I used input-remapper to bind a bunch or keybinds to the controller when steam isn't open to automatically open certain applications or perform specific actions

oh and arrow keys

then when steam launches it effectively hijacks the controller and makes it actually behave like a controller with controller inputs

it's been wonderful

I defined a bunch of macros that are generally a combination of tab + arrow keys

that do stuff like open jellyfin/Firefox/steam, change volume, close application

tab by itself is disabled to avoid annoyance

arrow keys by themselves are bound to vertical and horizontal scrolling respectively since horizontal scrolling is actually useful in jellyfin

surprisingly also works in a lot of image viewers to navigate between images

making a mod loader for Axiom Verge and currently deliberating on whether to include a publicizer in the installation process that sets the accessor of every type member in the game assembly to public

the upsides being eliminating any janky Reflection code from mods and making the process smoother

a potential downside was brought up which is that people won't know that they aren't supposed to access/change certain fields, NOT doing this would ensure that people at least know that they're accessing something that is supposed to be private, then they always have the option to access it through Reflection

would like to know what you think

If you know what fields aren't supposed to be changed, can't you exclude them? I don't know how a publicizer works. other than that it makes fields public.

It's a lovely little helper Nuget package, to be super brief with it. Does things like searches for the game path to automatically add the required assembly references, etc.. It also has a tiny little EnableHarmony MSBuild property you can get to have it add a reference to its bundled Harmony, too.

If this mod loader had something similar, you could have, say:

  <Publicize>Rendering;World</Publicize>
</PropertyGroup>

Or... something like that. And based on whichever (correct) things are specified, your helper Nuget package could publicise certain assemblies/classes for the mod requesting it.

I tried that once. And dropped it on vacation. I didn't have any issues being without a phone. My mother had a lot of issues with me not having a phone while we were on vacation.
I spent 150€ replacing the screen myself. It worked.
Then I dropped it less than a year later. I will never not use a case anymore.
