Game Crashes Joining Friend

I try to join a friends server which 2 days ago would have no issue, but yesterday after the walking zombie animation black screen where it says start in the bottom, my mouse loading wheel pops up and the game crashes. I removed all the mods, removed the save, went back to stable and back to 42, uninstalled and reinstalled the game and took off the mods and removed the saved but still the game crashes. Anyone know how to fix this?

Are you able to start a new, vanilla singleplayer save?

Yea I could play singleplayer (created a new character and loaded in) and I tried hosting a multiplayer session, but I had the same eero. Pressed Start, loaded forever then crashed

Bro, i try to make a new map on singeplayer, i load into the map quick then my game crashes instantly to desktop, i reinstalled the game, deleted everything and started all from 0, nothing works, no mods, all vanilla, this new update fucked everything, i can no longer make any map because my game is crashing.

Can you share your logs.zip file found in %UserProfile%\Zomboid?
And with crash issues, can you share all “hs_err_pid” files found in your main game folder “Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid”?

I also checked the console log and this is what happened after trying to join a test server. This happened before it says "Start" on the black screen with the walking zombie

I used the alternative start-up option on Steam to get this console to show up, normal start-up doesn't show this

Can you try removing the ", " and "?" from your steam username then try again?

i can confirm this worked for me i removed special characters and i can now play!

Yup, can't believe special characters in my Steam name made the game unplayable
