there are known bugs with vc atm, that being said you can try a couple of troubleshooting steps.

1. Ppl having issues have found that running the same launch option (vulkan or dx12) has fixed their issue
2. you can go to the mirror in the airport, if your mic is working then your mouth will move

The game can be closed, however if you have it running, make sure it is in the main menu (and NOT the airport). If nothing happens after that it means the lobby is full.
