After the latest update my old survivor file was corrupted (oops) so it was time to make a new run. I randomly generated this guy Dion Butterfield and after a few random trait roles, we got this construction worker guy. So, I didn’t actually begin in Cortman Medical, nor the house in the neighborhood down the street. I actually spawned in a trailer park a hop skip & jump north of CM. After only maybe 15-20 minutes of scavenging & bashing zombies with a frying pan, I was looting a nearby house and managed to accidentally jump/hop off the stairs from the 2nd floor. He suffered deep lacerations in his left leg… and I hadn’t found a single suture.
So I had a choice: restart or ride it out. I decided to just keep wrapping rags around my leg before I bled out. I hobbled through 4 or 5 houses as fast as possible, not a single suture inside any of them. But, I found a car with a key, that just barely ran with a few drops of gas in it. Now based off my memory, I was fairly sure if I went south enough I remembered that there was Cortman somewhere in Muldraugh, I just had to get there before I bled out and my health was dropping fast. I said screw it, and floored it south until I started recognizing the area. Somehow I finally got there, but it was swarming with zeds. There was no way to fight off 30+ zeds with a gimpy leg and a frying pan. After plowing into the crown (in reverse) until I cleared enough of a path to get inside the main building, as the smaller building was still crawling. I hobbled inside, killed a couple zoms, and locked myself in the office upstairs while I sutured/stitched/disinfected/bandaged my wounds.
I spent the next several days clearing the block, looting the neighborhood and scavenging. The helicopter showed up on day 5 so that got dicey, but I re-cleared the area over time.
Sorry if this is too much info, but if anyone is interested I’d be happy to share more stories and screenshots as our journey goes on. Thanks for reading.
