🧟 Black Letter Days – A Project Zomboid RP Story 🧟

Welcome to Black Letter Days, a Project Zomboid multiplayer server focused on immersive Roleplay, character building and generally having a good time.

🔥 What We Offer

⚙️ Carefully Curated Mods – With B42 unstable being a much more picky system when it comes to mods, we’ve been spending a great deal of time choosing and testing each of our mods. With that being said, we do take recommendations from the community after testing them on the server.

🌍 Evolving World – Like every server, we want player actions to shape the map and the events happening inside of it. It’s our belief that not every notable event should be driven from Admin run events. We want players invested in RP to make stories and include people in them, or give people things so they can react and be driven by these events as well.

👥 Active & Friendly Community – This community was founded by a small group of friends who grew tired of dealing with a number of problems that come from other servers. Everything from Admins that don’t listen or take part in their own communities, to favoritism and abuse of Admin powers. None of these will be found here. The staff take numerous steps to make sure each decision is made from a neutral standpoint along with taking into account each situation and all surrounding details.

👥 Whitelisted – Our server is White-listed, each member on the server is required to submit a character sheet that is then approved, or denied with reason from staff. We have very few reasons to deny a character and will often provide feedback or point to specific changes that need to be made in these situations.

🧠 Gameplay – We’ve made out gameplay around the idea of Text-based RP. This is not meant to be a super hardcore server, we prioritize RP over having the game be overly hardcore or grindy.

⚙️Journal Based Point & Rewards System – This is a new system that is designed to promote and reward invested RPers. Journal entries submitted in the discord or in-game journals will be rewarded with points that said player can spend on certain things. We hope to foster good RP and stories from this system.

🏚️ Base Building & Factions – Unlike other servers, we accept all playstyles. From being a lonewolf who stalks the larger groups, gathering info and playing a careful hand. All the way to those who wish to lead factions and have numbers no matter where they go. As long as bases are kept realistic in how they’re built and relative size for the group, anything is possible!

💀 Death – We are swapping the server over to a 1 life rule system, but, given this is B42 unstable. We understand that things happen, and given a player can provide recording of what happened, and a screenshot of skills. Staff will make a call on if a character can be revived and skills restored. We also don’t believe dying to random zombies while no one is around should matter. But given these changes, screenshots of skills, and a clip of what happened will still be needed.

🧬 Server Style

PvP: We do not encourage PVP, as we all know its jank and more or less completely broken. But, this being an RP server. Someone will always want to play the bad guy. We do not require players to have PVP flagged at all times, just specific situations and we also offer a Dice rolling system in discord, and in game to enable players who like that type of thing.

Roleplay: [Heavy] We want all of our players to be active in their own way, people who wish to play singeplayer zomboid, hiding away in corners of the maps and hiding from every interaction are not welcome here.

📜 Rules Philosophy

Many servers try to outline rules for every possible situation, or define one rule set and try to apply that to every situation. This is not how ruling should work, and tends to not work great. We believe that context, and every point of view matters so each situation will be handled individually and our list of rules will develop as the server does.
