I do have an rtx 3060 laptop now so i can experience a stable 90fps on PEAK 1080p high settings and im quite content with that.

geforceNOW- -its a software that basically links you to a virtual machine to play games if you dont meet the minimum requirements. There is a free tier - game sessions are limited to 1 hour though, you can join back (if youre playing multiplayer) unlimited times for free but there may be a queue

tldr: theres a free tier, so you dont need to pay. You basically stream the game from a virtual machine onto your laptop instead of using your own, but there are some time limitations etc

it usually means your gpu doesnt meet the minimum requirements, you can try:

• Launching on vulkan instead of dx
• Setting texture quality to low

It depends on your system, really. I would say to use what Steam recommends, but..

• Vulkan is better optimized for those that know how to use it and set it up.
• DX11 is better for older systems that don't quite meet the requirements for PEAK.
• DX12 is best for newer machines and will typically run smoother if able.

most ppl use a modmanager like thunderstore mod manager app (i use r2modman because its exactly like thunderstore but doesnt have adds or use overwolf).
You can do it manually as well, but if you dont mod much id suggest a mod manager.

I have a short guide of how to do it over in modded chat if you want the link, but i'll stop yapping about this in vanilla chat before i get told off ahahaha

as in the idea that it helps with having to go into a million directories and move a bunch of stuff and instead have a centralized place you can move everything

its just a different launcher yeah, but has your mods saved in a sperate location to the main game.

that way if you have any issues or whatever, you can load it up directly on steam without any mods affecting it

nope, it still loads in all your data from the main game (and also ascents/badges etc are tied to your steam account, which it loads it in from), its just the mods that are stored in a different location and loaded in

Does anyone know how I can fix my game loading? The map is mostly invisible and I can't see my friends heads, I tried googling and it said it could be storage issue so I deleted a few things and have 40+GB of free storage, anyone know how I can try to fix this?

It was a combination of luck and good map generation. 11/13/25 had ancient luggages in both the shore and roots. Me, my partner and my friend (the people I was playing with) were very coordinated with staying warm during the night.

That's a great point! Using the campfires to keep from the cold is smart. It's also nice that once you get past alpine/mesa that difficulty modifier doesn't even matter

yeah i think if they introduced a new biome 1, ppl would find it boring, cos they couldnt just add a new biome with LOADS of features. cos shore is kinda designed to be boring.... caldera could have sort of a re-theme, but again theres not tooo much going on. i guess you could replace the threat of the lava with something else but it wouldnt be a massive thing

I think it depends. I don't know I might be weird but at times I find Alpine to be easier than Mesa. Not all the time though.
