tropics can be tricky, but my tips would be
- scan the map for a potential route (do this with all maps really) and look for things like staircase-type paths, with lots of bits that would be easily climbable. if you can't find one, look for a route that has that to begin with and either use items or once you reach a difficult part, look around for any other easy ways up
- be very careful about poison explosives and the normal ones, make sure to keep your eyes peeled
- don't climb in rain generally, but it can be okay if you have to/it's a short distance
- make good use of the non-spiky vines as climbing surfaces, and also the regular vines can be useful in taking you higher up than you'd normall be able to climb, as well as providing a safe way of jumping down if you have to. The trees can be very helpful to climb, and if you can make it the giant trees can be a good way up too as well as occasionally having luggage
also if you have to to bridge a gap you CAN jump on the poison ones just not as a long term route
i think a lot of new players get discouraged because people say "don't do xyz" when in reality a lot of paths are usable in a pinch you just have to be careful it won't kill you

that's okay!!!! honestly i don't really view learning peak so much as learning the whole game because you do have to really learn each biome's differences as well, and part of that is just dying until you learn to make it to the next one and then learning that one
i mean some people are cracked and just peak the first time they play the game but for the rest of us normal people....
