Hello everyone,
I am currently trying to find out if it's even possible to change the type of a tile. I am trying to build a well inside of a building and the only way I can place that well is via a tile that is made out of dirt.

You can copy tiles by using Debug mode, it should allow copying dirt tiles as well

Im confused. Why would you need a well inside the building? Unless its typo and you meant wall.

Why would I need a well inside of a building... simple, is much easier to build a well rather than plumb a bunch of water barel collectors
