(In idea for this, written by me in a quick little blurb)

The room was quiet, the sunset painting the sky in an array of oranges and reds, setting the trees that could be seen as black silhouettes. Hardly visible as the twilight hours ticked onward.

For one little scout, now safe from his perilous climb from the infamous peak, the sunset was... Hardly a sense of comfort or safety. Tangerine stared at his helmet, his fingers tracing the scars across his right eye, newly acquired, and another gift from the mountain. Tangerine couldn't look at his own reflection, while the lucky one that got away? The others remained, laying somewhere on that forgotten peak.

"We were so close... It was right there..."

His thoughts running rampant, gripping the sheets of his bed as he stared at the floor. Tears began to fall, ones held in for so long until now. Made worse by the memory of those screams and cries for help... What could he have done..? If he'd jumped after the two he saw fall in the Kiln, he wouldn't have made it either. But would he have...?

Survivor's guilt... That's what the doctors said as he recovered, as well as other medical terms he didn't understand. With all this in mind he went to wash his face, keeping the scars clean as they still healed, replacing bandages, the whole nine yards in silence.

Returning to his room again, something... Curious, was on the bed. A green binder with what seemed like no pages inside. A sinking feeling gripped his guts, his head felt like it was buzzing, every hair standing on end as he shakily reached for the little binder... Opening it subconsciously.

If I were to describe this scout in passing without a name I think it would be something like...

He's never really scared, at least as far as I can tell, he takes what he does seriously. After all he is one of the medic scouts... However, he is always aware, the danger is everywhere, and while he's not afraid of it, he's just... Never not anticipating the worst thing. preparing for it over and over, a constant plan of action, and a definite scout of action.

He loves what he does. He just never says it.

i accidentely posted the same drawing in #🗣fanart-discussion as well but that one is a reply to the original concept document so you can look at it if you want, its just rocks you can climb up on to to regen stamina since like the mesa, the bottom half is like its own portion (you have to swim)

The Mesa was a new discovery, beyond the knowledge that the sun seemed to scorch anything that wasn't in the shade not a lot was known about the new place.

This of course came with a whole new territory of wonder and questions. Something about a golden statue to an old being was found, among writings that were written in some form of language unknown. The scouts weren't supposed to be here, but they found it anyways... The scout friendly plush they always hold at night while they slept had a much more dark and sinister origin.

As it was written in the ancient times, this thing they call "Bing Bong" is described as... Everything that man knew about, that they could describe, but it was also none of these things. They say a man wrote an entire manuscript in two nights, eyes aglow while whispering in a language that tore his tongue apart. We've yet to know what he said, or what was written...

For now, it remains hidden, but any more prodding might reveal things that the scouts will truly regret. They don't deserve to know, only because, they don't deserve the same fates as everyone else...
