tropical can be sometime hard to pass.. I have often followed a path but no easy way up. The best way are the vines, they usually help a lot. Same for the big tree's if there are any. Try to find a good path and to look back, if you only look forward, you may run into trouble. Its best to use items if stuck

you need to change lobby type to friends (settings in main menu), then load into airport at usual. The join game button will appear then :). They dont need to be on your friendlist

Yes, tried it with my friend, and it rewards you with all the badge rankings up until the current one that you completed, so if your friend only has access to ascent 1 but you're the host and beat ascent 5 together, then your friend will unlock all 5 lvls

In the Main Menu screen, Go to Settings, in General tab there's the setting to set the lobby (forgot the exact name) make sure set it to "Friend" instead of "Invite Only"
