here's the error message when launching in alternate launch

i've been dealing with this situation for months now with no real way on how to fix it

oh and just to note down that i only have one drive and that's my C drive

no other drives are present in my laptop

What steps have you previously taken to try and fix the issue?

I've tried the 2 relocating the zomboid folder into another folder thing but that didn't work

I also tried reinstalling drivers but that also didn't worked

Then I tried reinstalling the game multiple times over the course of months since I assumed this was a bug on other users end but that obviously didn't work

And I kinda have no idea what to do right now

When you did the reinstall did you make sure there are were no leftover files in "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and that the "\Zomboid" folder, wherever you pointed it to, is empty apart from the saves folder?

Oh just to note as I remembered now the game worked only on alternate launch when I freshly installed it back when I first had my laptop without modifying the game

It was only after if I recall correctly when I tried to mess with the project zomboid folders to get a mod running was when things went haywire

Although my memory might be fuzzy at that point since it was a long time

No problem, this thread will remain here. Just make sure those folders are clean when you do the reinstall, the error is happening in Java before the game even gets to launch.

Also can you share any "hs_err_pid" files that appear in "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" before you do the reinstall.

since i was scrambling through reddit to find where the hs_err_pid files may be

i will just clean up and delete every thing in the ProjectZomboid and Zomboid aside from the saves folder like you told me to
