So I'm seeing how it goes. It does seem to generate stuff faster than before, and I'm just in Spring Year 2

I left several of them fully grown on the ground on purpose for a day, to synchronize growth schedules. None of the tiles below them were un-tilled on the day I actually harvested

Not that way. But you can have everything watered on day 1 with sprinklers and "cheap seeds" (i.e. parsnips on the 28th of spring). Those crops won't grow but you get watered fields.

Fiber seeds would be the best choice as you can grow those in time so you do benefit (and you can grow them with fertilizer as fertilizer will stay if you harvest them on the first saving you having to use fertilizer on day 1). Winter seeds would be another option (bit expensive but better than nothing). You probably won't get enough powder melon seeds depending on the size of your fields to make that an option to begin with.

Last day to plant them without speed grow is last monday of a season to have them ready on the first.

The main issue with fiber seeds (if you need hundreds) is to get the mixed seeds. Depending on the amount of fields you have you might pay Krobus a visit on thursday (you get 4 fiberseeds per mixed seed, clay and sap).

Mixed flower seeds unfortunately don't work for fiber seeds.

Although depending on how far into the game you are Krobus isn't your only option. At some point the wife of the racoon trades cave carrots for mixed seeds.

Best use for fiberseeds would be planting them on fall 28 if you used deluxe speed grow on your pumpkins to keep the fertilizer for spring for triple harvest of spring crops. For spring / summer and summer / fall changes fiberseeds don't work so well as they take too long. You're better with using parsnips by the end of spring and coffee beans by the end of summer (or radish) and fertilize again on the first of the next season.
