What did not work exactly? Need you to share way more info of what you did, how you installed the server, what IPs you connected to and what issues you are running into.
I tried to be host by the button in main menu and tried dedicated server, when my friend was trying to connect i didn't saw him connecting in console by local Radmin VPN ip, but he connected by my real IP, so the issue is about connecting by local Radmin VPN network, we tried -nosteam but that didn't work out
Can you share your Radmin setup + a screenshot of how your friend is connecting the server? Mainly the IP he is using in the connection attempt
I dont think i understand you, my friend was trying to open ports, that went isn't very well so we downloaded Radmin VPN, we connected with local radmin vpn but that didnt work, my friend connected by my Radmin VPN ip but that would'nt work
red is my local radmin vpn ip green is friend\
Yep, that is good, so your friend should use the IP you marked in red to join you
I was then asking for your friend to share a screenshot of their server info
The one you have to fill out on the Multiplayer screen
So I can confirm the exact same IP is used
So the problem is that i am host and my ip was marked red, he tired to connect but he had an error ocurring while joining
It doesnt matter if i am host or him, we cant connect
I am not sure what you mean by the IP being marked as red, I need the screenshot I asked for for further troubleshooting
I dont have screenshot of server info, it was default settings server, i have not changed anything, when he tried to connect me by Radmin VPN (red marked IP) we couldn't do it, there was no connection at all. It worked with my real IP address, but that lan Radmin VPN IP didnt work
Im sorry if i missunderstood you, if you meant Radmin Setup (that one application) you can find it on their site, my friend was connecting to me by my lan Radmin VPN network that marked red
Yes, can you share a screenshot of that so I can confirm he is connecting to the correct IP? I have to get proof of each troubleshooting step done correctly.
In the meantime, can you share your friends logs.zip file found in %UserProfile%\Zomboid?
I also tried to join him when he was host, but that didn't worked out, that looked like this, this one logs.zip is mine
This log shows game install issues, so to first fix that problem, can you try doing a full reinstall?
First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there.
After that, go to “%UserProfile%\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder.
Then just install the game again and see if that helps.
If it does not, can you specify how you are hosting exactly?
Additionally, the screenshot shows that you are not connected to your friend with Radmin
Does it show the connection as working when you attempted to join the server?
At the time when we were trying to play, we were connected, but thatt didn't work out
I don't think there is a problem with a game, i was hosting firstly by the button "host" at main menu, i started my server and joined it, when my friend was trying to connect me by LAN that didn't work out, but it worked with my real IP address, so there is a problem with LAN connection
After that we tried dedicated server but that still had a problem, in logs zip there is a folder named server console, there is a file log_1.txt
if you go to the [30-03-26 02:01:44.590] there is my friend that tried to connect me by my real ip
so there is a log about that, but when he tried to connect me by Radmin VPN LAN IP there is no log about that
I think I can only suggest contacting Radmin support in that case, or use a different VPN like ZeroTier
That one is popular for LAN games
TailScale is another one
