not sure i can explain it right but if you look at smooth wall and flick your mouse while grabbing and letting go of the wall it lets you climb across a smooth spot without loosing much stamina. You gotta do it fast tho. (Is this right?)

i managed to get past the roots and make good progress on the alpines... until i got softlocked inside a cave and fell to my death
