Issue
On a dedicated multiplayer server, discovered minimap/world map areas do not persist correctly after disconnect/reconnect, even on a fresh vanilla save with no mods.

A player joins, reveals several chunks, disconnects, reconnects with the same character, and the map appears undiscovered again.

Expected
Previously discovered map areas should remain discovered after reconnect.

Actual
Previously discovered map areas become undiscovered after reconnect.

Clean repro conditions

  • Fresh save
  • Mods=
  • WorkshopItems=
  • AllowMiniMap = true
  • AllowWorldMap = true
  • MapAllKnown = false

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start a dedicated server on a fresh save.
  2. Join with a character.
  3. Reveal several map chunks.
  4. Disconnect.
  5. Reconnect with the same character.
  6. The discovered map is lost.

Important notes

  • Reproduced on a fresh vanilla save with no mods/workshop items.
  • This does not look like a mod conflict or an old save issue.
  • Server-side monitoring suggested map-related save data was still being written at disconnect, so this looks more like a reconnect restore/sync issue.

Workaround
Setting MapAllKnown = true avoids the gameplay impact, but does not fix the underlying issue.
