I'm playing in my MP server I made with a couple of my friends and I was driving my car, hit one zombie and it suddenly drops my trunk to 25% and my hood to 5% what causes this because I tried to put down car damage on impact to counteract this and it worked for one play session and now it's just not working anymore. I'm genuinely confused what causes this

It's a widespread, known bug for this build of the game. As far as I have been informed and seen on my servers and those of others, both modded and vanilla, this bug happens with 42.16+.
So far, there is no known fix and the one mod available doesn't work consistently so it's a crappy bug we just have to deal with for now.
