that looks like a fire server ngl
i love pz for the rp aspect so for my first multiplayer experience i joined a small (130 member, usually 20 online) rp server. its like my usual PZ experience but way more immersive and slowburning. i have like, actual reasons to want to live besides keeping all my loot ive attained
i recommend joining an rp server if you havent before!
if you can find a good group to play with, its like the story aspect that project zomboid has been missing. its lovely
few other pics of smokey's, my bedroom and the parking lot ive finished
Yeah so far I have like 250 hours, and i still haven't played in a server yet😭 but you definitely made me wanna join one thats for sure, fire parking lot btw
what is going on in the chat is that just players roleplaying
im assuming so
yup theyre all sellin shit and talkin and whatnot
that was the loudest rp ive ever been in
it really felt like a crowded supermarket
no voice chat? that seems like alot of work typing lol
interesting
text chat allows you to express your character's emotions and actions wayy easier than voice chat
and whys that?
im sure there are some people that do voice chat but we are a bit slow burning
because you can kind of write it like a book, its a communal writing exercise
like instead of just saying "Yeah sure." i could say "Tiffany sighed, eyeing her box of nails against the offer laid infront of her, and succumbs. 'Yeah sure.'" Now the other player knows a lot more about how my character was feeling in that moment. She probably felt it was a shitty offer and wasn't gonna get a better one. And its fine, cause I type real fast, as you see
yes but with voice you can convey emotional nuance, tone, build rapport, hear laughter and inflection and hear hesitation
you cant really convey that through text
not everyone are actors but some are great writers.
and yes, you can do all of that with text chat
ive seen it! :)
there are so many possibilities in writing to explain tone, outside of what the character is directly saying
so is it strictly text only or do some people pop in with voice chat?
its strictly text chat
but there are voice chats where people are talking OOC about the game or the RP or something and its usually a few ppl in there
well i guess dont knock it till you try it and i havent tried it
yup!
ive enjoyed playing with my voice in DND and ive seen people at the table who are reading off lines like popcorn reading in 4th grade
but this is pretty fun and a nice change of pace
ive rp'ed in gta before with voice but we'd have something called /me or /do where you type out what your player is doing if it cant physically do it (engine limitations) like for example "/do lifts box with pinky finger"
yeah ive played dnd before making my character alone took like an entire day lmao
our ingame days are like, 4 hours long
makes sense
last night my battery died when I was surprised by a group of migrating hordes on the road and two motherfuckers nearly died trying to rescue me. i had to rescue THEM.
RPing trying to navigate to those dumb motherfuckers over the radio was a hoot
lmfao my friends and i in a pvp server with rp oriented into it set up an ambush at a crossroad, we called in the radio for help in that we were surrounded by zombies and jumped out and shot them after it was pretty crazy, our characters are were in a war with their faction
we are at war with the military right now
but i havent seen them around for quite a while
fireflies
there was a last of us mod that added all the different infected and it was super awesome, wouldve loved to see an rp server off of that but its dead now
i imagine all factions are fighting for it
well mechanically, by default the player is immune to the knox infection. you turn if you succumb to wounds from the dead, but you can't turn from scratches/bites/lacerations.
the people in knox county, something is in the water here that makes you resistant to it. which is why people around the world have been travelling to get here. a lot of the people in my group are former inmates of Rosewood penitentiary, so we're fine
there are some characters with the 'susceptible' trait, but they're usually walking around in hazmat suits or masks
i think a lot of the military are susceptible but idk. hopefully i never run into them *again
can i get the server name, and is it pvpve or pve?
Would love to look into this server? If able dm with the info. :)
