hi, me and my friends are new to pz and wanted to try build 42 on hosting , we suffer a lot of desyncs and bugs like one person standing still on one person screen but not for anyone else while able to do anything and having everything unequipped at once for no reason, we are on 42.15.3. Is is because we dont bought a private server ( we are only 4) or is it just a version problem?
#Desync issues in 42.15.3

Yes, the same thing has been happening since one of the 42.15.0/1/2 versions (I’m not sure which one it started in), but there are many issues where one player sees something and another doesn’t. Among them is the one you mentioned, where other players see you standing still.
Can you try locally hosting a dedicated server and see if this issue persists there?

These issues have happened to me and some friends on a newly created server (version 42.15.0 or 42.15.1, I don’t remember exactly) using the Project Zomboid dedicated server. Obviously, I haven’t reported this problem because I’m using a translation mod, but I don’t think the mod is the cause. If someone plays without mods, I’d appreciate it if they could say whether they’ve noticed these anomalies. I actually think it’s a bug or an issue with the game itself.
If it weren’t for the fact that this is a bug you can’t directly see yourself (you depend on other players), I would test it without mods. It’s also not a problem that happens 100% of the time, but it has occurred very frequently for us, where what you see is not necessarily what is actually happening to the other player. For example, you might see a player being practically bitten, but that’s not the reality.
In previous versions I played with the same mod and this problem didn’t exist (I’ve been playing since MP was implemented). This issue started with version 42.15.0/1, but a player won’t notice it easily — your teammates will see “weird” things. What your client shows and what the other player’s client is actually doing are different things.
There are currently no similar reports of the issues happening on unmodded SteamCMD servers as far as I can see
So I can only suggest retesting using SteamCMD to install the server + try without a mod
You do not need to play for a long time to see any such issues
It's a problem that isn't easily "detectable" on a server full of people who may not even know each other and won't notice it just like that.
The player who is experiencing the issue will see everything as relatively “normal.” It’s only when certain things happen that you start wondering why you were standing still with all those zombies around you, why you got bitten, or how you crashed into something when you were sure you weren’t. This problem becomes very noticeable especially when other players see you practically “doing nothing,” while you know you were actually killing half a horde. It’s not an issue that’s easy to detect, whether you use mods or not.
One day, if I can, I’ll record a video when my friends play again, but I’m not sure if it will be soon — it might take a few weeks. However, as I mentioned, it’s not easy to detect when it happens, since the bug/issue is that you don’t always see exactly what is actually happening in certain situations.
You see one thing and your friends see another. Regarding the bug where everything gets unequipped at once, it's happened to me too, and it's related to bandages, but I don't know how it's replicated. It only happens to bandaged characters.
