UPDATE - This seems to be an issue specifically happening on Indifferent Broccoli hosted multiplayer servers. We're working with them now.

We can't connect to multiplayer with server and client both being updated, we're getting this error message:

File doesn't match the one on the server:
media/lua/shared/joypad/joypadsetup.lua
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid\media\lua\shared\JoyPad\JoyPadSetup.lua

Even deleting the file and then doing a "Verify integrity of game files" and redownloading the file doesn't seem to fix the issue.

Server is verified to have updated to 42.16.3
Clients attempting to connect have been verified as running 42.16.3

Delete the folder containing the file, then verify your game files

did that

#

didnt fix it

Go up a level

#

Delete the folder containing the folder

#

If that still fails, the issue is on the server side

#

Do the same thing on the server, if you have access to it

#

"Delete the folder containing the folder" are you saying delete the entire Shared folder?

Yes

glad thorn
#

nope, same error

Do it on the server as mentioned, assuming this is your server

I don't have access to that machine unfortunately.

#

seems this may be an issue specifically with Indifferent Brocolli hosted servers

We figured it out, IB didnt have the most recent update, we had to manually update and that fixed it

glad thorn
# sly trout how to fix it

you need to manually press the Update button inside of server management in your IB server, or whomever your hosting provider may be

#

I think two patches back to back means that a lot of providers only got the one update and not the second

update server file ?

glad thorn
#

you need to update the server to the latest version

#

okey okey

#

thx sir

glad thorn
#

you might have to do it manually. I'm guessing most server providers have automated jobs that run probably every 6 hours to check for updates, so if an update falls outside of that they might not get it

glad thorn

but at least IB allows you to check for updates manually
