Delete the folder containing the file, then verify your game files
If that fails, can you join other servers?
The owner of the server have that problem too, but ill tell him to do that
That can mean there is a problem with the server
If everyone has it
I suggest reinstalling the server files, since they likely did not update correctly
I dont have the problem, only the other players that tried to join the server after update
Very strange
they ll try that solution
@sacred lake I'm having the same issue and I'm the one hosting using SteamCMD and a dedicated server. I tried deleting the file myself and verifying game files, but didn't have any luck with that. I originally figured my dedicated server was just out of date and my local client has the new version, so I opened steamCMD and ran "app_update 380870 -beta unstable validate" again, then restarted the server, but didn't have any luck sadly.
Am I right to assume I should be updating the dedicated server manually, and if so, is there some other command I should be using to update?
Delete the folder instead as I specified
Deleting the file wont work right
Im 90% sure you answered my question in another thread but I cant find it anymore; can I find the server files in the same directory as the files found in this error? Im at work rn and can't check. Trying to figure out what to do when I get back
Are you using a dedicated server and SteamCMD? If so, if you set an install directory with force_install_dir, then it'll be wherever you specified, otherwise, default is within the SteamCMD folder, in SteamCMD\steamapps\common\Project Zomboid Dedicated Server
NOTE FOR ANY OTHER SERVER ADMINS READING THIS:
Don't do what I did and restart steamCMD and then run update without first using force_install_dir to point back to your old folder. I did this and then was still having the error, but it turned out it was because the newly updated dedicated server was installed inside the SteamCMD\steamapps\common\Project Zomboid Dedicated Server folder, meaning my original dedicated server directory wasn't updated. As soon as I realized this and ran StartServer64 from within this new folder, everything worked
Im not hosting, just having issues reconnecting with this exact error line. But yes it is a dedicated server. Ill check that path. Thank you!
If someone else is hosting, they may need to update the server via steamCMD with the command I put above
I’m the only player that don’t have that problem with that joypad thing, can I share my file and they copy and paste in their folder?
I dont see why that wouldn't work off the top off my head but honestly it might just be easier to delete and very integrity
To Update the Server:
Stop the server completely.
Run steamcmd.exe.
At the Steam> prompt, type each line and press Enter after each:
force_install_dir C:\SteamServers\pz
login anonymous
app_update 380870 -beta unstable validate
quit
Note: Your install directory may be different then the one above.
