completely vanilla, tried to verify integrity of files and i've tried uninstalling and instaling b42.17.0 unstable

mmmm sometimes there are left over files in install even after you uninstall

try this

  1. Steam properties -> Installed Files -> browse
  2. uninstall zomboid.
  3. see if there are any left over files and delete them
  4. install zomboid fresh clean
