Okay so, there are FIVE files the same, and when opening one of them it says: A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment

#

all five are with fatal erros

#

errors

Go to “%UserProfile%\Zomboid” and delete the "mods" folder.

alternatively unsubscribing from all the mods will work

#

You can also try a total settings reset by going to ""%UserProfile%\Zomboid" and deleting everything except the "Saves" folder

That's the nuclear option. I've encountered the glitch he's mentioning numerous times. Workshop purge usually does the trick

#

as in unsubscribing

#

i did this

#

and did not work

#

i'll re-try it again tho

Can you try doing a full reinstall?

First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there.

After that, go to “%UserProfile%\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.

Then just install the game again and see if that helps.

#

in the files

#

also the Steam/steamapps/common/ProjectZomboid

#

also is this the file

#

right it opened on cmd for some reason

#

im on B42

#

i found these but uh

#

i`ll try doing what you said tho

#

first i gotta find %UserProfile%\Zomboid and Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid

night scarab
#

You can find the steam library by right click on the game in steam, going to "Manage" and clicking "Browse Local Files"

The \Zomboid folder will usually be under "C:\Users\YourUserNameHere\Zomboid" but that's not always the case depending on how you have windows set up

golden venture
#

these two?

#

cause uhh i cannot find my user for some reason

night scarab
#

You should be able to just paste that in to the nav bar in a File Explorer window and it will take you to the folder

night scarab
# golden venture these two?

That's the steamapps folder, after uninstalling the game through steam you need to make sure that folder is either gone or empty

golden venture
#

i need to delete all but saves

#

right?

night scarab
#

All but saves in the Zomboid folder yes

#

the steamapps folder should be completely empty or gone after uninstall, if there's stuff still there you need to delete it

golden venture
#

this is waht i see

#

oh wait

#

wrong one

#

i believe i should delete these?

night scarab
#

yes

golden venture
#

now i should just re-install and it should be working?

night scarab
#

That's the theory

golden venture
#

i`ll go eat real quick

#

and then i`ll try nuclear option

golden venture
#

@night scarab sorry for ping but

#

for the nuclear option, delete ALL but latestsave and Saves?

#

or delete ALL but Saves

night scarab
#

all but saves

golden venture
#

okay

#

aight, so

#

just open the game again?

#

heey it works now!

#

Thanks man
