while it may seem like it only adds QOL stuff on your end, it can actually cause confusion. E.g. the host having the peakstats mod resulted in respawns not working, which then flooded bug reports, because lots of ppl in their game, including the host, didnt know it was a bug with the mod

However, I have concerns about performace on the latest version. Specifically, the frametime spikes are back when I was trying to eliminating it in the older version.
Rather than continuing to diverge, I would like to create and publish an alternate version on Thunderstore.

Client Side would mean that it affects only one client (the one with the mod)

peak already has culling for objects you cannot see, so the problem is not that it needs to render, more like it needs to process all of the items that are spawned in

whenever you light the campfire, items on trees, vines and bushes are spawned

as well as some checks are activated to allow tornadoes to spawn and what not

keeping all of them loaded at once will most definitely tank the performance

What happens when lets say 2/4 players installed an all client mods (host also installed)? What will the other 2 see/experience? or will it work at all?

doesnt work properly, for example floor is lava the other people will die from lava except the person who didnt install it

or with soulmates you dont link stamina bars properly

with hunter vs climber you arent able to attack others

with the hazards spam the hazards dont load for anyone

with chained, the chain doesnt affect the person who doesnt have it but still pulls the others around

I just don't want to deal with people dying and losing their lantern, I've done pitch black and peak to beach at the same time and it was pretty fun but it was on a lower ascent

@frigid canyon Pahsiv was showing me a different pitch black mod that might fix what wasn't working with the other one

lowkey, most of the mods are available and up to date on thunderstore - only a small amount are available on nexus

you can see the pinned msg on how to install a mod manager for thunderstore if you dont understand manual modding

thunderstore does the same thing as nexus; distributing mods. there are some mods in Nexus for Peak, but the modding community has largely chosen Thunderstore as the main site for Peak mods

i've only used nexus for cyberpunk tbh, and put up with the egregious installation process of modpacks for a while

then met Thunderstore with Peak and now i hate nexus

yeah im the same, only used nexus for bg3... even then I only stuck to mods with large number of downloads that were trusted by the community. Im more likely to try out newer mods on thunderstore cos personally I just trust it more haha

if its a mod issue then you can contact the mod developer

or go through and remove the mod

try running vanilla and see if it crashes again

if its crashing when running modded then its definitely mod related

you can trial and error your mods to see too
