Can you share your logs.zip file found in %UserProfile%\Zomboid?

This log looks corrupted, can you instead run the game using the Alternate Launch option through Steam

#

Then share the output or a screenshot from the console window that shows up

#

So I can check the errors there

This seems like an install issue to me, I would suggest doing a full reinstall rather than a standard one, because Steam leaves leftover files that will cause issues.

First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there.
After that, go to “%UserProfile%\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.
Then just install the game again and see if that helps.

Does it show the exact same error?

#

Can you share all “hs_err_pid” files found in your main game folder “Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid”?

# tulip stag hs_err_pid folders dont seem to exist, can u be more specific

It would be a file and not a folder, can you screenshot the game install folder to confirm they do not exist?

And in the meantime, can you check the Windows Reliability monitor for any ProjectZomboid application crashes there? If you do find any, can you share a screenshot of the Technical Details section so I can check the errors that show up there?

https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/sk-sk/000178177/how-to-use-windows-reliability-monitor-to-identify-software-issues

Built right into Windows 10 and 11, this old-school tool helps diagnose crashes, hangs, and other issues.

@lime lily there is nothing showing up in my problem report

#

oh i have found soemthin

lime lily
#

Hm, so there are no logs.. in which case, do you have any apps running in the background, or did you overclock your graphics card?

#

Especially apps like Msi Afterburner, GPU Tweak..

tulip stag
#

nah everything is the same as it was the day it was working

#

just since the new update

lime lily
#

I see, how about the new update then, any issues with it?

tulip stag
#

i wioll test that now

#

#

DIDNT WORK

#

OMFG

lime lily
#

Hm, can you try going to the game install folder and run tbr Project Zomboid 64.exe with admin permissions?

#

In case there are permission issues

tulip stag
#

NOPE

lime lily
#

You mean you cannot do that, or that it does not help with your issue?

tulip stag
#

it doesnt help

lime lily
#

In that case, can you check if you have Controlled Folder Access enabled in your Windows Security app?

#

And can you check if you have Smart App Control enabled there?

#

Screenshot both to confirm

tulip stag
#

well its off so i dont know how i would screenshot the latter
