If I update my game to 4217, once I get past cc menu and try and load in, I exactly 79 errors every time, and I don't get to load into the game. I've done a complete wipe, fresh install, everything, and it still is not working. I heard someone say that the only way they fixed a similar issue was to install zomboid on a fresh hard drive, but that isn't possible for me. Anyone know what to do?

I know you said you tried it but did you follow the steps below exactly for a fresh install?
First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there.
After that, go to “%UserProfile%\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.
Then just install the game again and see if that helps.

The other trick that sometimes helps is verifying the integrty of game files from steam game properties.
