Ive been trying to play with mods with my friend on b42, but every time theres an error/it doesnt load/game crashes. its gotten very frustrating. were both new to the game, so i dont really know what to do to get those mods to work. if anyone can help me set up a coop server i would be really thankful, or reccomend a modpack that works on b42 multiplayer

If you have issues with mods, try disabling them one by one or in batches to figure out which specific mod is causing the problems.
Do it on a new save to to prevent any issues on your current playthrough as removing mods can cause items to be permanently deleted.
After you find out which mod is problematic, consider reporting the problem to the mod creator on their workshop page.

all mods work on SP, its the MP thats the problem, and testing them individualy takes so much time since the server has to be set up

Try enabling mod cores in the Steam workshop in your MP settings.
