Hi. I host my own server, and on the new build, I've run into a problem and I don't even know what's causing it. The server's RAM would completely fill up in half an hour, and the server would reboot. A couple of days ago, I changed the port and everything went back to normal. Tonight, the exact same problems started again, except the RAM filled up in just 15 minutes and the server crashed just the same. And once again, only changing the port helped. Is this some kind of attack on the server? How do I deal with this?

Just to add, it's definitely not the mods, since both times the problem was fixed just by changing the port. Even when I launched a test vanilla server without mods today on the port that is currently being attacked, the RAM on that test vanilla server maxed out again and the server crashed
Hi! How much RAM does your server have? And how much RAM is allocated in the JSON file?
Server has 64
Xmx-42g
The server easily handles 50 players before the attack
I had a similar problem and it was solved with a tip from beard: put half the RAM I have installed in the JSON file. My server has 40GB and I have 20GB in the JSON file. You could try it and see if it works for you.
60 slots works perfectly for me
You didn't quite understand the problem. I wrote that even an empty vanilla server maxes out its RAM to 100%, and this was only fixed by changing the port. Right now everything is fine again and people are playing normally. I want to know how to deal with the idiot who is attacking my server
Or how to deal with this. Because in the previous patches 13, 14, 15, everything was fine
I'm seeing a lot of messages about memory after the release of 42.16.1. It seems to me that the problem is in the patch.
Yes, I understand what you mean. I recommend you also test what I mentioned.
I've already tested it with both 20GB and 16GB. If the server is under attack, the load still rises to 64 and then the server crashes
I understand, I'll follow this thread to see what solution they find. I hope you manage to solve it soon.
Old Port and new
wtf 8/50
I also can't figure out why I have so much incoming traffic for 3 hours of server uptime
They're probably still shitting on my old port)
