Game crashes on load on clean install, doesn't reach main menu

This looks like a game install problem, can you try doing a full reinstall?
First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there.
After that, go to “%UserProfile%\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.
Then just install the game again and see if that helps.

yeah, done that a few times

#

updated video drivers aswell

#

and verified integrity of game files aswell

I have also tried disabling steam overlay and checked the reliability history but this doesn't seem to have any impact

Is there someone who sees what could be the problem after reading my logs?

the install is clean, no mods or anything

Additionally, can you share all “hs_err_pid” files found in your main game folder “Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid”?

#

Yeah, gimme a minute

#

yeah, I don't think I have an hs_err_pid file

Can I ask how you installed Steam exactly?

#

Since the game seems to consider the path invalid

#

Do you also have a secondary hard drive, such as your D: drive?

high shard
#

I only have one hard drive, and I installed steam through scoop

#

scoop uses junctions, would that be the problem?

#

because build 41 works fine. Can build 42 not handle junctions propperly?

In the Storage Steam settings, you can createa new Steam library folder and then reinstall the game there

high shard
#

yeah, that'll probably be the best solution to be able to keep using scoop with steam

#

I'll give that a shot

I moved steam out of scoop because it turned out to be a bit of a hassle having multiple steam libraries on the same drive. After zomboid is installed I'll see if it works
