#Will previous version of 42.xx still be available in steam game versions?

im not a specialist but i think you should stay on outdated unstable
if thats what you asking for
They will not, Unstable will always be updated. Outdatedunstable will be one minor version behind
I wanted to stay on specific version because 42.16.x is currently the one we have lots of progress again. Im afraid that if they will have 42.17.x, our mp world that is on 42.16.x will be depracated/unable to play anymore
That's unfortunately the reality of it, Unstable is not meant for long-term play.
If you want long-term play you should stick to b41 for now.
They have previous version of 42.xx.x before but i no longer see it now
oh no
They found a security vulnerability a while ago and so all previous versions went away.
They said they would like to return them at some point but if they do it won't be soon.
The system now is as Beard described. But even when the versions were available, you weren't really supposed to play them long-term, the purpose of the Unstable build is to find bugs in preparation for b42 stable.
The only guaranteed long-term version is b41, until b42 stable releases.
We finding and reporting bugs as we progress but i guess we should prepare for it any time soon that the world would be done also
Yeah, but if you're on an outdated release, your bug reports aren't helpful.
As the bugs you report might already be fixed on the current release.
No problem. I'm really looking forward to b42 stable as well. 🙂
Btw @vast locust are you able to continue your world from previous version to latest patch or not?
I've not had a chance to test yet.
Alright. Thank you!
For safe keeping of my 42.16.3 game (in case it failed to load which it didn't, It worked fine on 42.17) I made a full copy of the "SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" folder of the 42.16.3 You can still do this by installing the outdatedunstable verison. As of typing I am able to run the game from the copy I made and boot up in 42.16.3.
This could be a way for you to keep a long term save going but you would be giving up any chance at bug fixes (but also breaking of saves)
