currently they look like that
i just put the backup_2 in there and pressed extract all
it made a new folder the one below and now theres the extraction loading
I think you probably just need the contents of that folder to be in there
Assuming the contents of it are all your save files, like 2026-02-03-049-294
do i just pick them one by one and put them in a new empty folder
Just drag those folders up out of the backup folder and into that .../Saves/Sandbox one
Each of those folders is 1 save file, they need to be in that location for the game to "see" them
No new folder.
so do i stop the extracting load or ?
You can let it finish
And then just drag them one folder "up"
They just can't all be in backup_2 when you're done
so i put all the content of the backup_2 in the servertest_player?
Are these singleplayer saves?
they just need to be in C:\Users\user\Zomboid\Saves\Multiplayer
you have to replace the correct save folder in there... yes
i don't understand what you mean
Yess, looks good.
You just need the contents of backup_2 to be in there (not in a new folder, and not in the larger backup folder)
yes the corrunpted one is kop
then move that kop file from there and put the old backup kop file in there instead...
why do you guys have 2 diff versions
were saying the same thing
idc if the world name is not kop
ok ok
so i just put the content of 'backup_2' in kop and the kop content in backup 2
replace the whole kop folder... doesnt matter what you do with the corrupted one. prob just delete it
so i select all the content of 'kop' and i can just delete it
in my backup 2 there is a kop folder
backup_2 / saves / multiplayer / kop
and in kop there is thi s
looks same like the old kop is that what i need to transfer
its easier to literally just click on the kop folder in your current Multiplayer folder and delete it...
then drag and drop the whole old kop folder from the "backup_2/Multiplayer" into your current "Multiplayer" folder
yup
i would create a new folder on your desktop and just put them in there for now... call it your manual backup folder
incase it fails
btw, if you dont care about your old saves you can just delete everything in that Multiplayer folder
wich ones
bc yea idc about the old saves if that can clean up a bit it a good idea
everything in that folder is either a map or a character... you can safely delete everything in that Multiplayer folder
are you just trying to start a new save?
no i want to continue my 'kop' world
i would have just started a new game then, but i want to keep playing that one game
thought so...
but yeah you dont need the rest of those saves you underlined...
if i didnt had put that much time in 'kop' i would have just started a new one 😂
great
top ones, the string of numbers, are characters from other servers... everything else is a local map/char you hosted at some point
alrrr
looks like this now
i just turned dark mod on sorry for you guys eyes
just a quick question, when people say safe house, they mean base ?
yup, in mp you can claim a safehouse...
lets you spawn inside any building you claim

also, depending on the settings, it keeps your junk safe from other players
to do that i just right click in game and select safehouse or ?
depending on the settings... safehouses can be off... or set to houses only, or all buildings...
and yes, right click inside and claim safehouse. then open the safehouse panel and check the box that says "respawn in safehouse"
Looks good, if that's the right folder anyway!
Is it working/is the game recognizing them?
i didnt turn it on or touched it so i dont think its on
should be houses only by default i think
i'll check it out
it workedd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you sooo much
lost some of my progress but idc
well you rolled the save back a few hours at least
its in the sandbox settings...
oh ok
oh btw... create a manual backup of your current save that you now know works lol
this is my last question
how
mods or debug mode... or slow down the erosion speed... but after hey are there i dont believe you can fix them without using debug mode or a mod
well just copy that kop save into a new folder.
dont move it, just copy it.
create a new folder on your desktop and name it "B42.16 Backups" or something and put it in there...
or you could do the same with your new Backup_1 that was just created in your Backup/startup folder... this might be quicker considering the file size
close the game first though before doing that
but the game does it for me so i could be chill?
it makes 5 that are constantly overwritten every time you load a save...
normally thats enough and you can increase that number... i keep 20
yea, im too lame for 20
