Attached my logs zip folder.
Running a 9070 XT, 32 GB of Ram, and a AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D. I shouldn't be having these issues.

Adrenalin has this game running on my GPU, not the integrated one.

I've tinkered with my settings a few times, maybe I missed something.

The logs show it trying to run through Mesa/llvmpipe which is weird because that's a linux thing

tall osprey
#

I am not on linux, anything I need to change to stop it from doing that?

scarlet tartan
#

Let me have a look, this isn't something I've seen before

tall osprey
#

Much appreciated!

scarlet tartan
#

Can you try launching the game with the "alternate launch" option that steam gives you?

tall osprey
#

Will do.

#

It just instantly closes itself the moment I press a button to continue after the console.

scarlet tartan
#

Ok, are your graphics drivers up to date?

tall osprey
#

yep, updated them today

scarlet tartan
#

did you have this issue before updating?

tall osprey
#

yes

#

i only updated them to try and fix this

scarlet tartan
#

Can you go in to the start menu, search "Graphics settings", in that window search for project zomboid and change it to high performance?

tall osprey
#

already is there

#

also made sure it was like that within adrenalin as well

scarlet tartan
#

can you try turning off that HDR setting?

tall osprey
#

sure, want me to try running the game now?

scarlet tartan
#

please

tall osprey
#

still a slideshow sadly

scarlet tartan
#

do you have any other OpenGL games such as Minecraft Java Edtion installed you can test to see if it's a general issue with OpenGL games?

tall osprey
#

sadly no

#

is this an issue that could be patched out later? idrm waiting

scarlet tartan
#

The game recognises your graphics card so it's not an issue with the game not seeing the card it just doesn't want to use it for some reason

tall osprey
#

anything to do, or am i waiting on a patch?

scarlet tartan
#

I don't think it's a game issue or we would be seeing a lot of this and you are the first I've seen, I think it's a corrupted AMD driver. Are you able to do a clean install of your graphics drivers?

Run the downloaded AMD Software installer.

During the preliminary scan, click on Additional Options or the gear/settings icon.

Select the Factory Reset (or Clean Install) option.

Click Install. The utility will remove previous configurations and restart your PC automatically

tall osprey
#

Alr I'll do that. Gimme 10 or so

#

@scarlet tartan this option?

#

not sure if this one matters

#

i assume i'd uncheck it

scarlet tartan
#

probably best to uncheck it just incase it's a settings issue

tall osprey
#

Yep!

#

no dice, seems to be still be running slow

#

want the logs?

scarlet tartan
#

Yes please

tall osprey
scarlet tartan
#

And you've reconfigured everything in the AMD software and Windows to force it to use the GPU?

tall osprey
#

did that earlier, but i can re-check now

#

settings may have changed with reinstall

#

still seem to be how i set em before

#

theyre set to the GPU

scarlet tartan
#

In that case lets focus on the game instead.

Can you try doing a full reinstall?

First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there.

After that, go to “%UserProfile%\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.

Then just install the game again and see if that helps.

tall osprey
#

yep

#

i can do that

#

@scarlet tartan ok so its fixed

#

and i know why lol

#

steam didnt remove the opengl.dll file when i uninstalled it, so i deleted it

#

seems that the file was corrupted at some point?

scarlet tartan
#

I'm glad you got it working, that was a head scratcher

tall osprey
#

yep, ty for the help!
