#Host B42.15.3 server indefinitely?

Currently playing on a B42.15.3 server with my wife. Is there any way to play on this server indefinitely and prevent updates? I already loaded up a backup when 42.16 came out, and we're playing "outdated unstable", but I have no sense of how long this will let us play on 42.15. I know there's a way to play offline to avoid steam's auto updates, but that doesn't seem possible for hosting a MP server since other players can only join through steam. Any workarounds, or are we just at the mercy of updates if we don't play on B41 (and it's trash UI scaling)?

You can try running the server as local, block steam in firewall and use tunneling apps (or portforward) to connect to the server. I think this is the only way to play the same unstable version for decades. Be warned - this can't be advised forever. Sooner or later you'll need steam, so setting the autoupdates off (update on launch) would be ideal. Also you need to understand basics working with firewall and tunneling or portforwarding, since those can be abused in certain ways or just open a gate for many possible threats. Use at your own risk.
My best advice - Use B41 until B42 stable for server.

Also I think you can run server via terminal (command line). If you know what you do then you might avoid the part of blocking steam but Im not sure whether it exists for PZ or will it let you launch when a new version is present. But portforwarding here is necessary unless you and your wife playing from a single network (true local)

TL;DR
You need to know basics in network management and using cmd.exe as shells for servers

As for clientside, just launch the game offline (I heard launching executable without steam prevents it from updating) but connecting with open ports should work
