hi, my friend and i were playing on my modded pz server and out of no where the game crashed and now i cant host the server no more because it gets stuck at loading map chunks and then kicks me with the message "Failed to download map from server." im trying to fix this problem for the past 3-4 hours and nothing works so this is my only solution to write here

One of the chunks in your save has probably been corrupted when the crash happened. Do you remember where on the map you were when the crash happened?

ok, first of all make a back up of the save, then you can try going in to the Save folder, opening the chunkdata folder and deleting the file "chunkdata_48_16.bin" to see if that helps

You see the numbers in the top of each box? that corresponds to a chunkdata file, you'll see the one I had you delete has the same numbers

i played for 5 minutes and it crashed again, and same error message once again
i tried to delete the chunks
but didnt help it

It's a different chunk with the error this time, it doesn't say which though. I think a mod you're using is breaking the save. Can you try starting a new save and playing on that for a while to see if the same thing happens again?

2 days ago we started playing this modpack
and the same error happened
but now we got very far so i coudnt bring myself starting over

If it's happening on a new save then I would consider going through the mods one by one, or half by half to see which is causing the issue and reporting it to the mod creator on the workshop page.

to be honest i know which mod is it
if i recall correctly everytime before the game crashed i smoked
and the animation bugged me out
like i coudnt move and also the animation kept repeating while i couldnt do anything
and then crashed my game
and that what started this
maybe true smoking is bugged as hell
so i fount this post that you were there too and had the same problem as me
i tried what he told
and it worked
coincidence or not he was playing the same modpack as me
because i found him linking this thread in the modpack comments
im going to sleep now because its almost 1am for me and tomorrow i will be playing, hopefully the problem will not reappear
