need to disable it anymore. I don't use Comodo, but these instructions should do it: http://help.comodo.com/topic-399-1-790-10323-.html.

Hello everyone.. I know this a beaten horse but after using the discord search to specifically looking up "Multiplayer" and then flipping through 33 pages of issues, I could not find an actual solution to fix my game. I only have the LAN option when trying to play online with friends. I've been at this for a bit now and have tried everything from checking firewalls and disabling them and antivirus turned them back on of course when it wasn't the solution, running Stardew and/or Steam in admin, downloaded the Visual C++, uninstalling steam and stardew, deleting certain files, checking game file integrity, and the list continues. Try logging in to his account on your computer. If it works, then it's something with your Steam account (maybe account settings); it it doesn't, probably something on your computer.

They can't connect over multiplayer, but only when using their Steam account. Someone else's Steam account on that same computer works; their Steam account on someone else's doesn't.
So my guess is that some of their Steam settings are breaking multiplayer, and it's being sync'd when they login.

Mono has been required on Linux/Mac since SMAPI 2.0 (October 2017). It may have already been installed on the system though. Also SMAPI will mostly work without it, it'll just freeze when it tries to use certain features if you don't have it installed. (If you use the installer, it checks for Mono before letting you install.)

I'm not sure what else it could be. You could try contacting Steam Support, and mention that multiplayer works with your husband's account (on any computer) but not yours (on any computer).

Alright... so... of course I expected a reply like this but please correct me if I am wrong... if it were a Network issue, wouldn't I NOT be able to use my husbands account on my computer either? It feels like they just skim over the issue and then find the easiest solution... could be the pregger hormones but this frustrated me... I will still try their recommendations and hope they work but it seems like it wouldn't be the issue.

Hello everyone. I have a question today i've made my mom a steam account and bought stardew valley for her so we could play co-op. But when she was playing she could see all my previous files. So i've deleted all her files re-installed her game even re-installed steam and put out the cloud share option but when we try to connect to my farm it says on her game not enough slots available. what can i do to fix that?

Hmm, it should... But perhaps the friend ended up using both somehow... If you know one is unused, you can demolish it at Robin and rebuild it.
You can go into both beforehand, and check the drawers there to see what that player had in their inventory.
So if one has a load of stuff, and one has only the starting tools or something, you could delete the one with nothing.
Or you could just build a third cabin somewhere, they're cheap and get built instantly.

Hello, i need some help. I have modded Stardew and the mods seem to work fine. However im running a pretty beefy computer with 24 gigs of ram, 1070 pgu and i5-6600k still stardew lags and goes down to 30 fps with some drops. I have checked in taskmanager and the issue seems to be connected to that the game wont use what my computer can offer. Even though the game runs slow my gpu is only being used 8 percent (since this is a 2d game that is usual, but my cpu is also only being used 30 percent by stardew and in total there is still 20-30 percent completely free that stardew doesnt use.
